This reminds me of my childhood. I lost everything and everyone I knew in one day. My 12 year old brother was dead and our mom went to jail for murder. That was 29 years ago, but I had some Amazing families who I lived with until the courts finally placed me with some relatives to raise me! I'm forever grateful to those foster families!

@@cristyluv1205 I'm glad you are able to Foster children. All kids need love, a lot will probably act out and be defiant because of past trauma. (that's how I was). Don't give up on them no matter how much they push you! It takes strong people to love people who have been through trauma.
Make sure you are developed enough mentally to even parent. Parenting isn’t a game or joke. It’s the real deal. Make sure your life is stable and you have your ish together before bringing someone else into your life. That includes safety with family and friends.
I started fostercare when I was 23. I am 63 now . We fostered 60 and adopted 10. My memoir is " The Will of a Wildflower". It is a recommended reading for social work students interested in working in child welfare.
I know...that IS the hardest part of fostering. What helps me is to think about it this way - I am a home that can be safe for this kid and help him/her weather this really tough situation until they go home. You still make a tremendous impact and you do it for them :)
Its is hard, very hard and it rips your heart out when they leave or reject you. Yet it is hard cause everything that is worth it is hard. And think about how hard life is for the kids. Nothing compared to how we as Foster parents feel.
not living with you doesn't always mean goodbye. many foster parents keep in touch with the families after reunification, older kids can remember your phone number and call you or email you, and many kids reach out in adulthood to the families that impacted them.
None of you are developed enough mentally to even parent. Parenting isn’t a game or joke. It’s the real deal. Make sure your life is stable and you have your ish together before bringing someone else into your life. That includes safety with family and friends.
Great tips. I am a former foster parent who relocated down south and am considering getting back into it. I am also looking to start a support group for some church members who are fostering and these tips coupled with my 15 years experience as a foster parent I feel will really help. Thx for providing this valuable information for new foster parents. I was a Foster Mom so I could help some of the children I met in troubled teen industry as a Psych Nurse. I wanted to share that this appears to be an unwise move in mwny cases. Innocent caring humans should be warned that if you become a Foster Mom to someone in DJJ after their mom was murdered often leads to your loved ones suddenly dying within a few years. This happened to me, so I feel obligated as a USVet Chaplain Assistant to warn others. TY Foster Parents for your genorosity & love!❤❤❤
I think a great thing would also be better if they actually talked to you about phone calls . What to expect how to handle bad behavior from bio parents . I wish someone would have prepared me for that..
I raised kids from the time i was 5. I got rapped by an aged out black foster kid 4 months before i turned 3. I had 100s of brothers and sisters throughout my childhood. One of my favorite memories is when i walked into my baby brother Raymond, who had down syndrome had coated his entire room top to bottom with a lovely coating of poop. It really was a work of art. I don't know how he did it from inside his crib. Lol. I slowly walked backwards to school without saying a word. I think the room just got rebuilt. That's a thing about being a foster parent,, keep a handy man handy. Kids can be extremely destructive. My next poopiful memory was my first day of second grade and i got to wear pants for the first time, i was changing mimi and she exorcism diarrheaed all over me. That wasn't so funny. Plus i got beat for being late and wearing a wrinkled plaid uniform. I miss my little sister with spina bifida though. She was so sweet.
I was thinking that maybe its gonna be my future because I'm very dedicated mom and cannot have more children (I have a 6yo son) but I'm too of an empath for that I think, I was crying whole video 😢

