I'm 62 years old, and I was on a compounded estrogen/testosterone cream and a progesterone pill. After several years on it, I started having post menopausal bleeding. The gynecologist I saw told me all my symptoms pointed to endometrial cancer, which is caused from too much estrogen and not enough progesterone. I had a pelvic ultrasound that was abnormal and an MRI that was abnormal, but the biopsy didn't show cancer. The gynecologist told me to stop taking hormones. I have an appointment with a surgeon because I need a hysterectomy. The doctor who was prescribing my hormones told me to go back on them because the cancer risk is so low. I'm not sure who to listen to now.
I am so glad that my sexual health provider suggested I listen to your podcast a couple years back. I have learned so much about how a female body works. I'm trying to warn other younger ladies about this, but sadly no one really wants to listen. This information needs to get to the younger generation so that they have the knowledge to take care of themselves in their older years. That is my wish.
So, I guess it's up to Gen X ladies to lead in this? _With pleasure!_ 😉 I'm 57 and have been on HRT for almost seven months. Feeling better, but I'm still not sleeping well. I'm so grateful to the North American Menopause Society for listing local approved providers. My _female_ GP wouldn't even discuss putting me on HRT 😞
After watching various videos including yours, I asked my gyn for HRT about 6 months ago. I was already using the estradiol cream. Recently, after 6 months of using the HRT I decided to stop because my lupus seemed to be flaring and I was experiencing bright red facial rashes all the time. A few days after discontinuing the HRT the rash has subsided. I did leave a message with my gyn asking about this, but no one called me back, so I made the decision on my own.
Dr. Casperson, I've been taking 200mg of progesterone for about 1.5 yrs. Yesterday I saw a new menopause provider and she asked me why I was taking 200mg and that I should be taking 100mg. What I was told is that progesterone works well for sleep and that it doesn't hurt to take 200mg. What do you recommend?
@@tracyC7414 she had osteoporosis and congelative heart failure, and it was one of the main reasons my doctor and I decided to start HRT when I was 45 inimitable perimenopause. I have been following Dr Casperson and Dr Haver, learning a lot and realizing it was definitely the right decision for me and my longevity . Best wishes on your journey 💜
I use estradiol gel and I’m on progesterone pessaries 200mg because I was concerned about my liver having to process it orally … what I thought I heard you say in this video is that it’s the estradiol that could even though it’s rare that it would cause blood clots if taken orally … would it be safe for me to take the progesterone micronised body identical orally …if I have had a fatty liver? Thanks in advance I’m due for my 3 monthly review with my GP in a week s time It would be helpful to have this clarified
Yes, would like a video on the problems with the WHI study.

Always get second opinions

What helps with teeth and gum issues? I noticed my vision getting bad too. I'm on hrt. I'm 42
Carnivore diet has helped many people with this issue.

I have family genetics of heart disease n my cardiologist suggested that I not take hrt. Yr thoughts?
Your cardiologist is not smart guy , find someone else.
I was out on HRT because my mom had heart disease.

HRT is supposed to protect your heart. Go seek a better dr.
