This is a good robust machine, i have had same model for a few years and it makes great espresso. Worth the money.

Great review! Just received yesterday mine, the revised version with rockers buttons and the pressure gage retro-light. This machine is made in Italy. It does carry great internal components. Just to name one which is not anymore in standard machines is the boiler made of brass... Way better that aluminium ones which tend to break! Brass is usually installed in more expensive devices. And the cast is made of stainless steel. Very few plastic parts. No electronic @ all, which is good news... Great machine by many means!

Good point. Listen to this guy he knows his stuff. Most assume that the pressure gauge should show 9 bars no matter what but its totally dependant on the GRIND you use. Too FINE or too coarse and you won't get 9 bars. Play around until you find the right grind. The beauty of this machine is it lets you check and keep changing until you hit the green. Then you also have the TEMP control which makes sure your espresso comes out at the right temp unlike lower cost machines like the Gaggia classic which is said to come out colder.

However the overpressure valve is supposed to dump anything above 9 bar. So even if you grind to fine, the extraction will be slow but the pressure should not exceed 9 bar because of the OPV. That's the problem the OPV is set to 11-12 bar so the pads can be used. That's not ideal for espresso but it is very easily adjusted down to 9 atmospheres and the gauge is accurate so no need for a portafilter gauge. Once it's set to 9 bar you can do all the usual stuff to dial in.

The Lelit PL41TEM looks like a real value with the PID (Lindsey's review is great!). The only oddity to my eye is the 57mm portafilter instead of the industry standard 58.

hanks for your inquiry. Portafilter width sizes range from 43mm up to 60mm. As the portafilter basket gets wider, the same basket gets less depth. As the portafilter gets narrower, the basket gets deeper. At the end of the day, we only select machines that can produce quality in the cup - this includes many factors, and not just the basket width.

hello , i would to ask you , i am between the lelit Anna PL41EM , Sage The Barista Express , and Gaggia Classic 2018/19 SB SS , I have difficulty choosing, because 2 do not have pid and put later Pid costs, and then I do not know with what grinder to combine them, so I have ended up in breville but they do not say good words really I am in a dead end any help would be gratefull thanks.

Help to resolve the mystery, some say to set the brewing temp on 97 instead of 93-95 on this machines. what do you think?

What material is the boiler made out of?

    • @Phantoma3
      @Phantoma3 3 года назад

250mm brass boiler. I think this is the previous model, as the new Lelit Anna - PL41LEM has more powerful steaming with a different steam arm and the tray is polished chrome at the front as well.

Does this machine ready after the second light is gone "off" or "on"? How can you know when it ready to brew?

Hello, how are you? After more than 3 months of use, I have to say that I am very disappointed with the machine. Keeping the same grams of coffee beans, the same ratio, and obviously the same grind level (I have a very good 1Zpresso pro grinder) the extraction times are very different. For example using 15 gr of coffee beans, I get 30 gr of coffee drink .... sometimes in 30 seconds, sometimes in 20, sometimes in 45.... It is unpredictable. I am using good quality specialty coffee, needle dispenser, leveler, precision balance, etc. I took a barista course, how do you always get a similar coffee? Thank you, best regards!

The Lelit comes with a very fine tamper in Europe -- if anyone's being a conspiratorial cheapo, it's the North American distributor.

I bought the PL41TEM machine a few days ago, and it had the same plastic tamper (I am from the EU). But, the company that sold it, offered an all metal Motta tamper with the purchase. I think people who buy these machines tend to buy accessories they like, so a kit tamper might be a waste. Same with the scoop... it is useful but many people use scales or other means to calibrate their extractions.

There is only one right way to make an cappuccino, only one way for latte macchiato, and so on ... !!
    Per un cappuccino
    1/3 cafè
    1/3 latte
    1/3 schiuma
Every type has his specific parts (volume) of the ingredients....
