Excited to try this out once it hits Steam.
On Steam there's a game with very close idea called Soulslinger, for what I've read it's better, but take it with a pinch of salt, haven't played any of the two.

@@UnknownRex The devs have said it's their intention to release on Steam once they're out of Early Access, so it should, eventually.
the game's very good and they've got a blog going back years detailing their design philosophy, in case that's a thing you're interested in. also, it's the dudes from bulletstorm and painkiller making it, so that's cool.

This game is great a few notes.
you can unlock the shop where you can buy consumable ammo
The bolty you need to hold your shots for more damage
Spam your spell to save ammo
The orb reveals targets to hit kill 3 for a reward
The epic thing blows but the game is worth it honestly

Soap bubble floating with book on the ground thing...
Whenever you were crossing over it, those arcane lines started to form under your feet. I think you have to stand or crouch there right under where the soap bubble appears while facing the book. Like I think you're supposed to spend some time there like 10 seconds or 15 seconds "studying the book".
If nothing happens once all the lines fill in, try looking around without moving to see if it's highlighting something on the map for you or something.
And check the map before and after maybe. But it's definitely something you have to do by standing still right in the center of that area.
Not certain but it's a trope-fitting guess
You might have to keep your targeting rectacle on it while standing there long enough for that arcane symbol to finish forming.

Actually, looking through it reveals small "puppet" things in the environment you have to shoot, like 4 or 5 or so.
The improvement here is impressive. Props to the devs. I'd like to see a mode for some Hell Divers type co-op here.

I spent 35 hour in the first early access release. Really awesome game with good graphics and gameplay. Excited to try this update out ...
I don't know why but I get Hellgate: London vibes from this game.
you circle around the bubbles while in a trance state, and shoot through it when you find the hidden targets that can only be seen through the bubble.
I just booted this back up and i agree, the new player experience is much improved, very important changes to progression all around.
You can buy ammo resupplies from a merchant unlocked through the corridor of red sparks in the hermitage. Also if you're struggling with the first boss try the Hangfire revolver paired with Bile Cyst light spell.

If they ever decide to release it on Steam, I'll buy it, otherwise I'll forget this exists.

Zero Sievert is an amazing game. Dont listen to this guy. That game will give you plenty of "oh sh#t" moments. Lots of "pucker factor" in zero sievert, which is what makes it so good:)

So i bought witchfire after sing this video and i absolutely love it, ive been basically playing it for 2 days straigt and im now through most of the content that is available and im hoping more gets added soon.
This game is a perfect example of why devs shouldn't take the epic deal. Barely anyone knew this existed and was in EA.

The tantrum that is this brand loyalty to a streaming platform is weird. I picked it up on Epic to play it and it has been a blast. If you don't want to, ok, you don't have to!
I would buy it on epic if it wasn't the same store that peddles and allows NFT shovelware scams and since the game isn't published by epic so it'll be available elsewhere eventually. The Epic store makes Steam look like they have quality standards when all Steam does is ban Crypto and AI generated assets because on Epic you can even find reuploads of stolen open source games made to peddle NFTs.
It's a shame good games get locked to a storefront that sells scammier videogames than even Steam which used to be controversial for lowering contribution standards.
Epic pay their dev bills while it's EA, offsetting sales lost (and then some). They get to round out the rough edges without being in the spotlight and then make a big launch for 1.0 on Epic and Steam. I can see why small devs might take that deal.
Think alot of people know about it and hate Epic - we are just waiting for the Steam release

@@Tonaldo90 Not bending over for Epics greed encourages them to abandon their exclusivity nonsense. If Epic actually tried to compete for "true gamers" with Steam by making a launcher worth a crap, they might gain traction, but they wont and dont even seem capable of doing it. Compared to Steam, Epics launcher is a dumpster fire of missing features and bad performance.

Omg, I didn't expect It to develop at all tbh, because a friend told me that most of the early access games wouldn't attract enough people to move on. Because I'm still pretty new to gaming this was one of my first if not the first game I actually bought. I thought I didn't made progress because I'm a noob and It was at ,,normal'' difficulty comparing it to demanding games such as dark souls, of which I've heard is one of the most difficult games there are (never played it before).

For folks who are waiting for a Steam release: the devs have stated that they will release on Steam once they are out of early access. It sucks, but for what it's worth, they've been happy with how Epic has treated them.
The setting kinda reminds of of the action movie "Hansel & Gretel". :D

Devs should understarnd that only blogers and streamers will still be playing this game until it releases on steam. There are very few people who is fine with epic store crap

I remember watching the teaser 6 years ago, I thought that this game was cancelled and forgotten about it.
I like it. Too many games though, it's been a while. Darktide, Forever Winter, Witchfire, Space Marine 2, good times.
This game looks freaking great.
I liked the revolver. I do like the design of the weapons and the detail to the map and landscape is very fun. Is there more story to this or cut scenes? or is this more like Fallout where there IS story but basically you just do you? Also I hope I hope there will be more work on creating an array of enemies not just similar design repeated but upgraded. They should take some more inspiration from OG doom and The Suffering. I think I preferred it at original difficulty they just should give more weapon or magical edges to be made or found. More mechanics to building, upgrading items or magic collection or enhancement almost Last of Us style would be perfect.
I'm hoping this comes to consoles as I really like this.
For the boss fight you just need to ignore the adds. its a waste of ammo and you can just run lapse around the arena, they are pretty slow.

This seems like the non-PvP version of Hunt: Showdown that I have seen people ask for. Although it doesn't appear to have coop, so that is a mark against it.

This game has one of the best starting feelings to a game - it feels amazing. But as you get into it they have made some weird choices that make the game hard to play unless you know some really counterintuitive things about how they have designed it. This is a game about leveling where you basically shoouldnt level otherwise you screw yourself. They need to fix this game dynamic and this will become one of the best fps games

People didn’t like the revolver? That is weird, it is my favorite weapon in the game. It reminds me of the Halo CE pistol and getting headshots with it is stupid satisfying.

Looks like they sliced off 90% of enemy health and instead have a lot of fodder enemies. Kinda like the difference between Quake and Doom.
You need to record at 1440p AT LEAST, even if you play at 1080p

Hint for those playing it for the first time, get to level 10 and then go about unlocking your guns and gear, if you level up your character that is what increases the difficulty, levelling up your guns is easier at lower character levels... thats what I found, that and those armored genadiers are a PITA 🤬

I don't have any problem with Epic for single player games. It's purely a launcher at that point and it's ability to turn on the game that I want to play has never failed me.🤣

I'm not too sure why it matters if it's on Steam or not for so many people, i have it, and it's really cool. I doubt it would play differently on Steam, I could understand if people didnt want to buy it because it was in early access, that would make sense to me. Some peoples loyalty to Steam amazes me

As I understand it it's because the thumb has a strong enough pulse that it can give you false reading
My best way to describe this game is a souls like destiny extraction rouguelike... Overall its a pretty solid game...
