  • Hi people. Last year I hiked from Westminster Bridge in London to Portsmouth over 7 days. It was a brilliant adventure through 4 counties and was around 110 miles long. This is a 4k narrated video of the adventure. I don't often narrate my videos but want to do them more going forward, so hope you like it :)
The route initially went via the River Thames path via Battersea, Hammersmith, Richmond, Kingston-upon-Thames, Hampton, Walton-upon-Thames, then to Weybridge. I then followed the River Wey Navigation to Guildford, took a little detour along the North Downs Way before going back alongside the River Wey to Godalming. After this I went via Thursley Common to Hazlemere, then via Blackdown, Midhurst, South Downs Way for a bit, Havant, Langstone, and onto Hayling Island and along the coast to Portsmouth. I planned the route online and thought it looked promising and would be a scenic route to the coast which is why I went for it.
The next episode will hopefully be from Cherbourg to Caen this summer if all goes to plan. Then I will do another segment of Caen to Paris at some point. Finishing hopefully a London to Paris hike. If interested in following my adventures then feel free to subscribe.
If you're interested in other 4k walking videos or of long distance bicycle trips that I've created then check out my channel. (most aren't narrated just footage and pics mixed in time with music).

Great video. You have done the walk justice. I have been lucky to spend most of my life living along your route. Weybridge, Pyrford, Guildford, Hindhead, Midhurst and Hayling Island. I did the 12 mile walk from Weybridge to Guildford a few years ago and hardly saw anyone. Thanks for the memories.

Thanks buddy 👍 I really appreciate the nice comment. Some great places you've lived in. Yeah the river wey navigation was very calming and peaceful, didn't see many people either. Have a great week.

Really enjoyed your video. I am originally from Addiscombe, in Croydon but I have lived in Portsmouth most of my life. I live in a town called Waterlooville, and if I travel by car South, I can be by the sea in 10 minutes, and if I travel 10 minutes North !!! I am in the country. Hayling Island is a must. You have got my juices flowing now .. Time to get out my walking gear. Good luck with your next adventure.

Good effort, I live in the Langstone area so i'm familiar with the latter stages of your walk, hope you enjoyed our countryside, I can recommend the South Downs Way (that's another 110 miles), although it's been ten years since I completed it.

Cheers buddy. Yeah thought Langstone was a really nice point to reach the coast at, nice area and enjoyed hiking along the haying island coast, and seeing the countryside around south downs national park. Will have to try out the south downs way one day. Cheers for the recommendation. ATB 👍

Loved watching this one Robbie, It almost was like being there. Now it took 7 days, so where did you stay at nights? Did you camp or stay at hostels? It was interesting seeing those deer in the field.

Cheers Ian 👍 First three days I got the train home each night, as ended at railway stations. Guildford to Portsmouth took four days - was planning on staying in hotels had them all planned out and everything but they would have been a bit pricey. And my dad wanted a trip away so he got a caravan at a holiday park in Chichester and took me to and from the end points/start points each day which was nice of him. He joined me at different points of the walk and did his own thing. Next year I'm planning on bivvying in Normandy, got a lightweight bivvy bag which shouldn't be too bad for my back. Thanks and hope all is well.
