Philippians 1:6 states: "being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ". It's important to know that Jesus didn't save you for you to fix yourself, but so that He can and will do the perfecting in you (Jeremiah 18:1-6)! Be REAL with Him, share your weaknesses and "hidden" sins with Him, don't hide from Him because to do this you might as well be saying that you can fix yourself without Him. God loves you so much - in sin and out of sin (John 3:16-17; Romans 5:8-11), and He is for you!

I used to listen to secular music all the time, and then when I fell into a deep depression, I started listening to Christian music. My spirit started being lifted, and I couldn't get enough of it. Now, I can't listen to secular music. It depresses me because it offers no hope and brings me back to a dark place.

Young and Christian Ministries TV thank you. I do feel ashamed I feel like God won’t forgive me for not obeying him. I feel so under attack when I start to read my bible and let go of things of the world. It’s like the devil doesn’t want to let me go and puts fear in me to where I give up opening my bible just to get some peace that I won’t be attacked. Being a true Christian is not as hard as people make it seem. Read the Bible and pray for God's understanding of it rather than our modern spin on the Bible. We live in a superficial, dogmatic society that we're afraid of missing out on what others (worldly people) are "enjoying". Once you stop bothering with those things, you'll realize you're not missing much. To be a Christian and stay devout is dependent on the Holy Spirit. In your service to God pray for the Holy Spirit to take preeminence in your life and giving up these things wouldn't seem so hard.

Iman Evans hey just wanted to say there are Christian rappers who I personally listen to who do speak the truth but it's your choice not every Christian rapper produces Godly music sometimes I find there just words but there are many songs that are true with meaningful words and in case you're wondering I don't listen too any worldly music but ya just wanna put that out there

Well I don't know about any R&B Christian artist but the Christian rap/hip hop artist I like to listen to are Lecrea,Andy Mineo, Trip lee and KB and there are lots of others such as flame and da'truth and there is NF and Tedashii but their music is like half and half if you know what I mean

What a lot of y'all are missing in these comments is that God DOES care about music. Do you not know that Lucifer was the highest angel in heaven? Do you know what his job was? MUSIC! Do you know what he uses to draw people away from God? MUSIC? Music is spiritual, that's why when you listen to it you begin to feel certain ways. Do not be ignorant of satans devices.

