Great list...its a shame we never saw WonderBoy,BombJack,Shinobi, Rygar,XaindSleena,Chelnov,Snow Bros,Starforce,Tiger Road,Rastan,Twin Cobra,Double Dragon...im sure the Amiga was capable of making arcade perfect ports to all of them.
There were Amiga ports of "Bomb Jack" (super slow and crap. a superb homebrew port called "Beer Edition" was released a few years back), "Shinobi" (very crappy ST port) and "Snow Bros" (completed but not released back in the day, it was made available a few years back. Same with "Liquid Kids". Both great versions). A great homebrew port of "Rygar" is also available for free.
We did see bomb Jack, Shinobi, XaindSleena ( I think it was called Solar Warrior), Snow Bros, Tiger road and double dragon. They all sucked the big one unfortunately except for Snow Bros which was an amazing port but was not released in its time, despite being completed, rather it was leaked in the early 2000s
@jimkrom yes we did but they were all crap...the Amiga was capable of so much more...we could and should have decent ports to all those great games from the arcades.
@@sakis-c9x not all. Street fighter 2 good port was not possible at all for example, neither a double dragon port or shinobi at that point in time (you really have to factor in when those ports were released). Later ports were better simply because developers had more knowledge of the inner workings of the system. Keep also in mind that the developing time given to the programmers from publishers were ridiculously short, sometimes only a couple of weeks, and also that piracy was king in the day (all hail the mighty x-copy!!!) which resulted in publishers not wanting to invest big in developing for the system as the game would be pirated, sometimes, within hours of its official release. The "lazy ST port" was really NOT a factor most of the time (only in the very beginning of the system's kife), as games that were ported in both systems still had differences (sound for example or more colours on the Amiga) so they were not direct ST ports, rather that is a myth Amiga owners (me included) told themselves to justify why the port was bad...
You know m8 I reckon you could make a V3.0 of this, some class Amiga arcade ports been released since you made this. Nemesis, Pac-Man, Jackal, Green Beret, Scramble etc.
Good list of classic arcade ports. If I were to add any to that list of good if not great arcade ports to the Amiga I would of course add Bubble Bobble, but I would also say that Elite Systems did cracking conversions for both Commando and Ghosts & Goblins to the Amiga. Whilst not 100% arcade perfect they are pretty good and I think Ghosts & Goblins on the Amiga is a better conversion of its source than Ghouls & Ghosts was.
Although the graphics obviously aren't as good on the Amiga as the arcade games, the music quality on Arkanoid, Pang & Cabal (and perhaps a few others) is better (in my opinion) on the Amiga! Wonderful sound chip.
Its a good compilation of good arcade ports. You forgot Double Dragon 3 , not a great game but better on Amiga than arcade. Robocop maybe, Space Gun (this is a great conversion) , Terminator 2 the arcade game, Dragon Ninja, Ghost n goblins, Mega twins , pit fighter (bad game ,great conversion) , smash tv , volfied and prolly some more. Amiga is a great system , loving it

And yet most games sucked due to being ported from the Atari ST.
There was Double Dragon for the Amiga. It was atrocious. Bomb jack was not bad.

Golden Axe theme. Yeah! Well done, great job with the list. Thank's!
I forgot about some of these amazing conversions. Thanks

That's an excellent idea 👍
Toki is friggin amazing on the Amiga.

Nice video, but, there are a lot of good arcade ports for Amiga made in this las 20 years, you can make a new video with it.

Good list
And Ghosts'n Goblins? 🤔🤔🤔
Not all of them are arcade perfect, i can see some missing color or parallax layer, but generally - many great ports for amiga.
Most and some of these, I wouldn’t really call the best Amiga arcade ports!🫤😑
