I have the exact same Machine and and next model Grinder up with the inbuilt scale. Great combo ! I brought the Anna over the Silvia. One drawback is the 57mm which makes it a bit harder to source baskets, but I managed to find a bottomless.
that 57mm was heavy on my mind too but I am not an enthusiast and lelit DOES have all the bottomless stuff, filters, tamper and distributer.
Thanks a lot for thé review
I Will probably buy it
Very nice explanation Canadian style. Thanks
It’s perfect for my home and I like a hot cup of coffee or espresso thank you
fantastic review!!
Glad you liked it!
I have the same both units! I love my Lelit Anna 2❤
Question: when I turn just the water on it’s only a stream, whereas before it was more than just a stream. I performed the Puly milk wand cleaner but it’s still only coming out a stream, not like it used to. Is this fine or could something be wrong with the wand? I clean it after every use by the way.
Thanks for the nice review.
Question.
Is the pid reading the temp of the boiler or the temp at the piston/filter.
Saw in another review that it does not measure the temperature at the piston but in the boiler. They measured that even when the display temperature dropped to 82°, the temperature at the piston/filter was still keept at its target of 93°.
the only downside with lelit is the 57mm portafilter.
Thanks for the review!
One question though: what does Anna "2" mean? How can i see from the product specifications if it is version 2? Is it just about the PID? Your video title is the only time I saw this version name.
The Lelit Anna does not come with PID as the base model, but the Lelit Anna 2 does :)
Thanks!
It looks and sounds like my Silvia. Nice that this one comes with the PID built in though.
Nice job!
Thank you! Cheers!
Thank you for this great review! Question: How long does the machine take to heat up. What I mean is, when I switch it on in the morning, how long until I can pour my espresso shot?
about 20 min...many leave these machines on all the time
@@ecscoffeeinc Thank you very much for your quick reply. Seems like a great machine! But leaving it on is probably a hughe waste of energy :(
Much faster! More like 7-10 minutes for this machine
Lelit quote 3 minute warm up time, which would tie in with the minute it took to go from 90 to 130 in the video.
Ita roughly 4-5min. Not sure how you got 20min😅
I am considering this model vs gaggia classic pro. Wanna ask if it is a key concern on 57mm if I am an amateur brewer
Not a concern at all, 57, 58 is what the pros use and they use it for a reason. Some practice is required with any new espresso machine to get a perfect shot. Think of it as buying a stove...it does not make you a chef overnight. But it helps!
You can get much more consistent drink if you measure and time your shots, I recommend using a small scale and a stop watch.
it sounds annoying to measure your drinks every morning :)...perhaps you get more experience when you use your machine more and more
I don't know which one to get: this or the Ascaso Dream PID. Which one makes a tastier espresso?
A lot of variables in the answer to that...a good bean and a good barista can make great espresso out of a very low cost machine...we like the Lelit overall but both are solid performers
this not gonna work for cafes right? I have a small place. will have to do 20-25 coffee in a day. but the thing is a lot of times I will have to do 4 together. What machine you will recommend?
No this will not work for a cafe. We would recommend looking at a commercial machine. There are lot's of options it just depends on if you want manual, or automatic
Does the pid only work on brew temp or it does for steam as well?
I think the PID works with the boiler. So it applies to both water and steam.
Great machine and grinder i use this combo for 3 years .. it is fantastic machine❤️❤️
lelit anna 2 is about 100 bucks cheaper than silvia, would dthis be a better choice? aside from 57mm PF harder to find accessories any major drawbacks?
For 100 bucks difference I'd personally grab the Silvia, easier to source parts and to repair it yourself. It's also heavier and you don't have to hold it when mounting the portafilter
@@Callusny with the Lelit you already have the PID so non need to void the waranty (wish sucks for an expensive purchase) plus spending more money buying third party items to get the same information you already have on a stock Lelit (temp + pressure)
Shall I keep this machine on at all times if I do 2-5 drinks a day? Thank you.
It heats up in less than 10-15 minutes. I think keeping it on all day is just a waste of energy.
Is a pressure between (8-9) Bar sufficient to brew even the FINEST grind?
How much does the Lelit Anna 2 co$t?
