It's such a precious song; known it for years. :) When I was a child, I didn't understand the phrase "and exchange it someday for a crown". As a beliver who's walked with God for years, it means so much more now. That our crosses we carry (suffering, trials, day-to-day life) is a way to partake of how Christ suffered for us. And one day, we're going to lay them down. It's going to be a beautiful day!!!! Beauiful singing, my dear friend! And congratulations on the milestones that have been reached! Praise God for leading others for encouragement and to glorify Him!
Nothing wrong with the cross as a Christian symbol for the amazing love of God: On a cross, He atoned for our sins and bought us free! The cross should just be empty today, not like in them Catholic churches, with a perpetual suffering Jesus, which is not Jesus Christ today: For two millennia now He sat at the right hand of the Father in Heaven, waiting to descend ones again, but this time not as the suffering Christ, Messiah Ben Joseph, but as the conquering and ruling Christ, Messiah Ben David! Christ and Messiah are two words meaning the exact same thing: Anointed One! TODAY Jesus Christ is the Father of our faith and the Pride and Lion of Judah! The suffering were ones and for all, two thousand years ago, and only the good of the one righteous could pay for our sins on that cross. The two thieves at His side could not even pay for their own sins! Very beautiful version, as always, and I much look forward to your series on the topic. God Bless and peace and grace be with all my brothers and sisters in Christ.
Yes you’re right. The empty cross is a wonderful Christian symbol of what Jesus did for us! We do not want to keep Him on the cross. He rose again! As for the series, there will probably be one more as I have, in the past, done 4 hymns when I do these type of series. I just didn’t plan to do it this time but have somehow done it anyway!

What a day that will be! May we allow Him to give us the strength to carry that cross until that exchange takes place. God bless this week, friend!

Such a classic! Praise God for what He did for each one of us at the cross!
