Don’t give up. We are studying John, well, part one didn’t come in, so we started with part 2 with Chapter 12. I broke the lesson plan into smaller segments. Slow down and enjoy the journey. I’m not stressing about keeping up with the study class lesson plans. I do what I feel comfortable doing. I’m learning so much and feel so much closer to God by reading his word. My main tip is “Keep watching Faith as she is my main resource and inspiration”. Oh, I noticed that the ladies around me, that I’m the only one writing in my Bible, can’t see everyone.

Twenty some years ago, I had never read through the whole bible. I finally did it when I bought a One Year Bible, which has OT, NT, Psalms & Proverbs in daily sections. I also started a small group in my house to discuss each week's assignment. The group only lasted a few months, (due to the wild, destructive kids that parents brought along,) but I did develop the habit of reading through the bible in a year. Since then, the One Year Bible has an online blog. There are other well known bible reading plans, such as the M'Cheyne plan, which I have used for 2021 & 2022, using D. A. Carson's two "For the Love of God" daily companions. In recent years, I have used a different study bible each year. The one I have lined up for next year has awesome footnotes. It is the Fire Bible. I am debating using your Grace Plan for next year. I haven't bought an interleaved bible yet. Maybe someday God will lead me down that road. (I am one of your quiet Patreon supporters. I only live one state away.)

I just found your channel and really enjoyed your content and how you present it. I have been studying the Bible for years but I do remember how overwhelming it was when I started. Some tips I still use is asking questions: who, what, where, when, why, and how. Not every passage will answer all the questions but it helps to focus your study. I also make lists of repeated words or phrases. These are important. Ask the above questions about these. You will start to notice throughout the Bible that God will often repeat words and phrases to convey their importance. I also use the word study tools. I liked how you said the Bible is about God not us. We often forget that. Bless you with your ministry!

    some bible ideas:
-look up 'who i am in Christ' then make a diy tab for each verse then study each verse (u can study just one or a bit or all of the verses)
-make tabs for specific verses you know you will need (aka when satan is attacking me, when im anxious, when i need comfort, etc) basically easy to find verses for daily life
-ADD THE PRETTIES. literally add stickers, washi! i recommend to use whatever you have on hand first and then ask God to help provide for this desire to decorate His Word. i recommend this so strongly cause especially if ur a newbie to the bible, seeing your bible filled with things you love makes you want to pick it up more often and for longer (at least that helped me in the beginning lol)
-journal about your day in your bible and date it!
-make a travel log for your bible (aka writing where you take your bible and the date)
    -write future notes to yourself/others
-make inside jokes with you and God
    -doodle!
    -vent to God!
-ask God to bring a strong desire for the bible, if you ask Him, He will do it! He wants all of us to have a relationship with Him and enjoy our time in the bible

I was just listening to a different woman about Bible study, she said where she started reading, i put my phone down opened my Bible to that page and when I picked my phone up you were on screen, I didn't go back and look for her, I stayed here and listened to your video, I believe God wants me here on your page to learn everything i need to know, after you showed your colored pencils, I said WOW because around 10 years ago my Mother and I were going to yard sales, at one house there was a paint and colored pencil set, i said to myself i need to get that, I just had to have it and not knowing what I was going to use it for until today, its so amazing how God works in our lives, i never would have thought that God wanted me to buy that pencil set 10 years ago knowing one day i will know what they are going to be used for, i can't wait to start learning the Bible with you, thank you God you are so Amazing ❤️

I always got that sick/anxious feeling bringing the kids to school and then I started hearing about some of the things happening in public school these days and I started homeschooling. Much later I realized that it was never right for my family to do public school and that's why it felt so wrong in my gut. It has been a few years of homeschooling and it's amazing. The kids are thriving much more and have even gotten ahead of their grade some subjects.

