- There's something about the Porsche 914. They're incredibly fun to drive...and inspire a fanatical following. In this mini doc shot at the West Coast Ramble, you'll see 914s in every color. I dare you not to want one. You'll also meet the people addicted to these cars and enjoy a glips at what makes 914s so much more than just cars.

I've heard this car handles like a dream? I personally would prefer that to a fast car as it's something I could actually enjoy as apposed to either breaking the law or killing myself

Was pumping gas at 15 years old in 73' A black 73 2.0 brand new pulled in. Owner was wearing tennis outfit and all tan. I thought it was one of the coolest cars I had ever seen. Something about the roof lines and sail panel, kinda like a Ferrari 250 LM, one of the most beautiful cars of all time!
And let's see, four wheel disc brakes, all independent suspension, manual rack and pinion steering, mid engine, 5 speed trans axle, 2kish curb weight, low center of gravity, roomy cock pit, top comes off, unique style and decent mpg with just enough hp to have fun around town and more. What's not to like? Course I also like Fiat x1/9's another picked on car!
Couldn't agree more. And my first car was an X1/9!
I miss those big go karts. I owned 6 of them from 70 to the last 76. Wish I would have kept the best one, a 74 2.0!!

Back in the old days I got to drive the 1.7, 1.8, and 2.0 but not the unicorn 2.0/6. They’re really fun. Not highly regarded back in the day but finding their niche now.

I used to have a 76' 914/4 2.0 back in the late 90's. It is the best car I've ever had. I used to get 911 drivers flashing their lights at me coming the other way. It defines the phrase "cornering on rails". I had a lot of fun in it. Unfortunately it eventually went up in flames. I had a 85 Fiero automatic as my first car, and the 914 was better. I hope to eventually own another one. Thank you.
