When you get such a nice guitar in your hands, and you hear how good it is..... Then you just gotta get it!!! Good for you and don't look back... I'm a Bluegrass jammer and have Martin d28 Custom ....
Your dog is jealous of your new thing but he feels guilty for feeling jealous. I have a K&K loaded 2020 D18, it is so good, beyond perfect but my dream box is the D42. You deserve it and have great taste.
Nice video - and that's a special guitar! The D-42 is my favorite "high end" Standard Series Martin; it just ticks all the boxes for me. If you want bling, it's perfect. I prefer the fretboard inlays on the 42 (which used to be on pre-war 45's), and I don't need the abalone (in this case Abalam, not real shell Abalone anymore) all around the body (sides and back). The other upgrade from the D-41 is that the back of the neck is gloss, which I like (since I'm not usually sweating playing under hot lights). Just the perfect Martin (for *me*). Congrats.
Fair question. It's hard to put into words. Maybe I should do a comparison video. The difference in sound is somewhat subtle to my ears, but at the same time the two guitars feel very different if that makes sense. They seem to complement each other. I like trying both on different songs. Some sound better on the D18 while others on the D42.
Nice super guitar! Congrats! What year is this guitar ??

Great review for a regular joe like myself.
Nice guitar and nice playing!
Nice review. Compared to the D18, how would you describe the difference in sound. I’m currently in the market for a new guitar. Thanks.

You're a wonderful player! So how do you like the D-42 compared to the D-18?
Thank you!! In truth, I love both. It's like having two kids 🙂. You gotta love and play with both so they don't get jealous of each other.
Blackbird, Dust In The Wind, no idea, Fake Plastic Trees, Street Spirit.
Sounds amazing.