Yes Satan WAS the highest angel in heaven, until he made his own (/bad) decision, and thats what many people do today: they first walk with god and then leave him, because THEY want to decide for THEIR SELF what to do and they think their thoughts/ideas/"purposes" are better than GOD's. Then i'm asking myself if they create smh themselves or did SOMEBODY create them, and did THEY "invented" themselves their purposes or did SOMEBODY Do it !?!?!!!?? GOD REALLY cares about music and i say it CAN BE spiritual (NOT SAYING IT IS!....), but lemme ask you sth: You think 4REAL that GOD is enjoying the music rn:Alcohol/Drunkness, to have 'fun' (and 'fun' has WAY MORE meanings than just 'fun'),Sex (Yes, Sex is a very spiritual thing GOD created, but now it's not been taken seriously f.ex selling sex, making moneeeeey through sex etc. and GOD LOATHES that!!!),Drugs (I don't see there ANYTHING spiritual), Cuss + Diss (For WHAT REASON?!?!?! We have people who cuss every single time to people and then say things like "yeah, we have to have love for One another because without love, nothing is possible and BLAH BLAH BLAH", and i don't say that i dont do that, i mean of course: if you had a shitty day (which is golden too, i learned) but THIS doesn't make sense to me), AND MANY MORE. The Funniest point is if the people have problems or are in danger or their families, then ALL OF THE SUDDEN they turn to GOD 😂😂😂😂. For me it's sort of 'abusing' him, and also when things happen in certain places, theres Always that "Pray for..." GOD cares about the quality of your belief/love, then comes the music or whatever (you offer the world), i mean people will listen to your music, whether it is good or bad, they gonna hear it. And this is also sort like 'fishing fishes' (if you know the Story of Peter) or to harvest good fruit: music can SAVE lives and at the same time DESTROY lives. Music is Influence so it can influence you in a good/bad way. Music can change everything and anything, so we have to watch out. People are saying now (what I hear A LOOT) that they wanna do their thing and BLAH BLAH BLAH.It's good and fine, BUT AT THE END OF THE DAY/EVERYTHING God will check if they saved lives (through his word, which means GOSPEL) or did the opposite....... I truly believe that the Lord led me to discover your channel, and really listen to what you said. Thank you so much for opening my eyes. I've been denying the fact that this music is bad for my spirit, I always find myself saying "1 song won't hurt" & then I just listen to it more and more. I'm only 14 but no one is ever too young to hold a relationship with God and I really hope to become closer to God and this will be a challenge for me, but it's for the better. I'm a true follower of Christ, but I do listen to all kind of music. As I was listening to your video, I remembered that on times when I fast I cancel out all music besides Christian/Gospel music and listen to nothing but that the whole 2 weeks, 3 weeks, a month to 2 months. And during that fasting I feel more close to God than ever. Now I realize why. What I've been doing is listening to the music I want to and when I feel conviction I would just turn it off. Dummy me should of realized that I wasn't suppose to listen to it to begin with and that conviction I felt was God telling me that the music is not good for my spirit man.
I'm embarrassed to say that when I play gospel music in my car, its not as loud as when I play the music I shouldn't be listening too. Ive been also feeling conviction about that, but I guess I just didnt or wasn't ready to hear God until now.
Better late then never I guess. I love gospel music though. LOVE IT! I just like the feel of the turn up music while getting dressed to head to the mall to buy some new shoes lol.
Anyway. I started off saying this is going to hurt and be soon painful as I transition off of the bad music, but as I sit here and listen to one of my favorite Gospel artists "Fred Hammond" while typing this, Im pretty sure I can do this! Not to say that the enemy will not test me, but I know that its not going to be as painful as i thought. Besides. God doesn't allow you to do the things of Him without Him filling you up with needs and blessings.

This really spoke to me. I love trap music. I play it all day literally. But starting today I'm going to only listen to gospel music and music that doesn't deglorify the lord. It's hard but I'm going to delete all my songs on my app. Wish me luck on my spiritual journey.

I can't tell you how much I relate to this. I liked all the "ratchet" girls in the music industry, so doing that was just 🙃🙃🙃🙃 but comparing God to these girls is silly. What God can give me is just not comparable to them. I have faith that I'll get filled with his presense 💪🏼

This same concern was expressed by social conservatives with regards to Rock Music when it first came out. They feared based on the Bible that it was a sin against God, largely based on propaganda that they were told at church, most likely because insecure pastors were afraid that such music would make them no longer believe in God. I agree that young children shouldn't be exposed to explicit music, but most modern research shows very little correlation between music content and behavior, especially in teenagers and adults. I understand that your concern is probably based on the fact that the Bible says not to curse, but in all honesty, there are many things the Bible says to do that even the most devout Christians usually ignore. For example, the New Testament says to gauge out your eye if it causes you to sin. Plus, it says to kill disobedient children. I do respect peoples' right to their person beliefs, but I don't support people fighting to censor things just because they find them offensive.

Exactly, it's a journey, no one is required to get there before or at the same time as someone else. He deals with us as individuals. He has already ordained our walk And we're just on the path. And only he knows that journey. Every twist and turn, up and down. Being a babe, means never growing, it doesn't mean growing at a pace, others judge you for. It doesn't validate any action, the fact of it being a journey that is, however it shows the true picture of God being exactly who HE says he is, not human.

Not everyone gets it straight away! I personally loved hip hop in the past and now I can listen to the odd song but find it hard to listen to it regularly now. I Never made a conscious decision "I'm going to stop listening to rap".