      This!! Like 1000%!!
At this point, there are very few benefits from public school and they just do not justify sending them.
Nearly every parent out there has the ability and access to homeschool! At this point in our human evolution in our technology, we all nearly have a 100% rate of having access to not only the resources to teach our children anything we want with an infinite amount of knowledge at the tips of our fingers for the cost of an internet connection we’re already paying for AND the access to learn the skills to be able to ultimately work from home by finding a new job or creating one in order to ultimately be able to do so for your child! The issue here is so many parents choose not to, don’t want to and make excuses not to instead while using those same resources to do other things that don’t benefit them/their children as much while complaining as though they ‘can’t’. If you REALLY want to do this or anything else in life, you will find a way to find away to make a way to make it happen. If not, all you will make is excuses. This is true for nearly every parent out there! Even the single parent or a special needs child! Does it take more work? Of course! But it’s well worth it and parents should be investing in their children anyways, not ‘just’ providing for them with a their financial needs from a job. To add to this, homeschooling for take the same 8++ hrs a day of hands on learning just because that’s the same timeframe your children are in school. Even in that setting, a child is not going to spending all that time doing so just because they are there. Many parents would be shocked to learn that on an average day, most kids spend only an average of 45 mins of actual hands on learning throughout their whole entire school day!! This is to include all of the constant interruptions and distractions as well as playing constant catch-up to meet the needs of the whole entire class. In an individualized environment where a child is allowed to thrive and their needs are actually met, you can get far more done in an hour of homeschooling than you can in 8hrs of sending them to school and I guarantee you that that info is actually retained when doing so over a child just wanting to come home from school and decompress because their day was too overwhelming for them and they don’t remember hardly anything they were forced to ‘learn’ that day, ultimately was their time and having to recap constantly to review and force it to stick. They may say repetition is key in learning things, but that is so unnecessary when a child can actually be allowed to learn at their own pace and can actually grasp the concepts at hand to actually comprehend what they are learning. So many things are taught before a child is ready and that’s why it’s reiterated so much over time; again, completely unnecessary! While I’m not advocating for not ever teaching a child math, it’s been proven that if they don’t pick it up much, until later on, by the time they are about 16, and have the mental capacity to be able to learn and comprehend such concepts, they can learn all of the math concepts from the beginning of simple addition, all the way up to calculus in under 9months with less stress, more retention and greater ability to actually truly understanding what they are being taught-which is what true learning is actually all about! Yet, we drudge through it all year after year with our children thinking if we do not drill these concepts into their heads early on, they will never learn it and won’t want to do so on their own-ever! Which is just not true! Forced learning unnatural ways, is far more detrimental to their ability to want to learn things naturally and turns them off to wanting to do so. If anyone has ever seen a child who has been freely allowed to learn whatever they want to and not been subjected to forced education, will see that you cannot stop children the curiosity of the child who are like that! They want to learn it all, not the opposite! My 9 yr old is learning square roots and exponents just for fun and he taught himself to read! He loves to do math with extremely large numbers, loves geometry and algebra and was working with negative numbers 2 yrs ago. He’s super curious about EVERYTHING especially science and if he were in school, he’d be labeled as ADHD because he just wants to know it all and would have been held back from his full potential because he’s learning things far beyond his grade level. Instead, he’s at home, allowed to thrive and follow his passions of art and cooking. My oldest is not almost 24 and on his way to be a LEGO set designer and wants to move to Denmark to be able to do so.
My children aren’t special, just allowed to follow their own paths in their learning and when a child is allowed to do so, they end up so much better off than those who are treated like if they won’t tolerate it being shoved in their faces by some arbitrary age, then they just won’t ever get it-ever! None of that is true, but it takes a lot of trust in the natural process of how things are supposed to be. You can’t get there with the ‘school at home’ thought process in mind. It takes a whole lot of deschooling to do so.

As a former public school teacher I have an insider's point of view. That said, I strongly recommend people to NOT send their children to public. You will be shocked by what they are learning that you won't find out about until years later (when the damage is already firmly entrenched).

The crazy earrings are part of the Faith charm. 😁 I just got back into reading the Bible maybe two months ago. About a month ago, I got a new Bible (wasn't necessary, I just wanted different study Bible stuff) and finally started learning how to actually study the Bible for myself. Your videos have been helping teach me how to study instead of just read a study Bible. I posted a video on my TikTok last week showing how the book of Acts is looking. It's kind of a mess and I need to add a couple pages already, but it makes me happy. I used to keep a notebook for taking sermon notes. The problem was that I never read them. I've always read the few notes I wrote in my Bible when I came across them while reading; I decided all my notes are going in my Bible so I won't forget about them.

I started reading last night and did not want to stop! I grew up in church, own Bibles but have never actually read it. Here and there but not actually ‘read’ read it. So that is where i am starting now. I am going to use the chronological Bible as the guide and then make notes in my main Bible.

