That's a 400iq play honestly. Getting the pit boss to remove a player to increase your chances on next hand while you're nearly out. But then getting fucked on pocket aces.
he was doing something that is not allowed, you are only allowed to talk when you are the one making the action. You can argue that the rules should be changed, but those are the rules.
Just Nick I think this is the crux of the injustice people feel for this. Yeah, technically he broke the rules, rules which are kinda bs, but really, its the fact that these rules aren't evenly applied. They're selectively applied in only certain situations, and when that happens, it becomes not an adjucator of justice or fairness. Rather, it turns into a tool of manipulation, tilting the gamefield unfairly. And that makes people angry, because its bullshit.
kassouf in a reddit ama about those nonsense rules "...I think it's mainly Jack Effel, with the rulings and I had to stand my ground, and he knew I was a lawyer so I'm going to argue my case, I wasn't just going to back down. I think I was right in every ruling that came up, I think Daniel Negreanu in his podcast said that every time there was an altercation between William and Jack, William was right and Jack was wrong, so it's as simple as that. Which shouldn't be the case, I mean obviously he's the WSOP TD, he should be able to enforce his own rules and know what his own rules are, I think he effectively gave quite bad rulings that were completely wrong, unjustified, and weren't relevant to the actual situation at the time. So I think that's where he came under scrutiny, that's where other TD's came under scrutiny, not just Jack Effel, I think it was TD Robby who mentioned 'once you make a bet, you cannot talk to your opponent' and that's ridiculous, that's not the rule, and Negreanu picked up on that, said that's not a rule at all, what do you mean, that's nonsense. So they made up rules on the fly obviously because it was against me, they never said that to any other player in the tournament."
The rules in poker have changed at the main event, and then changed back (mostly) from my understanding. This video is highly entertaining though and makes me wish Destiny played more poker on stream.
I am not into poker, but do i understand that correctly? This guy was not allowed to communicate anymore? Even when the woman talked to him first? Then he tried to communicate with his hands because of that and then he go punished for that?! Wtf
I mean weed has been around a lot longer than online poker seems somewhat reasonable considering it should have been legal before online poker was ever invented xD
People like Will Kassouf are exactly what poker needs. Poker used to be cool and filled with pros who had personalities and flair. Nowadays it's just socially awkward stats geeks who can't look an interviewer in the eye. Poker needs more people with personalities and who actually talk.
You're not folding top set in that spot. Even if you knew he had a straight you have odds to call. The only time you could fold in this spot is if there was some crazy pay out structure in the tournament that was giving you insane ICM pressure.
As an ex-professional HSMTT poker player(look me up), you have a lot of misconceptions about how pro's play poker. I do definitely agree with you that the newer WSOP rules are complete bullshit.
Mark the mouth? Is that you? First off LOL secondly, you once caused a fist fight at one of my poker nights. It was amazing, had to get a new table. We play with used Nevada casino cards in this house.
Kassof was playing the long con making everyone think he is chaotic and genuine at the same time. If the judges try to stop him it doesnt matter because that feeds into the chaotic persona and if he trys to defend himself off table that feeds into the genuine persona both personas confuses the other players. He is f***ing genius
Yeah this is madness. What is going on in the poker world now? I remember watching tons of high stakes games and tournaments with Negreanu and he was always talking to other players
People have tried that before, you have to sign paperwork when entering the tournament saying you will show your cards to the camera. There really in no down side. If you're at the level where you're playing against people that have studed your previous tournaments, then you should be playing at the level where you can use that information to bluff.
35:00 it was pretty obvious for kassouf that the opponent could have an ace on the turn or at least in that 'range', generally betting when you hit something is the better choice but i agree with you when you play in this scenario it may could help to check, still i think betting strangely (either big or small) could even look weaker than checking. btw you say on the river he should bet so he wont reveal his bluff, he had top pair on the flop so its not really a bluff more like a agressive played Q10 on pre and flop. all in all kassouf did play very good on this tourney and wosp invented fucking cheap rules.. i really dont get this social justice poker from a reddit ama from kassouf 'Um...I like to do my betting, so I'll bet my privilege rather than check it, I don't think I need to check my privilege, I know where I stand on the privilege front, so I think I'll bet my privilege all day long to get maximum value from my opponents'
36:09 leading out of position on the turn is definitely not better most of the time. Especially if you put Kassouf on a hand like 98s, you want him to keep bluffing. Checking is the right play, and Kassouf is also correct for checking back the turn. You're being results oriented if you feel like checking out of position was incorrect because Kassouf didn't bet with a worse hand. And you are indeed a shitter if you are betting turn and river in Kassoufs spot. 46:00 best situation Kassouf can be is in a flip. You have to calculate ICM to determine if the call is correct. 52:11 your bet on the button was fine and fold was obviously good. The only thing about the top set hand is you are holding a diamond and he 4 bets you this deep you can consider folding. It's obviously not an easy fold, but it's unlikely an overpair is 4betting on this board and when you hold a diamond he is less likely to be bluffing with a hand like AKs. A hand like 45 shouldn't be raising like this either.
39:00:00 The camera actually caught the tells Les showed. The eye flutter and the involuntary hand movement indicate extreme stress. Then the thought process becomes: stress bluff or stress slow play?
Those percentages at 27:00 flipped faster than Trump's election odds, holy shit How can you get a guy booted out of the table by crying and then get BTFO'd that hard?
Why would Destiny want to bet to get hands worst than his own to fold? He should WANT flush/st8 draws calling his flop bets. Just was bad luck he ran into a flopped straight. Just GG and move on, nothing he could have done in that hand differently.
how come poker players always try to hide their expressions as a strategy? I would just be super dramatic when i flip my cards and have a super dramatic look and hide my expression through bad acting.
To hide tells, play enough and you can see their cards from very slight reactions. So you wanna "muck"(not show)to prevent them from learning your "tells" small portion of Texas holdem is luck, if you can get in their head you can win with a 9 high because they folded the winner.
If that is disrespectful taunting, then holy shit NEVER play a fighting game or League of Legends or Overwatch or basically any video game you will be suicidal after half a match
I've never played poker in my life so I might be missing some (/a lot of) nuance here, but annoying/taunting your opponents to make them play suboptimally seems like a really shitty thing to be a core part of a professional sport. Is there just not enough content in the sport otherwise or why is essentially bad sportsmanship thought of as essential to Poker? I honestly don't have a very strong opinion on the topic but the whole thing seems rather bizarre.
I disagree with Destiny here, being able to win by pure tilt is pathetic, and there's no way to avoid it, Destiny can't even win his league games when his own teammates steal blue. That's why Tony G is a pro, it's because he can't win without talking.
somebody should really buy these guys a basic poker rules for beginners book no where in the game of poker is all this BS mentioned i dont know what they are playing but its not poker
Everybody knows poker tables are safe spaces
Destiny Confirmed Alt Right Neo Nazi
Google a guy named Tony G