CalledUntoHoliness Absolutely, it's just a very thin line between wanting to serve God and wanting to serve the idol of being "perfect" and that's where so many times we trip up. Either we can end up being complacent and remaining lukewarm and feel like "I'm gonna sin anyway so God doesn't mind" . Or we can fall into ridiculous religious piousness and become Pharisee like. That's why we aways need to pray for God's wisdom and discernment in ALL things.
If you love songs from Beyonce, Rihanna, Katy Perry, Justin Bieber..virtually every singer /rapper that is played on the radio, your faith in God is under attack. The songs that we listen to are ungodly, catchy, and goes to our subconscious. Most of these songs are about money, sex, getting wild, sleeping around, getting drunk. Ask yourself, why don't they play gospel or Christian songs about Jesus Christ and God in mainstream radio? Because the devil uses mainstream radio as a medium to turn people away from God. Dr. Myles Munroe speaks about this in one of his sermons. Switch off the radio and don't listen to the radio. That is the only way to not allow the music to get in the way of devotion and faith in God. Also, it's best not to follow any celebrity news. Choose, God or satan, heaven or hell.

Amen sister. Very good video and this is all true. I am a 14 year old brother from Hawaii and I continue to love God with all of my heart. A lot of our youth are away from God these days. With the evil music that they listen to and there constant use of bad language. I am in high school and I experience it every day. I am surounded by students who have a delighte for sex and partying. They like to cause a lot of problems with in one another. I feel traped in my current school situation. But I always have Jesus with me every day. A friend of mine sent me this video, the caption really pulled me in. I was recently saved, and I've been on fire for Christ but I've had trouble letting go of music. Can you believe that!? Everything else was easier to let go; partying, drinking, smoking, and sexual immorality.. But music has been the hardest, and at times I do feel like I'm not getting "filled up" although I read the word and pray daily. So thank you so for this message, much needed. God bless you❤

Music is hypnotic and can heavily influence the mind. The music industry uses it to control millions with distractions from living for Christ like secular performers like beyonce, her husband and countless others who are just being used to further the industry's agenda to distract everyone from doing God's will and His work.
If we all keep thinking it's harmless and just a form if entertainment, then why is it so hard to let go of.....

Strictly reading and praying daily is awesome, but if you just get saved and just become a "Christian," you're never going to get filled up.
Getting saved is the first step, KNOWING who you are in Christ is the most important step.
I found myself saved a few years back, went to church every Sunday, prayed, read my bible. But I always felt something was missing. I didn't want to just be the typical weekend "Christian"
I put quotations on the word Christian because I believe that word has been hijacked, everyone is a Christian now a days.
But jesus called you "Sons and daughters of God" and only through him.
But speaking back to what I was saying, I felt empty.
Then I realized that the Holy Spirit filled me with his power, and that we could do exactly what Jesus did. And I should stop doubting when Jesus said "you will do greater things than I"
Because at the end of the day it's NOT ABOUT YOU OR YOUR SIN OR DOUBT. ITS ABOUT WHAT JESUS SAID!! What he promised is above your doubt and sin.
I suggest you watch "PETE CABRERA JR" recent videos, he has old ones up but he just leaves them up so we can see how he's grown as a soldier for Christ!

Correction: God does want us to be happy. "This is My commandment, that you love one another so your joy may be full." And Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you, says the LORD, plans to prosper you, not to harm you. Plans to give you a hope and a future." And "I have come so you may have life, and life abundantly." The Christian life isn't easy, and God never promised that it would be, but it will be a worthwhile life. You will have everlasting joy. It's not that life is supposed to be miserable.
Z D God wants us to be full of joy, joy is spiritual, but Happiness is carnal and momentary. God wants us to be filled with joy because it's what is eternal and can last forever. He wants us to have what lasts because he loves us. Happiness is okay. But Joy is supernatural, it stems from contentment and deep trust in God.