The best book I have ever read about how to study the Bible is Living by the Book by Howard G. Hendricks and William D. Hendricks. I think this book helps to study the Bible in depth, but you need to be patient with it.
The authors recommend starting with books like Philippians, Mark, Jonah, and Nehemiah or with a verse. I love this book, and I always refer to it when I'm studying a bible book.

Another thing I do is sometimes voice really gets in the way. I always feel guilty when that happens, but it continues to happen. So on RUclips they have Gospel of Matthew and the Gospel of john that shows actors doing what the Bible says in that gospel and a narrator. It's only the words in the Bible, nothing added or taken away. Sometimes I pray and watch those for however long I can. I watch John over and over until I could practically say the words they were saying. Now I'm Matthew over and over. I know it doesn't take the place of Bible study, but it's something to do along with Bible study or a way to be in the Word when it feels to actually Bible study. Those days still happen. God bless you and everyone who watches your channel!

I've TRIED, now three times (this is the third), to walk this path... and something has always pulled me away. Where folks will grasp onto, cling to, lean into their faith when things are going poorly, I have always had a habit of 'why would all this be happening if all this is true...' - between abusive relationships, and losing people very close to me, it became very easy to get angry.
I'm trying again... I have an amazing boyfriend who is so heavy in his faith, and has SO much peace about all things, because for him 'it doesn't matter, my path is already set... I'm just along for the ride' type of thing.
I came across you somehow a few months ago... and I ADORE you. I could listen to you all day... it started as being SO intrigued by your physical bible, and how fun and colorful and cool it was... to genuinely listening. So I bought your 210 day Bible Study guide, and your videos that go along with... and my son and I started yesterday. We're on day two... we listened to the videos as well... I'm excited to learn and also SO confused half the time lol, but I'm getting the two dictionaries, and I think that Bible journaling is going to help me with remembering what I read, and what things mean... obviously it'll be nothing like the masterpiece that is your bible lol, but of course I wanna get all the fancy things lol.
You're a phenomenal human. Thank you for all you share.

I'm currently in college now and I'm studying theology and even though I have read big portions of the Bible before, I haven't really been digging deep into it until now. This video was very helpful. Also, before studying theology I studied psychology/the behavioral sciences, and as someone who studied to become a therapist, you're experiencing very healthy nervous feelings about your boys :) I'm not a parent myself (but I know much about child psychology and the psychology of being a parent), but I think most parents feel nervous for their kids when they start school. It would be concerning if a parent didn't feel nervous at all because that could be a sign of not feeling attachment, or about some underlying issue. It really is a funny transition studying psychology at a secular university to studying theology at a Christian college. I enjoy both and it certainly gives me a lot of different knowledge from different perspectives which I see as a beautiful thing.

This is so cool! I was pursuing a degree in International Affairs and about to minor in Psychology (also in a secular university), but I felt that God was stirring my life in a completely different direction and so I stopped all of my secular pursuits, especially the academic ones, and now I'm about to start Theology.
I hope that you learn a lot in Uni and that this degree is a tool to help you get closer to God and that you can help other people get close to Him too. I pray that you don't lose sight of your purpose there and after you graduate.

Thank you so much for your videos, I randomly found you on RUclips by looking up a bible review online and your video appeared in the side tab. I've been wanting to get back into the word but struggle so much because I turn my bibles into scrapbooks and note take beyond capacity. I had no idea how to sort out the mess that was in my mind on a single column page. I saw your chunky bible pages overflowing (the bible being sent off video) and clicked thinking "this girl gets it!" I've decided since inside of stressing trying to find the right column bible I could get an interleavened bible something I'd never heard of until today and take the kinds of notes in a space I'd personal need. Thank you again so much for this "getting back into it" video. you're truly an inspiration.