9 bar can be sufficient. Cost depends on country but you can check our website
Hi! is this ok that a temperature on the screen is changing all the time from 92 to 93 degrees( set up is 93) ? sometimes on my machine it's changing even more than 1-2 degrees.
That is the PID working to get your machine to the right temp. All good!
@@ecscoffeeinc thanks a lot for your answer. Now I'm calm
That grinder works great until it breaks. Full of junky plastic parts. Ours lasted just over one year and we were unwilling to through good money after bad for the readily available parts. It just seemed like they planned to have this part break so they could sell you the new parts.
would you recommmend this for a small cafe set up?
Nope. Not commercial enough
@@ecscoffeeinc what machine do you suggest for a small cafe? 20-30 cups. Though sometimes that would mean doing 2-3 together.
super random but i'm pretty sure i was following her on tumblr way back
How long should this machine last if back flushed and serviced regularly?
Many many years.
I've had mine for about 12 years. Replaced the pump twice now, but we use it a lot!. Parts are about $50, not hard to do if you're mechanically inclined. I don't know what a tech would charge, but I'm sure it wouldn't be all that much. Given that the pump is the only "wear" part in the machine, it doesn't seem unreasonable to replace it every 5 years.
@@gregtrasuk2208 can I ask where could I get the parts?
thanks for not cutting the whole frothing process. At least I have a target time.
18 грамм за 25-29 секунд ,выход 35-37 и пролив перед варкой! И всё с весами! Вот тогда она сварит отличный кофе!
Is it possible to display extraction time instead of temperature during brewing? I mean what is it good for to see the temperature when making a coffee? The temperature fluctuating would make me only more nervous :) More interesting would be to see extraction time. It's possible to switch ?
No
Is that a 2 or 3 ear portafilter?
A 2 :)
Are 57mm portafilter accessories readily available?
Right now anything in the accessory world is dealing with supply chain issues. But 57mm are availalble depending on what you want.. 58 mm are easier to find.
What coffee machine?
Is this portafilter pressurised?
No it is not - the basked has only one bttom with a lot of holes. But I have to say, these holes tend to clog.
Would you buy this machine over the Sage
Whats concerning is that from the beginning of the shot until the end of the shot, temperature dropped by 10°C, it should affect the taste greatly
That's interesting! I was thinking the temperature sensor sits in the boiler - but then I wouldn't expect a big temperature drop as the boiler ist big enough to contain 250ml of hot water. If the sensor sits somewhere else (e.g. in the brewing head), how could it read the temperature before the brewing process has started?
@@franksasse3883 I'm not quite sure, would be interesting if ECS gave their comment about it.
The temperature is boiler’s temperature. As we pull a shot fresh water rushes in boiler reducing temperature showing in our PID. The temp in group head would remain what we started with.
@@audriusa7005 There is a channel called Lelit insider, he shows both the Anna 2 and the Glenda with a temp probe. The temperature is stable and drops by half a degree towards the end. It is several degrees lower but you can adjust the offset. He also has lots of stuff on modding them.
@@user-lv7ph7hs7l thank you. I know that chanel, but mainly I m interested in Bianca so I've missed info about these other machines
That grinder makes a lot of mess
I would say it requires some cleaning :)
this shot is looking way too short to be honest.
Why Lelit?? Why 57mm??? Just why??? 😢
Right?!!
The way the machine twists and bends when she tries to tighten the portafilter is shocking considering the price tag. Terribly designed.
Just because it is new..the seals are tight. It loosens off in a short period of time
that coffee cannot be drink😂😂
Too fast brewing . Actually this video made me not buy this machine. Thank u
You can adjust brewing time by grinding finer
I have this machine too. It really depends on the grind. To coarse and water just runs through, too fine and no water is coming at all. Good think is, you can manually adjust the pressure. I changed from 8bar (factory setting) to 12bar. So I can grind finer and it still works. And please use fresh beans.
@@lassem3796 how do you do it? is it required to open up the machine?
That’s not the machine, it’s based on the quantity of coffee and the grind. I routinely get shots within 30 to 35 seconds which is definitely not too fast, and I have the same machine.
@@purinscoffee Yes. Open the machine and there is a screw to adjust the pressure.