I'm reading all these comments and I'm seeing A lot of people say they came here for something else and saw this video. Brethren it's no coincidence. I know I'm not the only one who felt like this video was meant for me. This just shows that God hasn't given up on us and he keeps finding a way to bring us back to him if that's what we truly want in our hearts. He uses things like these to convict us. Now it's actually our turn to actually HELP ourselves too!

Honestly, I refuse to go around in circles arguing with others who can't seem to understand so I will just say this and hope God will guide the right people to my comment. When I became a Christian, I read many things in the bible or heard other Christians say things and I would PANICK. I started throwing away DVD's and deleting music from my computer, afraid because I was worried they weren't "Godly" or that they would infect my mind and spirit. Over time God lead me to learn that this was unnecessary.
Don't let anyone who "seems" mature in Christ make you feel like you need to stop doing what you're doing. If there's something you need to put away, God will help you - in fact you might turn around one day and realize the music you onced LOVED you don't listen to anymore.
If you want to know the right way, just ask God to guide you and he will do the rest. You might find yourself doing absolutey nothing because despite what many Christians may say - it is okay to depend completely on God, you don't have to force yourself to do anything or to "resist". Simply ask him to help you and he will do the rest.
For me, I simply asked for help and then suddenly I just started "finding" AMAZING music - artists like Lecrae, Andy Mineo, NF, Tripp Lee, Hee Sun Lee, Erica Mason, Flame, V.Rose, KB, Alex Faith, Angie Rose and soo many more artists who are wayy better than mainstream artists that I thought were too hard to give up. Don't be so hard on yourself, nothing happens before God's timing, just take baby steps each day beacause "whether I run this race fast or slow, as long as I keep on moving I'm gonna get there someday I know" Mary Mary (Heaven) - That's all I have to say.

I recently saw an interview with a 'performer' who is called Lacrae, he has announced he no longer desires to be called a Christian artist. He said he just makes music. He's not the only one in the Christian or Gospel genre...countless others are coming out against promoting the Gospel of Jesus Christ and preferring to promote the secular movement of "No rules-No religion"....such as Kirk Franklin and many others.
Anything other than uplifting and glorifying God is truly against God. And just because you may hear "god" sprinkled throughout a song doesn't necessarily mean it's God the Creator but their own god, whatever one seems to glorify or make their lifestyle and actions about.
In today's world, a god can be anything(music, clothing, cars, houses, entertainment or career) but there is only one true and living God.
Serve Him and Him only....renew your minds and you will see things much more clearly.
This is so helpful, i am a 15 year old girl born in a christian household and i am a seventh day adventist. I got baptised on november 26 2016 because i wanted to be clean of all unholiness. I had that for the first 3 weeks but after that i returned to my old habits and it really bothers me eveyday because at this moment i feel like God has left me like he did with Saul and that i dont have any chance anymore to be filled with the holy spirit. The things of the world are really captivating and i always give into it forgetting to be feeding of the word. I really get lost sometimes on how i should get my entire life back in track with Jesus.
There is one way to walk. You are a soldier a warrior. Rise above. I know your in youth and that curiosity is poking at you. Whether it be boys, partying or anything that worldly people do. You have to remember that your father wants whats best for you. He knows you very well. He is a sweet and forgiving father. He will not throw wrong doings in your face. This world won't last. Anything of this world will disappear and we all die. We have one life to live. A test. A choice. The worlds time is short in his eyes. He has watched it more than the years we lived. I rather go to heaven.
Don't over think it either. He has already given you the book of life.

I'd like to add that our adversary-satan- was in charge of music and that's a big reason why music is so enticing. When you listen to hip hop/r&b/rap/country/rock etc what feelings are evoked in you? Getting in shape, making coin, looking good, finding a man? When you listen to gospel or worship how do you feel? I want to get closer to God, to glorify His Name, to pray and read! We have to pay attention to how music makes us feel! On top of all that there is so much evil at work behind the scenes in the entertainment industry.
We are also told that the path to death and destruction is wide and many people are on it but the path to life is narrow and few find it. Don't let the adversary trick you and keep you going the same way everyone else is.

