- Our video today features a detailed and humorous recounting of Wayne's adventures with his Porsche 914, highlighting his deep attachment to the car and the lengths he went to recover it after it was stolen. Initially, Wayne buys what he believes to be a Porsche 914 with a 2-liter engine, only to discover later, with the help of a friend, that it's actually equipped with a less desirable 1.8-liter engine. This revelation leads him to swap in a higher horsepower engine, making the car more powerful and exciting to drive.
The story takes a dramatic turn when the Porsche is stolen. Wayne, refusing to give up on his beloved car, embarks on a detective-like quest to find it. His journey is filled with intriguing characters, including a private investigator, a scary-looking but ultimately helpful informant, and the elusive thief named Jimmy. Wayne's efforts include surveillance, confronting suspects, and even hiring the informant to gather information on Jimmy and the car's whereabouts.
After many twists and turns, including low-speed chases, stakeouts, and dealing with the police and criminals, the car is eventually found a year later in a stolen trailer attached to a stolen truck. The car had been sold for a fraction of its value, highlighting the thief's lack of knowledge about the car's worth. Wayne has to buy back his own car from an auction after the insurance company had paid him for the loss.
Our tale concludes with Wayne and his friend Sandy taking the Porsche for a drive, appreciating its performance and the journey they've gone through with it. Despite the challenges and the time invested, Wayne's attachment to his Porsche 914 remains strong, underscoring his passion for cars and his resilience in the face of adversity. - Авто/Мото
Entertaining story. I want to thank Wayne for having a great website that I've used many many times to diagnose issues on my prized E320. Without guys like him I wouldn't be able to afford to drive expensive cars because all my money would go to the stealerships. Thanks for making the impossible possible.
Loved the story, the sleuthing, and the ride. And your ADD. It’s an inspiration to me, also having ADD.

Owned a Marathon Blue 914/4 2.0 long, long ago. Still miss that car..
They are super fun. I told my wife and son just yesterday that this car was a "family heirloom" and shouldn't be sold when I'm gone... -Wayne
Loooove the 6! Love the story! Your both very likable, but way to much back and forth.
I can't bring myself to fast forward to get through the story because there's too many fun details but Jesus tell that short guy that ease up on the interruptions LOL😂
Sandy's just excitable, and the story *does* have a lot of details. :) -Wayne
"It's the mental thing". ROTFLMAO.
Great story telling ability.
Thanks! Like and subscribe and we'll keep going! -Wayne
This guy is hard to watch. Can we fast forward to the end?
I think they have that feature on RUclips? -Wayne
the idiot constantly interrupting Wayne is getting to my nerves.
Your not kidding, its unbearable to watch...
He's just excitable! -Wayne
Yup, really want to watch these videos but he make them hard to watch.
@@DarylHiers exactly
@@TheValveGuides his timing is terrible as he interrupts at the best parts of the story.
VW smell used to be from the horse hair used in the seats
And when i say short, just know that its all relative. Heck he could be 6'1" its just that hes standing next to lurch!❤
God you forgot a part?… ok I’m gonna go cut my nails
Mental thing is right!
Cool you got the car back
I do sleep well now, knowing it's right over there (50 feet away from me right now). -Wayne
The vw Porsche logo was on only European 914 4
Funny video guys =)
Nice ride!
Thanks! -Wayne
The flares don't look correct
These two are so much like Steve Buscemi and Joe Pesci. So much fun to listen to.
Wow, I guess that would make me Steve! Nice compliment! -Wayne
Are you from Jersey ?😅
Long Island. Almost the same! -Wayne
Por-sha
The car looked much nicer when you first bought it.
Not so sure about that. :). -Wayne
They are full of crap
And which part are they full of shit about?
I can't imagine what your going thru to have troubles with this story.
Ease up Frances
Don't get your panties in a Bunch😂😂😂😂 Get it😮
Most awful ADD unfocused MFing car guy video interview, jesus
Hostile interview, almost.
This is the most annoying thing I've ever heard much like all of his videos.
Why did you watch more then one if you hate his videos so much? That's laughable
Funny, I was thinking the same thing! Wayne is fine ; he should tell his stories by him self.
stop saying the first thing that comes into your head - because being almost there i.e plain wrong , is so f.. irritating
Now you sound like my wife! -Wayne
Your not funny
Neither are you! :). -Wayne
Horrible flares. You destroyed an already ugly car.
I've got one of each, one with and one without. The flares allow for the addition of the Turbo wheels, which give a lot more traction on the track. These are the GT flares that the factory ran at Le Mans in 1970 with the GT cars... -Wayne
@@TheValveGuides you can do better than the factory job. I just did a 914 6 with steel flares and they look gorgeous. these bulbous things are obscene.. Hope you are doing well. I bought a lot of parts from you when I lived in Hawthorne. Bernard 84 Targa. I live in Brittany now.
@bernardmauge8613 Your making me have flare envy with your "steel" flares now
@@TheValveGuidesThe factory ones were steel
