I love this method! My favorite go-to study method is the "Outer SPACE" method. Outer - What's the context of the passage? S - Does this passage reveal any sin/s we should avoid? P - Does this passage reveal any promises we can claim? A - Does this passage reveal an attitude/s we should reflect? C- Does this passage give any commands to follow? E - End with prayer.

good idea but i would suggest to start and end with P prayer, so the Holy Spirit will lead you through the other steps. The Holy Spirit will unseal the Word of God for us to learn and understand
webicy Amani you typed exactly what I was going to suggest. The Holy Spirit must open our spiritual eyes to see and reveal. Open or spiritual ears to hear. Otherwise, we're just reading the Bible with no revelation. It's about quality and not quantity. She has a very good method though. Kudos!!! Praise God.

I get a Bible verse sent to my phone daily from the Bible app. Today, exactly one hour ago, Psalms 46:10 was sent. Moments later I got on RUclips and this video came out on my recommendations which was funny to me because I have been wanting to study the Word of God but didn’t know exactly how or where to start... when this video went into Psalms 46:10, I definitely heard HIS voice 🙏🏼 So excited to start using this SOAP method. Could y’all please pray for my mother, she lost her connection with god after my father died at the age of 46, and even though she hides it, me and all my siblings know she’s lost her trust and faith in god.
When going thru trauma/traumatic experience we have to watch/observe selves x-closely. That's the no. 1 time we lose our connection. When we lose our Connection we are officially-lost. Again.
As long as you open and read Scripture every day, your honoring your Heavenly Father, and growing in Christ (the Word). Pray before and after your study, and ask the Person of the Holy Spirit to guide you and intercede on your behalf. Blessings. Amen

This sounds like a fabulous way to slow it down and ponder. The more limited alone time I get, the more I find myself tempted to treat scriptures like some kind of marathon training...like I gotta get my pages in to stay fit. This style is so much more fulfilling. I’m totally going to mix this in to my scripture study this year.
Whether you have a limited amount of time of studying, or ample time of studying, it is proven when writing things down that you remember and contemplate more on the subject/object. I'm gonna try this. Thank you for sharing this with us. :)

I have heard of the SOAP method but have never put it into practice. I'm consistent when it comes to daily bible reading, but sometimes I feel like it's going in one ear and out the other. For the past year, my faith has been tested to the point that I have more doubts than I'd ever had before. I feel like I'm getting kicked while I'm already down and unable to stand. With my fake smile and I'm just peachy attitude, I seem to have mastered the art of deceiving the people I love.... OMMMMGoodness!!! This is unbelievable actually it is believable because we serve an amazinng God. For years I have struggled to study the bible and instead read the bible or based my studies on what other people have interpreted the scriptures to be. In fact I have gone through months on end not even bothering until I decided to fully engage as let's face it the Lord is coming for us soon. Anyway I prayed the last two nights for God to help me understand the word and be able to rely on just my interpretation and understanding through the holyspirit ofcourse, then today as I was about to try again your video popped up on my feed and I cannot begin to tell you how grateful I am. Glory to God!! I just studied the same verse that was giving trouble for days as the words could not make sense to me and now it is clear as day and I am enjoying it. I am super excited that I can finally study the word properly:)))

I'm so grateful for this method. I too am a wife, mom and student so it's hard to really study the Bible like I want to. But this is simple and is focused on the Word.
So glad that I came across this video! Let me rephrase that. I am so glad that God led me to this video. I feel this will be such a wonderful tool for me specifically, because I am an amateur writer of 40 years. lol I understand and absorb far more when I write things out. Since I usually don't take lunch at work, I was looking on RUclips for some Bible study videos to watch. I really needed this! Thank you for posting this and I thank God you did because I really needed to see this. Whenever I read the Bible I would only just read it and write down like a summary of what happened. But, now with this SOAP method I see that I need to actually STUDY God's Word and apply it to my daily life. So, this is a great method and I would tell others about it.

I love this simple method of studying God's Word: letting God speak through it to me by taking it as a personal word and then responding to God both in action and in conversation with Him. This particular verse opened up to me in a new way, as you mentioned that "Know" means "yada" - the Hebrew word for intimacy. When we cease from our own works and develop an intimacy with Jesus (as in abiding in the Vine - John 15:5), letting Him work in us, God is truly exalted. That is awesome! This is the Biblical way of meditating on God's Word as given in Joshua 1:8 - to "observe" to "do" what is written in it. I'm glad this popped up! Thanks!

