Me and Stanaj had this idea… “What if we made a dark, minor version of ‘Ave Maria’?” …when the idea came up, I had no idea that he grew up singing that song in Latin every week as a kid. It was perfect. Initially we planned for it to be a more beautiful piano/string arrangement, with darker chords and a tweaked melody. But as I built the track… things happened. I found myself adding dirty hip-hop drums, and suddenly it morphed into something you’d hear in a John Wick movie! Once I heard it… I couldn’t unhear it; we knew we had to follow this direction. Gives me goosebumps 😬 makes me imagine of a scenario where the protagonist decided to resort to violence when left with no choice because their kindness and patience was taken advantage of and abused. And now they're out for vengeance and retribution.
