First time I ever heard this song in Swedish was the great Jussi Björling and Tommy definitely did this song justice. He has such an exquisite feel for the music, he knows precisely how much metal he can add to make the song even more interesting and not to overdo it. You say you did not hear Tommy sing in Swedish before, then you need to hear his version of Stad I Ljus he recorded years ago (who knows maybe he will re-record that one too?) Love the idea of a Christmas calendar, so many wonderful surprises today (and be sure to check out video he released today 😊)

This is my favourite version ever about O holy night. As a finnish I understand and speak some swedish. Language sounds soft to my ears compared to finlandssvenska that I speak or understand better. Tommy is powerful singer, in this he starts so softly. My reaction at the end was quite as yours when I heard this first time last Christmas 😄. Amazing Tommy. And O helga natt is a great one too. I still think it belongs to Jussi Björling. Tommy's version is a great, but i'd say the ending is something that i wish Tommy had done differently.
