Thank you very much; probably one of the best tutorial on this beautiful song by Burt Bacharach. Nothing too complicated, not too many chords and a lot of feeling, that's all it takes. Good job!
Thank you so much for sharing. This is one of the best tutorials I've ever seen on RUclips. It's very useful how you sing along and say out the chords. Your voicings also sound good and are easy to play. No awkward changes. To top it off: you've got a great voice, too! They sure knew how to write songs in those days...

Bruce, I certainly can't guarantee that I am playing it correctly but if it sounds good to you, then I hope it helps. Thanks for the kind words. Let me know if there's anything I can help with and good luck!
What kind of guitar is that? I like the sound and also the microphone for the guitar. I have an electric acoustic guitar but I don't like the sound; I would rather play it without the amplifier. I does not capture the real sound of the acoustic. I think that getting a quality guitar microphone is much better. What your microphone for the guitar and the vocal microphone plus the amplifiers. You sound great. My apology for too many questions, Sir. God bless you and more power to you, forever and ever. thank you for inspiring the world.
Well this guitar in the video is a 25th anniversary Seagull acoustic/electric guitar. It is made in Canada. Sadly, I don't have that guitar anymore but I always preferred my black Ovation which is a much better guitar anyhow. As for the sound, this is almost always the problem with using an amplifier or using the pickup alone and plugging into a recording audio interface. The sound is too harsh from the pickup alone and I don't like the amplifier sound either. I ALWAYS prefer the sound through a microphone so I always do both. I mix the pickup channel with the microphone channel (therefore two channels on my guitar) but the pickup channel is always mixed very low in volume so the main sound will be the guitar from the microphone.
However, in these older videos I likely used far too much of the pickup volume in my mix. I have since learned to really dial that back and use mostly the microphone sound which I like much better. When I record with my black ovation, I always plug it in (through an effects unit and then my audio interface) and I use a microphone as well and the microphone channel is mixed much louder and the pickup channel is very faint, almost not audible but it fills in the sound.
My microphone is not beside me as I reply here but it is some version of an Apex large diaphragm condenser mic. It costs about $500 or it did a number of years ago. So not a very expensive mic but it sounds ok. The black mic that I use to record the guitar when I sing live (I always sing and play live) is a cheaper mic. Probably a couple hundred dollars at most. When I go back and overdub, I use my vocal mic on the guitar, ie. the better mic. Anyways, hope that helps and good luck!
