I'm impressed and I bought one, thanks for the vid
Very nice information about digital multimeter 👌 Thanks
Thank you!
Was checking to upgrade (to Fluke) but this is very good enough for the hobby stuff I do.
Such a nice little meter for the hobbyist. Gonna have to get one soon.
Moonbrony if you're looking for a meter, I highly recommend it.
I just ordered mine after watching your video,I one thing that sold me is I can keep the backlight on all my other meter and I have a few,I can't leave the back ground light on ,and the read out is nice and big I got mine for 18.00 on ebay
I love the auto ranging too
I have the 8008 and the 8002 and I am happy with both.
Mike oliver killer meter for fantastic price. what's not to love? If it had the input protection everyone bitches about it wouldn't be a sub $25 meter.
I need an inexpensive DMM capable of measuring from low hundreds uA to upper hundreds mA and also the same range mV.
Reading about this meter there is a dead spot in the uA-mA range.
Do you have any input on this?
Have you been able to take this meter through the uA-mA range to see how it performs?
If this meter can't do what I need could you suggest a better meter for my needs under $35?
Based on this review and peeking (Peking??) at your other vids, An8008 ordered (Banggood UK£13 delivered), thumbs up and subscribed.
Perfect video on RUclips with all information.
A tip: watch movies at Flixzone. Been using them for watching loads of movies during the lockdown.
@Deacon Enoch Definitely, been using flixzone} for since december myself :)
@Deacon Enoch yup, I've been using flixzone} for months myself :)
Hay! That's my new multimeter ! It's due on Monday Oct 7 via Amazon prime free shopping. After reviewing the overview you gave on 6 or 7 meters this is the one you recommended.
As a retired bench tech I have gone through about 11 or 12 units from different manufacturers. My very first meter is a very simple device. A Heath kit I picked up about 46 years ago. Still in good working condition. Not very accurate but a nice little reminder of the days you could build almost anything that was state-of -the -art at that time.
Thanks again for your insight on this low cost but very functional meter!
I want to hear it from you..this meter can measure 1VAC and below??.. thanks
9k, gotta ask, can the same metter simultaneously generate a wave while being uses as a DMM else where in the circuit or wood zi need two 8008s? Does it have a carry cas(like the higher end Flukes) I am a suckered or cases and ,LEDs 🤪
Hello, if this multi tester can test the capacitance up to 10,000uF or what the max capacitance can test in uF. Thanks
Sir can put video of aneng St 209 clamp meter. I need to fix the problem in it. In it 8 pin IC was failed during operation.
Very nice, thanks for this. Been wanting a new meter since my old RS unit died. Finally upgraded to this from my $3 Centech. XD
+Jarrod Smith I love this meter. If you really want it to shine, order a set of Probemaster.com probes.
In the manual it says: " Do not input voltage exceeds 36V DC or 25V AC when you are at the setting of measuring current"
What's that really means? I cannot measure, lets say for example, how much current a 100w 220v bulb light draws ? ( I know I don't need the multimeter for that, it's an easy convenient formula to calculate it).
Or it is just a safety precaution to not accidentally measure voltages above that range while the multimeter dial is set on "A", "mA" and ruin the multimeter?
Did you figured that out? I'm also wondering what is the meaing of that note. If you measure current in series, so you connect the meter in between discontinuity in circuit, there should be no voltage drop, the meter will act as short. I don't see how the meter could cause any significant voltage drop.
So I also though it's just precaution, if you will attempt to measure voltage in current mode by accident, however that will blow the fuse.
So it might mean that above that voltage you will blow the fuse and damage meter. Below that voltage you will still blow the fuse but not damage the meter?
I might grab one of these for small jobs, saves me having to drag my big meter out every time
Which one would you recommend more? Uni-T UT139c or Aneng 8008/8009? Seems that UT139C is made safer, and correct me if I'm wrong, safe enough for mains? I giess 8008/8009 will not survive. In terms of a home-use or general checks with mains or appliances, would a fluke 101 be the most suitable? Given my budget, I'm leaning on fluke 101 for appliances test and either a Aneng 8008 or ut139c to supplement it. Thank you.
I have no experience with the Uni-T. if you are playing around with mains voltage....go for the Fluke.
Thank You!
