- There would indeed be a drought without the fountain spoken of in this song. We have hope that we wouldn't otherwise have because this fountain washes away our guilty stains and sins, saves us, causes us to become like Jesus and treat others with His love. It is the only love that can ransom us from the grave. That's power! What a fountain!

I am so blessed and thankful for these old gospel hymns, dating back back to the 1800s .There is a song , name your blessings one by one by one. I sure can't count all of mine. I like to remind people that is such a blessing,just to be able to go to the bank gas station, grocery store,go home and fix our with no guards at the doors,. Also that I was borned In the United States of America, praise God for that blessing...
Agreed. Society often encourages us to fixate on all that is wrong with life when our blessings are actually many! We woke up this morning, for example! May the Lord continue to bless you each day as you come closer to Him!

Translated into many languages, this is one of the very first hymns I learnt. The first time I heard, tears rolled down my eyes and it's been the same ever since.