In process of getting licensed. As a foster parent, when we take them to the DR and they have an ear infection. Can we say give them antibiotics? Or do we have to get permission from caseworker or bio parent first
From what I know you have to have a prescription. You don't have to ask the case worker as long as a Dr has signed off and you have PROOF. Because they will ALWAYS ask for a paper trail.
As a biological child of foster parents ive got some tip almost knowone ever talks about in foster care because they dont care I think. If you thinking about getting into foster care and want to have multiple foster children but you have 1 biological child, dont do it. Because you are getting verry bussy with foster children they need extra care there behavior is different then biological children because of children. So that means there will be a lot of times you neglet your biological child meanimg they feel lonely there will be times they will feel they dont belong. They may feel a competition for love because the foster gets all the attention. With all consecuences in the futhure. Also some foster children also will be jealous on your child and will attack them. So make sure when you go in fostercare and you have biological children that you have 2 of them at least. Also biological children are a key to make caring for a foster succeed or not. Moster fosters first go talk to a kid then to an adult so your biological child will hear storys from the foster first. Some foster kids wont talk to adults because the adults are the ones that hurt them or the ones that took them away from there parents so trust in adults is verry low so when you have a biological child thats a huge plus but make sure you have 2 of them. Because when your an fosterparent with a biological child you may think your at the front line. But your not you biological is at the front line and the case workers and everyone else in fostercare does not care about your biochild. Biochildren in foster care are invissible theyre almost disposable. Also make sure you spent time with your biochildren every week talk to them and take them serious. The foster children are damaged for life already. There is no need to let your biological child get damaged for life. Make sure they know and feel that someones cares about them to. Believe me it can be really lonely as a biochild from foster parents your invisible 🫥
Remember it can go both ways. I dislike the way you’re dehumanising the foster kids by saying they’re “damaged for life”. It’s honestly disgusting. You should probably think about it from the other perspective too. My previous foster cater had a adopted from birth daughter, and she was always number one out of the kids. Do you understand how damaging that can be? I don’t think you’d ever understand how the foster kids in your household felt, and I don’t think that foster parents should also have bio kids. You’re household was the exception, not the rule. I felt so invisible, like a spare part and a source of money
Aw dude- I'm really sorry all that stuff happened to you. That is NOT ok. Your insight, is actually very, very good, and honestly, quite true. I myself, will be going into the system, with two siblings soon, if all goes well, and I came to this video, to know what to expect. No. I am 63 and have had to take my 9 year old granddaughter in as a foster child. Even though I'm her grandmother, I still have to be licensed. It's a long process but worth it.

Listen kid, you’re not going to die and I’ll tell you exactly how to get a real family and be taken care of for the rest of your life. Join the US Army, best decision I ever made. Lots of aged out foster kids do this, one of my best friends who’s a veteran was a faster kid and he was a signal soldier, he helps me with securing my communication and it’s a really good option. It’s not as tough physically as it was when I was in around 2010. And the NCO’s have to be nicer to you. But you’ll get a family, your NCO’s and Officers will be your parents, you’ll have a lot of big brother and big sisters who are specialists and they’ll look out for you and probably buy beer for you before you turn 21 lol. They (NCO’s and Officers) actually are supposed to care about you believe it or not, it’s in the training and indoctrination. You’ll be a specialist in three years which means NCOs and Officers can’t fuck with you as much and then after that you’ll be a junior NCO and it will be your job to care about some 18 year old kid, you’ll be about 22 24 or so maybe 27 if your MOS doesn’t rank up fast or you’re lazy or bad at the job somehow, which is no big deal plenty of bad soldiers out there make it to retirement these days of perpetual deployments every ten or twelve years or so. And the likely hood of dying is .65% here’s the math if you care about it in parentheses if not just skip it (Total deaths since Vietnam: Approximately 65,302 Total Army enlistments since Vietnam: An estimate of millions if we assume total enlistment figure of 10 million since Vietnam, the very rough estimate would be: (65,302 / 10,000,000) * 100=.65%) The other thing that’s cool besides the free college, the life long free medical care from the VA, is that society generally accepts that after an army career you become disabled and literally everyone who joins unless they’re stupid and don’t pursue this benefit get what’s called a disability rating from the Va, you’ll at bare minimum get like 50% and that’s 1200 bucks a month for nothing other than not getting kicked out for committing some kind of felony. It’s very easy to get 100% service connection disability which is 3600 a month so you don’t have to work if you don’t want to and you live a sort of humble ish life. When I say that it’s really not that humble like you can still live in a city just not NYC if LA you can still eat at restaurants sometimes just not super fancy ones more like diners and such, you can even buy a significant amount of weed and alcohol if you want you’re not gonna drive a Mercedes at least a good one but you’ll have a car you can drive back and fourth across the country with a few times, might even be able to support a girlfriend that doesn’t work really if you’re smart with your finances and that’s just if you don’t want to work. Me and that foster kid who aged out and joined the army are doing all that without working. So in summation, you’re about to go on the most thrilling adventure of your life, sign up as soon as you can, the army is one of those things the younger you join the more you will get out of it. I wish you luck it’s not as scary as it sounds, best decision I ever made.