I really liked what you said about setting the time or space that helps me know ok it's Bible study time. I've also lost that creative drive over the years but I love how you have brought back some of the basics and made it okay to mark up and scrapbook style our Bible learning (I'm probably grammatically incorrect in speaking😅). So glad I stumbled across your page🤗

YES !! you recommend plain old colored pencils.
Most recommend all kinds of pens and highlighters, these bled thru the paper
But colored pencils are great they don't bleed thru and if you don't press hard you can erase it a little if needed .
Also you keep it simple. Nothing fancy or elaborate
Some stickers, drawings and coloring to make it interesting works for me .
I like learning new ways of studying God's word , it makes for an interesting and a fun way to learn old thing's !
What's funny is in the 1970's and back people thought it was wrong to write/mark on your Bible, one church the ladies got their panties all in a bunch because I was marking in my Bible, I felt guilty for doing it until the pastor put them straight, by showing his Bible which was totally marked up, how he knew what was what with his notes was something to me at the time .
    He said
why do you think we go thru so many Bible's ?
We have good memories, but not that good therefore our Bible notes !!

Advice to a Beginner? Habit Stacking is a legit practice! We are most certainly wired for habit (every aspect of health, spiritual or physical, depends on quality habits)... even the chaotic life has habits unknown that create that chaos, yet God is not a God of chaos, so... there's that. I fully agree with creating a space that "triggers" the habit of Bible Study to be paired with something (else) you really enjoy that is appropriate. For example, I light candles, fix my hot cocoa, and will often (not always - depends on my brain that day!) play very quiet classical music to study with. When I'm home, I do this at my desk (with a sunrise view which encourages arising early) so I can further stack my enjoyment of journaling and marking up notes of importance all while being drenched in God's Word for the day. Evening and Morning Routines will absolutely change your life, and when God becomes a foundation of why you do them, transformation comes!

@Julie I struggled with praying too. I think it was because I never knew how to begin a conversation with Him. I felt silly. But after you realize that God knows you feel its a struggle, it becomes easier to talk to Him.
I began by just saying, "God, its hard for me to feel the push when it comes to talking to you. I know that you know all things, so I pray that you will create the perfect avenue for us to converse freely and happily so that we can become unified in hearts and soul. I know this is what you desire Lord. Please grant me the same desire and eagerness to be one with you".
As time went on, I searched for my secluded place to be with God. I talk to Him with my voice and not just my thoughts. I decided that maybe He desired to hear my actual voice. Things began to change. The love and desire I have for the Lord became like an echo through my life, my home and all the little things in life. He is our Father. The perfect Farther and creator of all things and He loves you and wants to feel that bond. His ability to love is *HUGE*.

    Great video!
I would add this one thing-make it a habit each and every time to pray before you start reading your Bible & ask God to give you understanding of His Word and for the Holy Spirit to work in your life regarding what you read so you may remember it and live as God wants you to live.
If I don’t pray before I read my Bible I often get distracted or sleepy or just don’t retain the information. Maybe put a sticky note that says “pray first” on the page so you remember to ask for God’s help every time.

My daughter started going to school in the 4rh grade, I homeschooled her before that. I found alternative education private school for her on the other end of town. I was so nervous that the first day I took her to school, I forgot her lunch. I thought no big deal, I'll just get something bat a nearby grocery store. That's when I realized I also forget my purse! I never go anywhere without my purse!!!! But I was freaking out so much. So I had to drive about 40 minutes home, get her lunch and 40 minutes to bring the lunch to school. I made 4 40 minute trips that day! LOL!!! And she loved it and I loved it and I loved it and it was one of the best things we ever did.

What you really need to know when starting to read the Bible now is that it has been and continues to be supernaturally changed. It would appear that this began around the year 2015. This is in fulfillment of Bible prophecy. Amos 8:11. Most so called Christians however do not appear to be aware of this as was also prophesied. 2 Thessalonians 2:11. We are near the return of Jesus and discernment and guidance from the Holy Spirit is essential!