Now, some might say that because this was a part of the law of Moses that it doesn't apply for today, however neither Jesus nor the Apostles ever readdressed this issue in the New Testament, which means it still applies to us. On top of that, many (if not most) tattoos give demonic spirits a gateway to us to infect us and that's why they constantly drive us to want to get them. The best rule of thumb: stay away from them. Hearing about you talking on the topic of music reminded me of something I heard at a youth conference. It was from Pastor D.A. Horton and he said "you fill yourself up on the world so much that you loose your appetite for God." Also, we must remember we feed our souls through our eyes and ears.
We are righteous through Christ, not because of our own works. Christ makes us righteous. Yes, we must live a holy lifestyle, but even when we make mistakes, that doesn't mean we aren't saved, or that the holy spirit leaves us. What we need to do is renew our mind and as we do that We will live a holier life. But we can't do it on our own. The holy spirit has to help us.
That has always been my down fall because I have not been consistent. SMH
I think sometimes we focus so much on trying not to do it, we get down on ourselves. Once i started redirecting my mind with prayer, affirmations etc. right when i get the urge to watch or listen to crazy stuff it changd my perspective from beating myself to realizing my strength and ability to overcome it, is in my Christ not myself. i HOPE IM MAKING SENSE

I see this video is years old but I just found your channel. You are so right and I was just thinking about this today. A lot of people think they are saved but they really aren't because they never really gave their life to Christ. It's a difference between working on not sinning and having the Holy Spirt cleanse you. And completely giving yourself over to sin. The bible says if we walk in darkness we lie. About a year ago God spoke to me and told me to repent. I did and then God truly saved me. It's a night and day difference. I threw out bad movies, alcohol, trash music ect.. And I've never looked back. I only listen to Christian music and I love Glorifying God with it. Keep up the good work.
Holiness is still right. If you are not living for God and not obeying the Word of God you are a lost soul. Only repenting and coming to Christ will save you. which will it be Good or evil, Heaven or Hell, Holy or UnHoly. thank you! Could you please pray for me? I am very shy and have social anxiety and have problems speaking up for myself. Often I feel convicted on things, then when I'm around others who believe differently (often fellow Christians!) I clam up or even lie bc I'm afraid of how they might respond. Sometimes I wonder "how can I have friends if I'm so convicted about things?" I believe differently than many Christians so it's hard for me to find people around whom I can be spiritually free. I will pray that God helps me find people who believe in His Word, and that He gives me strength to stand up to those who don't. Thanks again!

Firstly, I have prayed you, in Jesus' name. Secondly, I want to offer a word of encouragement, enboldenment, and enlightenment.
Conviction is a great thing. It lets us know when we are going off course or when we hit troubled waters. It's an indicator that the Lord is still speaking to you. Always take heed when you are convicted. And never feel like you have to cower in fear when you find yourself in those precarious situations. Stand for what's right and hold up the blood-stained banner! If they are your real friends, they'll understand and respect you. If they're not, then you know you're dealing with an fraudster posing as your friend.
Remember this, you are a sum average of the books you read and the people you associate with. If you want to know who you're going to be in 5 years look at those things and you're gonna have a pretty good idea. Regarding association, if everyone you hang with is spiritually and/or morally lacking you can expect to be the same way in 5 years. If the people have a broke mentality, you will develop one too. If they are spiritually rich and have a desire to grow in God and the Word then you will most likely want to be the same. So look at your books and your association and find out where you are headed and change course if necessary.
Today, the devil is not playing around, and he is seeking those he may devour. He does this anyway he can. Any access portal he can find to weasel his way into our lives he'll find it. One way he does this is through words. While the saying says, " sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me", words can be very detrimental. The reason is because they are contracts made within the realm of the spirit. If you make the wrong contract, you can invite Satan and his kingdom to have his way with you. For instance, if you say that "I am a shy introvert" you are inviting demons to come in and make that statement a reality. I find that confessing with my mouth what God created me to be (which is for greatness) initiates a contract between me and God to act on my behalf against the kingdom of darkness. Remember that the Bible say the death and life lie in the power of the tongue.
Now there may be some spirits causing your social anxiety that need to be dealt with. Many times these spirits or demons are carried over from before we have our lives to Christ. Unfortunately, because of the decisions we made, words we spoke or that were spoken against us, things that have been passed through our generations, or ungodly soul ties before and after our salvation, demons had access to infect us and they need to be cast out. Many of the things you may experience in social situations that cause you angst or anxiety or that cause you to compromise your faith may be demons. Demons will even bring you friends that they know will cause you harm only to keep you in bondage. If so, then the good news is that you can be set free, in Jesus' mighty name. I would seek out someone in your area who does deliverance and let them help through it. I've gone through deliverance and I've been freed of so many things that I didn't realize I didn't have to struggle with including social anxiety and fear/cowardice.
I really hope this finds you and that it blesses you. Become the person who when you wake up out of bed and put your feet on the ground Satan says, "Oh no, she's up!"