Get plugged in with a church bc church is such a great way to find community. You have a true father that adores you and knows how you feel. Praying. Do we have option to not be put in positions where the child has to go back to their parents and or adoptive parents? I am afraid we get attached and then have to rehome the children.
That fear is what keeping so many kids in foster care. We can't control the future of the kids, we just have to do what we can today with what we know. We know there are thousands of kids who need help, so we help them even if that means it might break your heart if they leave your home.
I live in England and I was so ready to begin my application for fostering, but then I got really cold feet out of nowhere. I had wanted to be a foster carer for almost 8 years, but then I got really scared and worried. I didn't think I could do it, I worried if the kids come with lice and a whole bunch of other thoughts flooded my mind.
the unspoken rule is "your money should not be spent on your foster kids" but a lot of the time you want to buy little extras for that foster child. And they only give you enough money for the child's expenses, and if you do it correctly there will NOT be a penny left over for your personal stuff. So fostering is not profitable but it is moral and a fantastic thing to do.
As a fosterchild ones I learnt that it's seen as an income source. It's not seen as a well meant complete child upbringing process It's like you have a bill towards the Foster parents. There is a few that love kids but the rest of them should be in prison.

Hello! It would be best to speak with an attorney in your state because state laws differ when it comes to foster care. If you have a foster child, my guess is that there is still a case open for that child in juvenile court and there are already lawyers involved. You will want to speak with an attorney who is experienced with the juvenile court system in your state to get some help.

No their not. The abuse starts and bribing continues while in the room alone your getting for reason. That's even worse on 12yr olds. I no been forced thru it.

1.You are a paid baby theif for the state. 2.sometimes the kids are there in foster care for little to no reason. 3. Even if the kids are there for some kind of reason they don't belong with foster care providers they belong with immediate or extended family. 4. This country has one Nation under God on its money and thou shalt not steal is a mistranslation. In reality its thou shalt not kidnap. I would be begging God for forgiveness if you have done ANYTHING besides work your BUTT off towards reunification. 5. You are not a parent you are a foster care provider you don't have ANY right to block visits or take a child out of state or find ways to block the real family from getting hospital training for medically complex kids. 6. You don't have the right to impose your culture and religion on someone else's child. 7. You don't have ANY moral right to go to court over these kids they are not yours and the only way to make it not a conflict of interests for them to be in your home is that you have no option to make these kids a permanent part of your household. That means foster care providers should NEVER be allowed to legally adopt their charges. If the child cannot go back home or to an immediate or distant relative they should be put up to be under a guardianship with someone who has no incentive to block reunification. That way you will not be tempted to undermine or sabotage the real parents. And you should not be giving adoption stipends to these people EITHER! If reunification fails the people who get a guardianship over the kid first of all should not be the foster care providers and secondly should have to pay 40,000 dollars to the kids family to be put into a trust for all siblings and cousins that stay with the real family to be tested for aptitude and trained for an appropriate trade. And the state should have to cough up three times that amount for every kid they never return towards that purpose as well. There is far too much federal funding going towards baby snatching and it is time to give back to the families that are being destroyed by it. The government right now is paying ten times the amount to permanently destroy families rather than put that money into family restoration.
Every situation is different. There are many children stuck in the system now that have no other options. We had three children for over a year that returning to parents has never been an option. They trafficked their own kids since at least age 4. They were homeless at one point. No other family members stepped up. Fostering provided them homes and families that loved them. We had another child for two and a half years that the plan was always to return to mom when she was ready. I was happy to write the letter of support for mom and witness their reunification. It is hard on the foster parents as well, saying goodbye is often goodbye forever. We are experiencing that today.

You can make a video based on someone else's content but you do need to credit Zero2Five at the start. I'm not playing the 'oh it's just by chance' game. Stop lying and just credit them.
my advice is never do it it will be the biggest mistake you will ever make in your life you will loose your biological children if you want to go to hell and back start foster caring and have a good Lawyer ready remember these children are troubles children they will lie daily they know the system
Don’t do it. It will break you down no matter how strong you think you are unless you want a baby or you are around the age to retire and just want to help out a kid. Caseworkers are unsupportive, bio families are impossible to deal with and foster kids will hate you for being alive.

I’m 22 & really want to foster. I know I am legally eligible but I feel too young. I wish I could hear from other young foster parents
I feel that, I’m 19 and when I hit 21 my army contract ends and I wanna foster.
Find a family that you can babysit for and shadow daily life.

