    another fine video you made there :-). Good mods, great results as ever. I'm constantly amazed at how fast "crawlers" are with 3s. It's almost if every basher is overgeared, and the crawler is "right geared". Certainly all my trucks are running reduction boxes of some kind, the batteries last for huge run times and I don't get to smash them up by hitting stuff at 40mph!

      @@Georgieframe thanks mate. I ordered a 35t motor. Is it enough?
      Is the servo weak for its body? Im having hard steering on carpet on stock tires 😁

    • @Georgieframe
      @Georgieframe  4 года назад

      @@nomore25 35t motor will probably be quite ok. The servo might be a bit weak, but as it is a five-wire servo the easiest way is to deal with it. If you want to change the servo to a normal three-wire unit, that is more powerful, you also must change the radio and esc.

      Replace the battery with a Lipo. The stock battery is over rated and restricts the potential power of vehicle. Geforce 20C 2700mah lipo fits without modification
      The front diff will blow in about 1 to 2 months with off road bashing. On road will have a lower life span. Metal diff upgrade is known to cause grinding,
      Use heavy multi purpose grease in the rear. Jam it till the grease oozes from the diff and wipe clean. This will give limited slip and be more kind on the motor compared to locking

      @Georgieframe  6 лет назад +1

      Hello! The car is very reliable. But: When I had mounted the slightly bigger wheels the esc cut off after a short distance of driving. Seems the gearing got too high with bigger wheels and the motor draw too much amps. This happened with both 2 and 3s lipo. I have changed to another motor that is not quite as powerful and it works fine for me. You can also gear it down, but it´s a little bit more tricky, as you have to modify the motor mount. Plus, I don´t know if this is a general problem or if my esc is especially sensitive. Another week Point is the diffs with plastic gears. I´ve had to modify the rear diff with a metal plate as the drive axle started to rotate freely against the plastic gear. It´s described in this video: ruclips.net/video/cJp0qZ6HhDA/видео.html
      But all in all, it´s a fun car to drive and modify. Good luck!

    Fantastic video!
    Love your set up of the car.
    Did you chance around the pinion gear ratio at all?
    I am waiting for my 12428 to arrive in the mail and plan to do pretty much the Same set up with mine.
    Crawling is way more fun than just raw speed

    • @Georgieframe
      @Georgieframe  5 лет назад

      Hello! Thank You! I thought about changing to a smaller pinion, but then I have to modify the motor mounting plate with new holes. It was simply more easy for me to change to a less agressive motor. And it is still quite quick on 3s lipo. Good luck with your car!

    Hi, great Video!
    I am building a Tamiya Neo Fighter, which I would like to upgrade to brushless soon.
    I also buy a 12428 and think about using the Stock engine and the ESC from the Tamiya for the 12428.
    Do you think that would fit from the performance? The Motor ist the Tamiya Torque Tuned

    • @Georgieframe
      @Georgieframe  5 лет назад +1

      Hello, Thanks!
      You can maybe use the Tamiya Torque Tuned motor with the 12428:s esc. If the motor draw too many amps the speedcontroller will simply cut off, no damage done. If you use the Tamiya esc you will also have to change the radio and the steering servo, because the 12428 has a combined esc/receiver unit and the steering servo has a 5-cable Connection that doesn´t fit into a standard receiver. The stock motor and electronics on the 12428 is quite powerful and can normally be run on either 2s or 3s lipo.

    Do the bigger tyres slow the car down at all

    • @Georgieframe
      @Georgieframe  5 лет назад

      Hi! Not an easy question to answer as I changed the motor after I had changed the wheels. With the stock motor and the bigger wheels the esc cut off after five meters or so, for some reason. This happened with both 2s and 3s lipo. I mounted a "milder" motor from a crawler and the problem disappeared. I guess you can call that slowing down, but the bigger wheels make terrain driving better, so I think it´s worth it.

      @Georgieframe  6 лет назад

      Hi, Denis! I changed to a crawler motor, standard motor from a Maverick Scout, that was left over. Since then I have changed again to another old motor from a Traxxas Hawk, also left over. It's a little faster, but the esc does'nt cut of. The diffs I locked with epoxy. I used adhasive pads first but it was´nt strong enough in the rear diff so I filled the diffhouse with epoxy instead and it works fine.