  • @Lacroix999

You’re nervous feeling you had with your boys going to school is because parents aren’t meant to ship their children off that young. It’s your internal instinct as a parent to make sure they are safe because you’re trusting them to someone else to do your job when it’s your job to protect them.
Just because we have been doing so for the last couple hundred years, doesn’t change what it is and why we feel that way. We may think “Oh, they will be fine, I went through it and they will survive too!” doesn’t change the fact that we’re not naturally meant to ship them off so early. Just because things have always been done that way, doesn’t mean it’s what’s best or natural, all it means is that we have conditioned ourselves as a society to keep doing what’s been done e to us regardless as to asking if we should, if it’s right or if it’s actually really what’s best for our children. To add to this we make excuses for doing so and convince ourselves that it’s what’s best for them being it’s always been done that way despite a nagging at our instincts not to, and we close off that instinct that’s meant to protect our children. Not only that, we also tell ourselves that “children are resilient” when so many people spend most of their adult lives recovering from their childhood because children are not given a choice but to suck up what was done to them as a child and get over it whether or not they like it for the sake of it being “what’s best for them” which is not the same as being resilient. We don’t give children that choice but to be like that and feel like that. People may act like that’s stretching it a bit because it’s “just school” and “it’s a necessary part of life” but fail to see even as adults, many of us are so traumatized by school that we still have nightmares of being g late to class, missing their homework, failing their tests etc, that all revolve around school because they had such strong internalized fears and anxiety around all of that as a child and it still haunts them years later, so I beg to differ.
Many people who think they ‘turned out fine’ despite having to agonize going to school and think the same is beneficial to the next generation just because they suffered through it themselves, did not ultimately‘turn out fine’ and are only trying to justify their own suffering some way on the next generation because it makes them feel better about enduring it themselves. That’s a very egotistical and narcissistic thought process, which may upset some to hear, because they don’t want to acknowledge that that is subconsciously true on some level in their own mind, but makes it true to some extent no less.
While while many children may thrive in a school setting, that doesn’t mean that they won’t eventually lose their true curiosity and natural love for learning as the years progress being forced education is not natural to us and is the furthest thing from how we’re meant to learn. It’s no wonder many children start dragging their feet by 3rd grade to go to school and only want to keep going g because of their friends are there by 6th grade on. Parents fail to also see that forced segregation by age, is not true socialization and it’s the only time we are forced to do so in our lives. Even in the work force, we are not separated by age and yet ironically, kids are told that to sit down, be quiet and basically obey because they are not at school to socialize. It’s said and produces more awkward kids than those who are homeschooled. This is because kids kept at home to learn, are less likely to feel the need to fit into strange cliques and need to feel like if they don’t, they stand out and potentially get made fun of or bullied and children have no choice but to endure these types of things because they are in a forced environment together, all of them just learning bad habits from each other. People may say that that’s how we learn to fit in and it prepares them for life, but even in the workplace, if you don’t like it, you can switch jobs, but a child in school doesn’t get that choice and subjecting them to such things just to teach them “necessary life lessons” to spare them later on, is not the way to go because it subjects them to unnecessary abuse and should not be tolerated at all! These are lies we convince ourselves of to justify why we send them to school in an environment that is so far from being natural for them, keeping in mind that that’s not the same as “normal”. There are so many things in our society that are normal, but so far removed from being natural and that doesn’t change just because we convince ourselves of that being so otherwise. It’s why we have such gross feelings around things like this where we’re feeling bad and don’t understand why. While we do need to eventually let our children go, I don’t think it’s so necessary to do so at such a very young age. That feeling may go away after a few days or weeks but it’s not always so much because we have gotten over those fears, it’s more so because we have silenced that instinct inside of us and convinced ourselves that it’s not speaking truth. And in some cases that’s not a good thing to do ESPECIALLY when it comes to protecting our children. You’re supposed to have fleeting feelings when sending your children off with perfect strangers! I’d be more worried if you didn’t because that shows you have bigger detachment from your child which just isn’t natural and is more harmful to your relationship with them. In our society, we are very ‘parent focused’ and everything about children revolves around the needs of the adult over the child, right down to when the child needs to eat and sleep, when they get to relieve themselves and be loved and have affection to strictly make the parent’s/adult’s lives more convenient regardless as to what the child’s needs actually are. When we live off of saying g such as ‘Children are meant to be seen and not heard’ it’s no wonder why children live what they learn and grow up to be disrespectful because they have always been disrespected and told in not so many words, that their needs thoughts and feelings don’t matter to anyone, being trained by the generation that raised them. It may not seem to be relevant to school, but it is, more than we even want to admit because in putting our ingrained instincts aside to just go along with society, it matters far more than we even think and in fact, this is the age when we do it more often than not and don’t even realize it because it’s so far deeply ingrained in us not to question it at all.
Your kids may turn out ‘fine’ out of it all, but we should still want better for them since it just keeps the cycle of a messed up system going and goes far deeper than just to obvious.
In a world where they’re meant to stand out, why force them to fit in with everyone else? School just stifles this to every end. Fitting in in society has far more repercussions than it does benefits and it all starts with you going against your natural instincts as a parent.