I wanted to share that this appears to be an unwise move in mwny cases. Innocent caring humans should be warned that if you become a Foster Mom to someone in DJJ after their mom was murdered often leads to your loved ones suddenly dying within a few years. I raised kids from the time i was 5. I got rapped by an aged out black foster kid 4 months before i turned 3. I had 100s of brothers and sisters throughout my childhood. One of my favorite memories is when i walked into my baby brother Raymond, who had down syndrome had coated his entire room top to bottom with a lovely coating of poop. It really was a work of art. I don't know how he did it from inside his crib. Lol. I slowly walked backwards to school without saying a word. I think the room just got rebuilt. That's a thing about being a foster parent,, keep a handy man handy. Kids can be extremely destructive. My next poopiful memory was my first day of second grade and i got to wear pants for the first time, i was changing mimi and she exorcism diarrheaed all over me. That wasn't so funny. Plus i got beat for being late and wearing a wrinkled plaid uniform. I miss my little sister with spina bifida though. She was so sweet.

In process of getting licensed. As a foster parent, when we take them to the DR and they have an ear infection. Can we say give them antibiotics? Or do we have to get permission from caseworker or bio parent first
From what I know you have to have a prescription. You don't have to ask the case worker as long as a Dr has signed off and you have PROOF. Because they will ALWAYS ask for a paper trail.
As a biological child of foster parents ive got some tip almost knowone ever talks about in foster care because they dont care I think.
If you thinking about getting into foster care and want to have multiple foster children but you have 1 biological child, dont do it. Because you are getting verry bussy with foster children they need extra care there behavior is different then biological children because of children. So that means there will be a lot of times you neglet your biological child meanimg they feel lonely there will be times they will feel they dont belong. They may feel a competition for love because the foster gets all the attention. With all consecuences in the futhure.
Also some foster children also will be jealous on your child and will attack them. So make sure when you go in fostercare and you have biological children that you have 2 of them at least.
Also biological children are a key to make caring for a foster succeed or not. Moster fosters first go talk to a kid then to an adult so your biological child will hear storys from the foster first. Some foster kids wont talk to adults because the adults are the ones that hurt them or the ones that took them away from there parents so trust in adults is verry low so when you have a biological child thats a huge plus but make sure you have 2 of them. Because when your an fosterparent with a biological child you may think your at the front line. But your not you biological is at the front line and the case workers and everyone else in fostercare does not care about your biochild. Biochildren in foster care are invissible theyre almost disposable. Also make sure you spent time with your biochildren every week talk to them and take them serious. The foster children are damaged for life already. There is no need to let your biological child get damaged for life. Make sure they know and feel that someones cares about them to.
Believe me it can be really lonely as a biochild from foster parents your invisible 🫥
Remember it can go both ways. I dislike the way you’re dehumanising the foster kids by saying they’re “damaged for life”. It’s honestly disgusting.
You should probably think about it from the other perspective too. My previous foster cater had a adopted from birth daughter, and she was always number one out of the kids. Do you understand how damaging that can be? I don’t think you’d ever understand how the foster kids in your household felt, and I don’t think that foster parents should also have bio kids.

Listen kid, you’re not going to die and I’ll tell you exactly how to get a real family and be taken care of for the rest of your life. Join the US Army, best decision I ever made. Lots of aged out foster kids do this, one of my best friends who’s a veteran was a faster kid and he was a signal soldier, he helps me with securing my communication and it’s a really good option. It’s not as tough physically as it was when I was in around 2010. And the NCO’s have to be nicer to you. But you’ll get a family, your NCO’s and Officers will be your parents, you’ll have a lot of big brother and big sisters who are specialists and they’ll look out for you and probably buy beer for you before you turn 21 lol. They (NCO’s and Officers) actually are supposed to care about you believe it or not, it’s in the training and indoctrination. You’ll be a specialist in three years which means NCOs and Officers can’t fuck with you as much and then after that you’ll be a junior NCO and it will be your job to care about some 18 year old kid, you’ll be about 22 24 or so maybe 27 if your MOS doesn’t rank up fast or you’re lazy or bad at the job somehow, which is no big deal plenty of bad soldiers out there make it to retirement these days of perpetual deployments every ten or twelve years or so. And the likely hood of dying is .65% here’s the math if you care about it in parentheses if not just skip it (Total deaths since Vietnam: Approximately 65,302