There's been a negative cycle in my family for years as well, difference in views of all types...there's nothing wrong about having differences because we're all are not alike and then in some ways we are but they cause more arguments than less, the grudges and all almost on a daily basis so I can absolutely relate. The best thing to do is to go to God for ourselves first because we know in our heart we need things to change especially if you see it but we have to make sure we're on track with God and in our heart's and if we ourselves is causing any stress or hatred, etc. We have to correct it first...we have to be the change we want to see First, then we can help out family...No it is not easy, so are gona change and some will stay in their way but with God all things are possible. Stay prayerful and Don't throw in the towel God will fight the fight it's not our battle so we may think.

Oddly enough the S.O.A.P. method works! It makes sense cuz soap makes you clean and reading God's Word makes you clean.

Proverbs 7:5-27 speaks about her, v. 27 Her house is the way to hell, going down to the chambers of death. The SOAP method has been used nurses for many years ! Subjective -Objective- Assessment and Plan describes our notes on patient care. I'm happy to see your using it with prayer!

Carol Blackley the bible is not a mental thing... its not supposed to be analysed by our own understanding... it is a spiritual thing that the holly spirig uses to talk to us... sometimes uses other tools
This sounds like a fabulous way to slow it down and ponder. The more limited alone time I get, the more I find myself tempted to treat scriptures like some kind of marathon training...like I gotta get my pages in to stay fit. This style is so much more fulfilling. I’m totally going to mix this in to my scripture study this year.
Whether you have a limited amount of time of studying, or ample time of studying, it is proven when writing things down that you remember and contemplate more on the subject/object. I'm gonna try this. Thank you for sharing this with us. :)

I have heard of the SOAP method but have never put it into practice. I'm consistent when it comes to daily bible reading, but sometimes I feel like it's going in one ear and out the other. For the past year, my faith has been tested to the point that I have more doubts than I'd ever had before. I feel like I'm getting kicked while I'm already down and unable to stand. I feel like my life/my world is being pulled away from under me, and all I can do is watch. With my fake smile and I'm just peachy attitude, I seem to have mastered the art of deceiving the people I love.... Tonight, I couldn't sleep, I've been watching makeup tutorial videos just to focus on something else, and trying to fill the gap in my life/ in my heart. I don't believe I came across this video by accident, nor do I believe it was so I can study the Bible. I believe that at this very moment, I needed to hear this Bible verse. Thank you. God, I trust you.

I actually prayed last night for faith and that evening looked at all my bibles and devotionals and just did not know where to start. Then I make a step of faith and looked in youtube. This is good and I can't wait to try it. It definitely slows you down to soak it up.

OMMMMGoodness!!! This is unbelievable actually it is believable because we serve an amazinng God. For years I have struggled to study the bible and instead read the bible or based my studies on what other people have interpreted the scriptures to be. In fact I have gone through months on end not even bothering until I decided to fully engage as let's face it the Lord is coming for us soon. Anyway I prayed the last two nights for God to help me understand the word and be able to rely on just my interpretation and understanding through the holyspirit ofcourse, then today as I was about to try again your video popped up on my feed and I cannot begin to tell you how grateful I am. Glory to God!! I just studied the same verse that was giving trouble for days as the words could not make sense to me and now it is clear as day and I am enjoying it. I am super excited that I can finally study the word properly:)))

I am so glad that God led me to this video. I feel this will be such a wonderful tool for me specifically, because I am an amateur writer of 40 years. lol
I understand and absorb far more when I write things out. I think that for me the observation part of this will be made easier through writing it out and then studying the words involved in the scripture. I'm going to recommend this idea to others that I know.

I really needed this! Thank you for posting this and I thank God you did because I really needed to see this. Whenever I read the Bible I would only just read it and write down like a summary of what happened. But, now with this SOAP method I see that I need to actually STUDY God's Word and apply it to my daily life. So, this is a great method and I would tell others about it.

I love this simple method of studying God's Word: letting God speak through it to me by taking it as a personal word and then responding to God both in action and in conversation with Him. This particular verse opened up to me in a new way, as you mentioned that "Know" means "yada" - the Hebrew word for intimacy. When we cease from our own works and develop an intimacy with Jesus (as in abiding in the Vine - John 15:5), letting Him work in us, God is truly exalted. That is awesome! This is the Biblical way of meditating on God's Word as given in Joshua 1:8 - to "observe" to "do" what is written in it. I'm glad this popped up! Thanks!

There's been a negative cycle in my family for years as well, difference in views of all types...there's nothing wrong about having differences because we're all are not alike and then in some ways we are but they cause more arguments than less, the grudges and all almost on a daily basis so I can absolutely relate. The best thing to do is to go to God for ourselves first because we know in our heart we need things to change especially if you see it but we have to make sure we're on track with God and in our heart's and if we ourselves is causing any stress or hatred, etc. We have to correct it first...we have to be the change we want to see First, then we can help out family...No it is not easy, so are gona change and some will stay in their way but with God all things are possible. Stay prayerful and Don't throw in the towel God will fight the fight it's not our battle so we may think.