Dang I really needed this. I think it's way harder for people my age (teens) to let go of things like music because my generation connects with music more than any other generation has. I know that Lucifer was the master of music and that's how he's drawing in all these kids nowadays. I kills me that I know all of this and still continue to listen to secular music. I think many Christians need to actually read the Bible. not in bits and pieces but it's entirety. Because many Christians believe that celebrating Christmas, easter and Halloween. many Christians still believe that the only part of the bible that applies to them is the new testament. Following Christ is not a cookie cutter fad that the churches like to teach. it's sad because so many people are led astray by false doctrine and teachings. Just know you cannot be a true follower of Christ if you are not obedient to his commandments. ..that means all of them including keeping the Sabbath on Saturday not Sunday...
Hey sis thanks for your comment. I do agree it is important to understand the entire bible, read in context. As well as the Sabbath. Sabbath is the matter of preference NOT a command.
In Colossians 2:16-17, the apostle Paul declares, “Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ.” Similarly, Romans 14:5 states, “One man considers one day more sacred than another; another man considers every day alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind.” These Scriptures make it clear that, for the Christian, Sabbath-keeping is a matter of spiritual freedom, not a command from God.

I think that a lot of Christian are stuck on traditional stuff versus what the bible actually says. also they are being told by pulpit snakes that they don't have to keep the diet laws and feast days and that Christ died on Friday and rose on easter Sunday. if you do the math and read the bible you will see that it is not possible that these things happened that way. I don't bash Christian but there is nothing Christ like about Christians. If you closely evaluate how Christian live and think...you will know the exact same thing. most Christian are not even anywhere close to being like any of Jesus followers in His time. How can you get this text from the Bible and preach it but disregard the others. When something is wrong, it is wrong. You can’t choose to not dress Christ like because the Bible tells you and preach about how what you’re doing is holy, and choose not to worship the Sabbath because to YOU it’s an option and call it a “preference”.

I cannot tell you how much I NEEDED to watch this.. I have entered a stage in my life where I feel so LOW and so unfulfilled surrounding myself with things of this world and having it cloud up not only my mind but my energy as well and because I used to be such a strong seed and vessel for Christ in the past this has been so heartbreaking for me to know I've been exalting my flesh and neglecting the Spirit within me for temporary pleasures rather than uplifting Christ so He can uplift me so I can uplift others so we all can uplift this world in the name of God! These words are exactly what I needed to hear tonight and I praise God for having come across your video and filling you with such Heavenly wisdom that can be shared with others! God loves you dearly and has such a special plan for you and it has reminded me that God has a bigger purpose for me as well, it's time for me to make some big changes and make God my FIRST priority on the DAILY.