The other thing that’s cool besides the free college, the life long free medical care from the VA, is that society generally accepts that after an army career you become disabled and literally everyone who joins unless they’re stupid and don’t pursue this benefit get what’s called a disability rating from the Va, you’ll at bare minimum get like 50% and that’s 1200 bucks a month for nothing other than not getting kicked out for committing some kind of felony. It’s very easy to get 100% service connection disability which is 3600 a month so you don’t have to work if you don’t want to and you live a sort of humble ish life. When I say that it’s really not that humble like you can still live in a city just not NYC if LA you can still eat at restaurants sometimes just not super fancy ones more like diners and such, you can even buy a significant amount of weed and alcohol if you want you’re not gonna drive a Mercedes at least a good one but you’ll have a car you can drive back and fourth across the country with a few times, might even be able to support a girlfriend that doesn’t work really if you’re smart with your finances and that’s just if you don’t want to work. Me and that foster kid who aged out and joined the army are doing all that without working. So in summation, you’re about to go on the most thrilling adventure of your life, sign up as soon as you can, the army is one of those things the younger you join the more you will get out of it. I wish you luck it’s not as scary as it sounds, best decision I ever made.

I have a question. Should my husband and I home school our foster son?
Do we have option to not be put in positions where the child has to go back to their parents and or adoptive parents? I am afraid we get attached and then have to rehome the children.
That fear is what keeping so many kids in foster care. We can't control the future of the kids, we just have to do what we can today with what we know. We know there are thousands of kids who need help, so we help them even if that means it might break your heart if they leave your home.

Well you typically have to be able to take care of yourself. But my guess is that every foster care agency has their own requirements.
the unspoken rule is "your money should not be spent on your foster kids" but a lot of the time you want to buy little extras for that foster child. And they only give you enough money for the child's expenses, and if you do it correctly there will NOT be a penny left over for your personal stuff. So fostering is not profitable but it is moral and a fantastic thing to do.
What do you call them “my kid” and what do they call you?

Hello! It would be best to speak with an attorney in your state because state laws differ when it comes to foster care. If you have a foster child, my guess is that there is still a case open for that child in juvenile court and there are already lawyers involved. You will want to speak with an attorney who is experienced with the juvenile court system in your state to get some help.

3. Even if the kids are there for some kind of reason they don't belong with foster care providers they belong with immediate or extended family.
4. This country has one Nation under God on its money and thou shalt not steal is a mistranslation. In reality its thou shalt not kidnap. I would be begging God for forgiveness if you have done ANYTHING besides work your BUTT off towards reunification.
5. You are not a parent you are a foster care provider you don't have ANY right to block visits or take a child out of state or find ways to block the real family from getting hospital training for medically complex kids.
6. You don't have the right to impose your culture and religion on someone else's child.
7. You don't have ANY moral right to go to court over these kids they are not yours and the only way to make it not a conflict of interests for them to be in your home is that you have no option to make these kids a permanent part of your household. That means foster care providers should NEVER be allowed to legally adopt their charges. If the child cannot go back home or to an immediate or distant relative they should be put up to be under a guardianship with someone who has no incentive to block reunification. That way you will not be tempted to undermine or sabotage the real parents. And you should not be giving adoption stipends to these people EITHER! If reunification fails the people who get a guardianship over the kid first of all should not be the foster care providers and secondly should have to pay 40,000 dollars to the kids family to be put into a trust for all siblings and cousins that stay with the real family to be tested for aptitude and trained for an appropriate trade. And the state should have to cough up three times that amount for every kid they never return towards that purpose as well. There is far too much federal funding going towards baby snatching and it is time to give back to the families that are being destroyed by it. The government right now is paying ten times the amount to permanently destroy families rather than put that money into family restoration.

Why? are you against fosters and adopting.
Every situation is different. There are many children stuck in the system now that have no other options. We had three children for over a year that returning to parents has never been an option. They trafficked their own kids since at least age 4. They were homeless at one point. No other family members stepped up. Fostering provided them homes and families that loved them. We had another child for two and a half years that the plan was always to return to mom when she was ready. I was happy to write the letter of support for mom and witness their reunification. It is hard on the foster parents as well, saying goodbye is often goodbye forever. We are experiencing that today.

Don’t do it. It will break you down no matter how strong you think you are unless you want a baby or you are around the age to retire and just want to help out a kid. Caseworkers are unsupportive, bio families are impossible to deal with and foster kids will hate you for being alive.