tony g is a fucking king
"Of course I lied, Its poker Phil"
Tony G is god -
Very very savage.
That's a 400iq play honestly. Getting the pit boss to remove a player to increase your chances on next hand while you're nearly out.
But then getting fucked on pocket aces.
I will never ever understand how Poker works, all I learned was that Tony G is a god
Liiinusen Same. The game looks so interesting I wish I could learn it
Watch the video series on everythingpoker.com
I basically learned everything good ik from that series when I was starting out
Tony G is a god, he gave a lecture like 3 years back in my high school
He really is something else. Fucking hilarious personality in poker
The worst thing you can do in USA is talk back to authority.''land of the free''
That was actually really damn entertaining, I'd love to see more Poker content from Destiny
She has a high victim card.
he was doing something that is not allowed, you are only allowed to talk when you are the one making the action. You can argue that the rules should be changed, but those are the rules.
Well duh, two queens.
Please bring up a tournament where this rule is followed and enforced to the teeth please.
Just Nick I think this is the crux of the injustice people feel for this. Rather, it turns into a tool of manipulation, tilting the gamefield unfairly.
And that makes people angry, because its bullshit.
Dawigas bruh she would literally make a mean remark to him, he would make a sarcastic remark back, and they would tell him to shut up
kassouf in a reddit ama about those nonsense rules

