Stumbled upon this video bc I wanted to do something similar with a wireless sub, unfortunately the method you used is only half the story and will result in damage to the amplifier on that Sony sub. What u actually need to add to those wires tapped into the amplified side or known as the speaker level side is a line output converter (loc) thus turning the signal to a line level (rca) to connect it to the new powered sub. You can avoid what I just mentioned if you purchase a sub with speaker level inputs but doing it with a loc will also give you some sonic adjustability to the new sub. I recommend a powered loc made by Audio Control, model LC2i made specifically for subwoofer applications which can handle up to 400 watts of speaker level input. Thanks for the video.

So if I was to do the same thing all I would need is a loc, hook it up to the amplified side, or the side that connects to the subwoofer, then run rca cables to my new powered subwoofer?

Hi guys. I need a little info regarding my ossoto soundbar all in one 5.1.
It has rca outputs front, rear, centre, subwoofer etc (I belive it's called a multi channel outputs). Anyways iv also got sw out rca. I want to connect another 2.1 active system which only has rca input an output. Can I use tvs sw out from my soundbar to rca left right input to 2.1 to use as an active subwoofer only for my soundbar.

So using your video I'd be able to use the original sub to send audio signal (RCA) to a new amp & sub?
Ive got a samsung soundbar with no output jack and an awful sub. So i plan to use a car audio setup with the input signal from the old speaker wires
Edit: my original sub had 4ohm 28W output. I learned you can use a line output converter to connect the speaker wire to an rca output 👍 should fix my problem
Now I got a skar SUB and ported box running off the soundbar sub amp (speaker wires going into new box). It's MUCH better. I read a comment saying car audio is much less efficient so it uses higher wattage. My current setup might be enough for most people. I bought a mono sub amp and Computer psu 220$ total - might just return them

    Hi
Thanks very much for showing this video, but when I put the volume up more than 30 db the Sony sub will lose the wireless connection and both sub’s bass will not work unless I unplug and plug back the Sony sub. So do you know what to do to fix this issue? Thanks for your help.

How about just adding a separate Bluetooth transmitter and receiver to the subwoofers? When the main subwoofer powers on then the second subwoofer powers on.

This will change the impedance of the speakers. If the impedance is to high you will loose effect and the modification is pointless, and if the impedance gets to low there is a big chance of ruining your amplifier.

This is correct. It would ohm load the amplifier. Likely damaging it over time.

Hey Omar, thanks for your comment. I'm not really familiar with this model. What I can tell you is that its extremely hard to connect to a subwoofer that didnt natively come together with the soundbar. Unless they where sold seperately and be paired together like the Sony HT-A9 and SA-SW5. There sold seperately but they can be connected. I hope this answers your question. • @davidyebvlogs
      @davidyebvlogs  2 года назад +2

Hey MsJamie, No it's not going to work. because the soundbar will not send signals to 2 different subwoofers simultaneously. You have to connect with a wired connection like in my video. It's the only way until SONY decides to make a soundbar that can support 2 subwoofers. hope this answers your question. have a good one

    your video is very impressive,
I am facing little problem, I am having a boat Avante 2000 Subwoofer wireless bluetooth 2.1 version. Not getting connected to other soundbar , I order "Zebronics Ace Plus Wireless Soundbar with 30W Output, Dual Passive Radiator, RGB Lights,Built-in Rechargeable Battery, Bluetooth 5.1,Coaxial Input, AUX, FM Radio, USB, mSD, TWS Function".
What should I do to pair with subwoofer? Should I try to follow the process to showed in video, ?
if am not having any wired speaker or soundbar can I connect through Aux wire to connect with subwoofer soldering.

Hey Joe, good question. What's the model of your Yamaha soundbar? Because soundbar are very picky and complicated to pair with especially if the soundbar and the subwoofer aren't together in the same box designed to natively connect to one another. Let me know the model of the subwoofer as well.

    Just sayin'...
Wiring in parallel reduces impedance. This is calculated by dividing the number of speakers by their impedance. For example: 2 speakers @ 8Ω = 4Ω
Improper impedance matching (speakers to amp) can lead to excessive power use, distortion, and noise problems. The most serious problems occur when the impedance of the load is too low, requiring too much power from the amp to drive the speakers at acceptable levels.
i.e. This nifty little solution to 'add an extra subwoofer to your wireless soundbar / subwoofer' which you purchased at 'Jim's Home HiFi' for $299.00, will overload the amplifier - which was only designed (at a minimum manufacturing cost) to run the one speaker it was built with.
This will do at least one of 2 things, but most likely both:
    1. Burn out the $9.99 amp component in the sub enclosure.
    2. Sound like crap because it doesn't drive either speaker properly now that you have 2 attached. Sure, it's louder, that's a fact. But it doesn't really sound better. Play something that is produced properly, and turn it up to at least 120db, and you'll hear the difference ;)
