I would’ve stole your spot by the time it started reversing. A good driver would dip into the spot and angle vehicle out ready to complete the reverse already. Here you have to be parallel and ahead of the spot which is not natural for “claiming” “taking” “declaring” a spot. It’s very limited in defense driving for parking
