⚠️ For Grams chicken: Cook at 350 for ONE hour if you want extra juices, Cook at 350 for 90 minutes if you want less juice, but chicken that is more well done.
I made Grams chicken!! I was so excited to try it cuz i wanted to experiment a lil with my left overs n random veg that needed to be used. I used all the same amounts of ingredients but didnt have brown sugar so used coconut sugar. Added garlic powder and some oregano. Also added in some sliced onions n some sliced carrots (kinda thin slice) in with the chicken and added a few small broccoli pieces at the last 15 min of cooking. We loved it!!! Sooo good, wholesome and versatile. The fact that it's someones grams recipe somehow makes it even a lil bit better🤗❤️
i love slow cooker or pressure cooker for the chicken meal, saves cleaning stove, one pot meal. a good rice cooker with a steam basket can cook the veg too again one pot. also they all have timers in case you fall asleep or get busy . then it goes to keep warm. cant go wrong. airfryer is amazing easy for meals too.
That pumpkin chili sounds crazy, but come this fall...I'm going to give it a shot! Thanks for sharing approachable recipes that don't look too difficult, but absolutely qualify as home cooked meals.
That last dish (baked potatoes with veggies and sausages) reminded me of a dish my mom used to make. Slice and sauté hot dogs. Microwave Green Giant Green beans and spaetzel. Toss in hot dogs. That’s it. My ex used to make another simple dish. Sauté ground beef (or turkey) with finely diced onion. Add a can of drained and rinsed small white beans. Add s/p to taste.
The sauce you used on the broccoli pasta dish is my go to sauce for my Mac and cheese I just throw in the cheese about 1 cup and then if I'm feeling rich I put in cream cheese. Turmeric and paprika make it orange if you need that eye candy.
I'm going to make grams chicken and potatoes for sure. I kind of did that last night but it was chicken fricassee from an 1800s recipe. Aka smothered chicken... I just watched your menu planning video. I'm sitting here, for an hour, with my paper and I have 3 items on the list. I suck at this. Lol.
Oh my gosh!! Please don't feel bad. The first time that I meal planned, I'm not even kidding you it took me 7 hours to make my first menu. I used to get so frustrated. But after doing it week after week after week and learning what meals we enjoy, I can do it all in 30 minutes to an hour. I also keep a Pinterest page for myself to keep all the meals that we seem to enjoy in one spot. I find that helps too!
I’m drawn to the chili made with pumpkin and the curry. To my surprise you demonstrated what to do with kielbasa as I have my first one which needs to be eaten.
I made chili with leftover mashed sweet potatoes once and hubby said it was my best chili. also, I keep at least two packages of kielbasa on hand for anything.
Hey Ariel :) I usually don't comment, but I've been watching several of your videos in a row today and feel like I want to just say Hi 😅 Cuz I really like your style and fun take on things, I think that's what got me hooked. You seem like a cool friend to just hang out with ^^ Fun, funny, inspiring and at the same time giving plenty of information - like the cleanmoma and flylady videos. More everyday cooking would be nice too 😊 Oh and btw I totally loved the Dancing & Cleaning vid 🪄🤩😄
Hi!! Thanks for saying hello, you made me smile 😊 I do have a cooking video I've been working on filming, so I should have another out soon! It will be a cooking video/example of a week of meal planning 👍 It was really nice to hear from you, thanks for taking the time to comment 🥰 hope to hear from you again sometime!
I just discovered your channel and I have to tell you I am so glad I did. Great to know I'm not alone in the awkward life. I have recently become a stay at home Mom, my youngest is a senior in High School. So I'm finding my trouble is focus, getting a good routine and sticking to it. Meal planning is important and I'm getting ready to try Gram's chicken and the pumpkin chili. The recipe link you provide calls for tomato paste but I didn't see you put it in the pot, do you leave that out of your version of the recipe?
@@ThatAwkwardMom ok then, that's how I'm gonna do it. I think the coconut milk sound better than the cream cheese too. We are having Grams Chicken tonight and Pumpkin Chili tomorrow. I'll let you know how it turns out, thanks!
I have been married for 47 years, but I still do not like to cook. You make it look so easy! I am a vegan so I have to make my stuff pretty much from scratch. My husband eats meat so he makes his own food. I enjoy your videos, and think you are so cute and funny!! You have a lovely family, too I just started trying to do some extreme couponing, sort of for a hobby. Wow, is that challenging!! Anyway, just wanted to say hi. I am binging on your videos tonight. Good luck to you!
Thanks for saying hi! I never used to enjoy cooking either. Then after doing it so many times I started to enjoy it. But I'm sure cooking is a lot more complicaging when everything you make is from scratch! Anyway, I'm glad you're enjoying the videos, thanks for being here 😊
I have baked potatoes for over 45 years and have never poked holes in them... and have NEVER had one explode on me. Is this a REAL thing?? LOL I don't think I have ever had a friend or family member tell me that they had one explode either.--- Just wondering?!? The chicken curry does not look good to the eye, so will have to trust ya on that! LOL The pumpkin chili... I am thinking I will do that sometime this year in my cooking class. My husband would never eat that, but I am intrigued and would like to try it... so will test it on my students!!
Had a potato explode on me once. I hadn't poked it quite enough. I'm really surprised that this has never happened to you because it's definitely a real thing!
@@Anagrams458 Interesting!! I asked a couple of staff members and a few gals in my cooking class if they had ever had a potato explode in the oven? Everybody shook their heads no. One staff member asked me if I poked holes in my potatoes and I said no, she said she didn't either. But, I believe you that it must happen, or it wouldn't be mentioned.
I made Grams chicken but didn’t have any juices. What did I do wrong? I used a little over 1.5 lbs of chicken and cooked it for 90 mins at 350. It was good but wished I had more juice left
So I made the mistake of saying 90 minutes, but I realized later that you only have to cook it for 1 hour. I'm going to add that to the description so that other people know. That could be why because the longer you cook it, the more the chicken will soak up the juices. So maybe try to cook it for an hour next time because I find that the chicken is cooked through and tender after an hour. If all else fails, you could always add an extra quarter of everything... 1 cup + 1/4 cup of vinegar... 1/4 oil + a tablespoon... 5 tablespoons of brown sugar instead of 4... And so on. Hope that helps!
How many pounds of chicken for Gram's chicken? I want to try it with boneless skinless chicken thighs instead of breasts. Do you think it'll taste the same? I'm all for using the exact ingredients that the recipe calls for. I will switch out ingredients after trying the original recipe 1st. Thanks in advance.
I normally use three chicken breasts so I guess that amounts to about a pound? It will work with chicken thighs too!! It's our favorite recipe, we literally make it every week because it never disappoints!
I also made a mistake, it only needs to be cooked for an hour on 350, not a hour and a half. Also, cut the chicken into smaller chunks and then it soaks up the flavor even better and it's so good 😊
Anyone have any feedback on these recipes now that time has passed by ? The gram’s chicken looks good but still curious about what other viewers found most delicious from these .

I tried the Pumpkin Chili. I used ground turkey, cream cheese instead of the coconut milk (not a coconut fan), and didn't put in tomato paste. It was sooo good! My husband loved it too! Our new go-to chili recipe. 😋
I just made the mango chicken curry tonight and came to comment about it. It was so tasty! I did play around with the measurements just because of the ingredients I had on hand, like frozen cubed ginger instead of 2 tablespoons of ginger. And I use coconut oil instead of vegetable oil.

My top tip for baked potatoes, use short metal skewers and pierce the potatoes through the cenrle longways. They cook so much quicker!
That is such a cool 😎 idea. Thank you for sharing.