Tony G is a fucking savage. He's my new idol
NEW?? idiot.. didnt you know about him before?
You assume he didn't...
mfw weed is going to be legal in the US before online poker
Sports gambling federally legal now we getting close
I mean weed has been around a lot longer than online poker seems somewhat reasonable considering it should have been legal before online poker was ever invented xD
This comment aged well
Pretty sure they don't want people no longer in the hand to say things that influences the rest of the hand.
I had an old asian dude thank me for my money when i lost to him
People like Will Kassouf are exactly what poker needs. Poker used to be cool and filled with pros who had personalities and flair. Nowadays it's just socially awkward stats geeks who can't look an interviewer in the eye.
Poker needs more people with personalities and who actually talk.
I don't even think he was that out of line when you compare it to the kind of crazy behavious out of someone like Tony G. or Mike The Mouth...
yeeeee for Tony G. He's a polititian in my country. He's charming :)
You're not folding top set in that spot. Even if you knew he had a straight you have odds to call. The only time you could fold in this spot is if there was some crazy pay out structure in the tournament that was giving you insane ICM pressure.

the NA poker field was so soft

kassouf is a legend now. he made it to top 15 and he has hysterical hands. Watch the 3 hour vid on all of his 2016 wsop hands. hilarious.
Tony G lol. That feel when the person comes back to your country and makes a business around gambling lol
Destiny, If we gonna watch youtube together how much do I have to pay to do it on your lap?
The guy is right though - Easy to psycho analyse when u can see the cards .
"Yeah come on Russian get out!" Haha that Tony G clip was hilarious hahaha!
Poker is just like League of Legends, except instead of talking your opponents out of a win you talk your team out of a win.
my boy 9 high like a boss hahaha that laugh
ye kassouf is hella good, destiny analyzed that hand really well, kassouf read the hand pretty fucking well and played mindgames at the same time.
Tony-G is actually Lithuanian not Australian and his real name is Antanas Guoga.
Half way through, it's one of the best uploads in recent time.
This was fun Steve. Thanks
Back then when destiny was the one calling others c...ck
"It's bike time."
This needs to be a poker saying.
Yeah this is madness. What is going on in the poker world now? I remember watching tons of high stakes games and tournaments with Negreanu and he was always talking to other players
Tony G fucking Angle Shooting Phill is still fucking hilarious. now i get to see Destiny react to it
Omg this is the funniest video ever! Of course I lied! It's poker! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! *cough cough* HAHAHAHAHA!!!!
Tony G is possibly the greatest poker player, ever! :)
Oh - U did a poker tournament.
1 ?
You on that video - That is a meme.
jamie gold won the main event doing exactly what he's doing
Brown shirt guy is level Hugh mungus
I watched this entire video and I don't even know how to play poker
Can we have some more poker coverage from you steve?
‘On your bike Russian. On your bike’
Les should have made a small bet on the turn to bait a call and possible raise and then probably re-raise the river
If I were playing for that amount of money, I wouldn't let cameras see my cards.
People have tried that before, you have to sign paperwork when entering the tournament saying you will show your cards to the camera. There really in no down side. If you're at the level where you're playing against people that have studed your previous tournaments, then you should be playing at the level where you can use that information to bluff.
Top result: Tony G gets punched
Yeah that checks out. Fucking love that man

