Great video Will, and as an "Old Timer" (64), it was incredibly refreshing to see that the majority of faces in attendance were young! This is such a great hobby...expensive, yes..but so are most great hobbies...Well done and thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Totally agree with your observation of younger faces in this super video. I've frequently whinged that this has become a geriatric hobby. Fortunately, what I've seen dispels that notion, thankfully! Good onya guys!
Same era as me..grew up in Box Hill 60s and early 70s
Remember the VR Livery and locomotives well
Thanks Will, I have never seen a more perfect POV that shows the signal system in action. Especially when the signals controls, determine when the lads can their own train run first... Man, some of those freight trains are looooong! 🙃
Thank you so much!
Ah wait until I do a video where we run the really big trains! Thanks for watching!
A great video to watch Will, well done. The amount of detail in the layout is incredible. Loved particularly as the T was at speed around the 12.00 mark, love to see more of these types of videos.
Thanks Jason! Hopefully more to come!
Great video Will. Look forward to more from other layouts in the future.
Love the weathering on the T Class too!
More to come! It’s by Get Weathered! Really awesome work!
Massive Layout...... Awesome
Mate, absolutely brilliant.
One of the best railroads I've seen.
Thanks
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you Adam!
Writing from United States,or as you say in Australia ,Good day mate.Good railway video!
Cheers mate thanks for checking out the video!
Nice video Will, it makes the layout look great! Having operated on it for over 40 years, I can say its never looked better and to see VR trains like the 3 Flat tops and string of GYs, wow, it good to see the hobby and AMRA in good hands, as @gregbowen617 says its good to see all those young faces down at the club.
Will, great perspective of the layout.
I did not see any crew in the cab of the T381, they do add some extra realism.
Cheers, and thank you for sharing.
Michael
Cheers Michael! You’re spot on! I’ll get some in next time I do it! Thanks as always!
Great to see some of the old faces again. Glad you started up at Gaufield shunt yard it is a great set up. Its also great to see what has been updated on the layout from when I last was there 11 years ago. Hope to come out next year and drop in and say hi to everyone.
Thanks Matt! There’s some more updates coming as well! So it’ll look a little different again when you pop by!
Fantastic video. Of noticing the scenery and layout around the tracks, this has certainly given me a number of ideas for me to enhance and complete my 8 X 4 layout. - 4 trains on 3 tracks with an overpass on 1 track - Thank you.
Thank you so much! Glad it’s given you some inspiration!
Well, that was fun. Huge and varied layout with some nice scenic stuff, loved the viaduct. Very enjoyable. 😊
Thanks Pauline! Glad you enjoyed it!
@@WillJamesRailways Nice T class too!
Great video. Good to see it as it is now. I had fun trying to fit the scenes in with how I remember the layout when I used to run trains there 15 or so years ago.
Glad you enjoyed it!
G'day Will, what amazing layout, l can't believe how large it is must have taken ages too not just lay the plan down but getting all those involved to agree, thanks so much for the video will have to visit one day, cheers mate keep safe, Neil 🤠.
Believe it or not, that’s only the continuous run, I’ll make a video when the redevelopment work it complete on one of the terminus stations and the branch line!
Thanks for watching!
Great job, loved the layout, I might go and check it out on an open day soon.
Thanks Dale! We’ll have another open day in 2024! Listen out for the announcement!
This is amazing, great work Will
Thanks! Glad you liked it!
Absolutely magnificent video, Will
Many thanks!
I was kinda worried that the pov camera was gonna hit something like walls, infrastructure, signals, other models or something in the tunnels that would cause the train to derail.
This POV made me felt like I was back in my childhood watching Thomas & Friends when there was those close up shots of the other passing trains and lastly watching everyone in the background was very entertaining. Especially ones doing something funny for the camera.
Other then that it’s a good video Will.
I did a couple of clearance tests before this video, it’s all safe!
Thanks for watching
That was brilliant Will! They are very noisy giants :) what an amazing layout.
Cheers
Having too much of a good time playing trains!
@@WillJamesRailways definitely support that mate!
Great stuff Will!
Thanks!
awesome vidoe
Glad you enjoyed it!
Nice video Will. Nice run around the layout. Got to see some areas that are not normally seen when running trains at the club.
Thanks man!
These cab ride type videos are great, not that many with AU rolling stock, do more will.
Good view of the layout, Hope to make a visit one day!
Curiously, may I ask what camera you used? I’ve done similarly using a DJI Pocket 2 which fits nicely on a HO scale flat wagon.
Thanks mate!
This was with the new DJI Pocket 3 mounted to a steel wagon just to get a little more height for clearance reasons!
good job
Cheers
8:02 Honey, I shrunk the kids! 😝😜
Hi Will - what camera was used? Thanks.
DJI Osmo Pocket 3
What camera did you use to film this?
DJI Pocket 3
How much does it cost to join and do you need to bring your own equipment?
Hey, all details are on the AMRA website. I would suggest looking at the AMRA Vic site to see what sessions are on and pop down for a chat!
amravic.com.au
What camera did you use James
A DJI Pocket 3! Also my name is Will!
@@WillJamesRailways my god. Im sorry... had James on my mind after you mentioned Get Weathered...
Wait, when and where was this?
Hey all of that is always answered in the description! However, it was yesterday night 11/11/23, at the Australian Model Railway Association: Victorian Branch. I hope that helps
@@WillJamesRailways wait so when is the next time the AMRA vic branch is open?
never ending Gondola wagon train
Gawd who the hell ruined that shot at 8:02????
He was showing people his Thomas show, or something!
no way it’s vandenbricks 15:33
I believe it is, although no confirmed!
Great video Will, however the talking in the background is very distracting, it is almost like you are eavesdropping on other peoples conversations, you may think of muting the audio in some of your exhibition layout tapes as well. Keep up the great work, look forward to all your vids. Regards Bill.
Hey Bill! Seems I can’t win either way! People seem to be divided on keep the original audio on these and exhibition videos, music or muted! At least the last option is open to everyone.
I’ll think twice about anymore future videos as they’re becoming too divisive.
I did not mean to be divisive, I was just stating my opinion. Maybe you could do a poll amongst your viewers and let the majority rule. Please don't give up on your videos, I enjoy them, maybe I could just turn down the audio.@@WillJamesRailways
bro what is that face at 8:04
All the back ground noise, people talking "land of the giants" ruined what would have been a wonderful video clip. Film it again but this time do it with out all these box heads in the room
This is an open club run. I kind of like showing people enjoying the hobby!
@WillJamesRailways
I have nothing wrong with people enjoying their hobby, my personal opinion is, the noisey people and the ones who realised that they were going to get their 15seconds of fame ruined a beautiful thing.
