    Happy Sunday everyone! This is a second recording of what was a longer, more complete episode. Unfortunately my first go around was not actually recording and you can maybe imagine how much that really just sucks. 🥴 However the show must go on and I did my best to put things back together so as to deliver the Sunday podcast as scheduled. I've included some clips of the audio from the original recording to provide some of that info and content, with the remainder of the episode as usual. Thank you for your flexibility here and I hope you still enjoy a moment to sit and listen to some cozy conversation.

    That was a good recovery! Thank you for rerecording! I got a surprise kick from your shout out to Red Stag Fibers. Josh produces deep, rich colors on his yarn bases, creating fabulous, yummy yarns. He is married to Sharon, who is the owner of my LYS, The Modern Skein. The shop is in Montgomery, Texas, which is a bit of a drive for me from The Woodlands, but always worth the effort. Of course, she stocks Red Stag Fibers, along with an excellent collection of other yarns. I have met Josh a few times at the store. He and Sharon are an adorable couple and I am happy to support them with my yarn habit.😊

    I’ve recently rediscovered Pinterest. At first, I would get annoyed because I was constantly falling down rabbit holes. But that says more about me than Pinterest. I’ve learned how to navigate more effectively and therefore have a much better experience with the app. I’m currently researching how to upcycle a denim jacket by crocheting granny square sleeves. Pinterest is a wealth of inspo. 👍🏻

    Glad you brought in Pinterest. I get so much inspiration from their platform for both knitting and quilting. I do appreciate the beautiful designs that designers are inspired to produce. But, this year has been a downer for me with the big frumpy oversized sweater styles. I'm a busty gal and that style is not flattering for those of us who have that extra loft up top and have to add bust shaping darts to our knitting garments. Oversized knits just hang off the breast apex and look like hospital curtains hanging in front. I would rather designers put out one design that considers those of us who have this issue and or (like myself) are in their mid 50's and just don't like having extra fabric draped on them. I work in an office and all that fabric is actually a hazard and gets dirty quick. I only subscribe to 2 knitting podcasts and yours is one. Most of others are less informative and too chatty. :)

      I'm a monogamous knitter for the most part too! Sometimes I'll set one aside for a few weeks to work on another, but typically I knit on 1 thing at a time. Too many projects on the go overwhelms me and I don't get the satisfaction of completing a thing for long times and I lose motivation

    • @maryannc7223
      @maryannc7223 8 месяцев назад

      I’m actually a little jealous of monogamous knitters. I tend to flit around like a butterfly, too excited about the next project not to start it. One of the great things about knitting is that it’s completely “you do you” - You can do one project at a time or not, dive in to learning as much as possible or be happy with where you are, collect yarn like it’s a separate hobby or just have the yarn you’re currently working with. Celebrate your own style. 🎉