from a reddit ama from kassouf 'Um...I like to do my betting, so I'll bet my privilege rather than check it, I don't think I need to check my privilege, I know where I stand on the privilege front, so I think I'll bet my privilege all
day long to get maximum value from my opponents'
"9 high like a bawse"
Lol
this really made me think
Ugh I wish my social group had more people similar to Destiny's humor. :0
36:09 leading out of position on the turn is definitely not better most of the time. Especially if you put Kassouf on a hand like 98s, you want him to keep bluffing. What ? - How is poker illegal in USA ? -- Just play on foreign sites
When someone says "i want you to call" they do not want a call from you they are bluffing most of the time.
The state of Kassouf's fucking pants/shorts...
God fucking bless Tony G
53:30 you had to raise and maybe a6 would call to see flop.
39:00:00 The camera actually caught the tells Les showed. The eye flutter and the involuntary hand movement indicate extreme stress. Then the thought process becomes: stress bluff or stress slow play?
Lamo i love the analysis of this
What a fucking white knight table lol in the first clip. Not to mention "Can you believe he lied about his hand" XD
he should talk to lifecoach about this... but I guess lifecoach wont want to do that...
bro kassouf a god
Destiny got destroyed in this poker game.
24:25 the woman next to tony g is 60 years old btw
2017 lmao this vid looks like 2010 at most.
What the fuck, half the fun of poker is sitting around the table chatting with people and taking shots at each other. It's all in good fun.
This Tony G is the memes. is he the sole reason they bitched about Kassouf talking? cause this guy rips
Those percentages at 27:00 flipped faster than Trump's election odds, holy shit
How can you get a guy booted out of the table by crying and then get BTFO'd that hard?
that tony g is fucking hillarious!
You can talk you just can't say how much money is in the pot or tell them what you have
I'm stronger than destiny in arm wrestling.
Simp for me.
LOL the aussie banter
Poker Plus
Why would Destiny want to bet to get hands worst than his own to fold? He should WANT flush/st8 draws calling his flop bets. Just was bad luck he ran into a flopped straight. Just GG and move on, nothing he could have done in that hand differently.
It's called bluffing... It's a part of poker. Depends what is on the table.
You can play on ACR in America. They allow BTC buyins too
@Destiny Isn't this the same as trying to curb BM and toxicity in games like Starcraft and League of Legends?
This is fucked if poker cannot be social than imma die
Destiny, play League with me yo!
how come poker players always try to hide their expressions as a strategy?
I would just be super dramatic when i flip my cards and have a super dramatic look and hide my expression through bad acting.

Play live and talk and you will get asked to stop if you're annoying anyone. Most places won't enforce it unless it becomes real chatter.
I'm not sure about you guys but Phil Hellmuth is the best poker player ever! lmao
SJW also found their way to ruin poker.
Not even!!!
cry more.
They called that exit gracious... She was sour as fuck on her way out lol. Was that sarcasm and I just didn't pick up on it?
tony g roated that dude so hard
If that is disrespectful taunting, then holy shit NEVER play a fighting game or League of Legends or Overwatch or basically any video game you will be suicidal after half a match
9 high like a bawssssss
The William Kassouf incident was hilarious. So many people cried because he talked mad shit and got in their head. Boo fucking hoo.
53:14 what's that purple tab in the launcher?
they do skin sales sometimes, they usually cut like 8 skins in price for you.
Oh so if you buy tons of Rp you get special deals? that's nice
They give the deals to everyone
Stupid WSOP rules***
Was that fnatic wickd?
" under duress " Jesus fuk
NOBULLY

poker is dead bro
also you're confusing cash game rules with tournament rules
Lol if one hand ruined your poker career youre doing it wrong
I disagree with Destiny here, being able to win by pure tilt is pathetic, and there's no way to avoid it, Destiny can't even win his league games when his own teammates steal blue.
That's why Tony G is a pro, it's because he can't win without talking.
Did you just debate yourself? You just said Tony is a pro because he talks shit but it's pathetic to play that way? What are you on about
@1:00:10 wtf? poker is illegal in the USA?
somebody should really buy these guys a basic poker rules for beginners book no where in the game of poker is all this BS mentioned i dont know what they are playing but its not poker