I'm confused, i can bay BK 2709B or Brymen BM235,
but what are the advantages? if i can get an accurate device for much less (Uni T UT61e, Aneng An8008), Im not testing any thing above the households 240V.
Thanks.
If you are not going over household voltage, don't waste money on those "big names" keep in mind the UT61e has no back light. Other than that, either one is a good choice.
Funny, I use a Brymen BM257s at work (Ordered mine through TME). Occasionally I get what I call "couch potato techs" saying "Yer not using a Fluke?! I wouldn't trust that thing, blah blah.."
I work around CRT monitors so having the protection the Brymens feature is a good thing.
The difference is the input protection. If you are only measuring around the house and especially dealing with electronics and DC voltages, the AN8008 is a very good value. Hard to beat an accurate 10,000 count meter for the price.
I would like to see a meter that can tell the internal battery voltage and allow the meter to connect to a power source and then allow with different leads to control output this can be done with Arduino.
I want to start working on original 70s and early 80s video arcade machines.
What kind of DMM do you recommend for under $75?
Do I need True RMS?
Thanks
You will be dealing with AC mains voltage. Capacitors that can hold a deadly charge for months.
I wouldn't go with anything less than a Fluke, or Fieldpiece.
TRMS is pretty much standard.
Just sent for one via your link! Could be costly following you Paul ! Only kidding. Great wee meter for my hobby room!
I wish Aneng made a rubber holster for this
Thanks Paul, very good and comprehensive review sir! Already checked prices on Amazon UK would you believe... :)
It is a real shame I am unable to make my ‘needy’ purchases through your links though... 🤑
I have to ask, if you don't mind though, what is the Green topped/striped mini screwdriver you are using in the vid please? ... 👍🏻 `🤔 🐍
It's a $7 screwdriver kit from Harbor Freight, HF is a tool importer in the US.
Thanks for that Paul - that is a great looking little set at a bargain price too! Unfortunately not available over here as far as I can tell - although there is a set of Fleabay from the US at a considerably hiked price plus postage! Still searching... 🤢 🤑 🐍
YAMM. This meter with the auto ranging seems to be a very good meter. Thanks.
George Chambers George, this is, in my opinion, the best meter going for the hobbiest/student/home market. Very accurate, 3 decimal places of resolution, micro amp range, and built in square wave gen. That is more useful than many people think. Hell, even EEVBlog Dave likes it, and don't like nothing that don't cost 6 months salary.
Good points all!
Thank you for the review of this meter. I've seen these on eBay and Banggood, and was wondering about them. It looks to be a fine meter for the electronics hobbyist, and for testing voltages around the home (120v). For the money ($20 range) you get a lot of high-end features like the 9999 count resolution, micro-amp range, etc.
It's a really nice meter, and in my opinion, the best in the price range.
I'm getting one of these, I like the small pocket size..
For the price, a very good multimeter. Just don't use for high voltages and / or high currents (it's not built for that purpose, and lacks protections) and you'll be fine. For measuring low voltages and currents under 5A, this is perfect and quite precise. I love it.
Is this accurate enough to measure house mains voltage true rms?
Depends to what accuracy you need, but generally I would say "No"
@@MikeSmith-wd4hn what? It is as accurate as the Flukes. By 6 significant figures.
So the light stays on without shuting down after a few seconds?
+santiago vindell about 30 seconds
Neat. Just bought one for $8.09 shipped. I should have watched this video first, but I didn't!
Does it work with 1.2V Li-ion rechargeable batteries?
The display it uses is listed as working down to 2v... so sure, but you won't get much use before needing to recharge.
Thanks
SANG THONG thank you for watching
There's a way to improve the intermittent response.
Is this worth to buy rather than Innova 3320??
+J4k3 End4b3anstalk I am not familiar with the 3320.
I have the same meter but after 1 year it's resistance and temperature mode not working correctly.
Any idea what to do?
Have you tried replacement batteries?
You can fix it yourself.
Just grabbed one. Do I need it, no, but nice to have for $20 and take it with me.
Does anyone no if this meter is sold on ebay
+Ron Thompson yes it is
learnelectronics thanks I bought one 18.00
Just picked one up on eBay for $12. I think I have 5 meters now......I may have a problem....
Update. This was a scam. Got my money back. Just bought one in Banggood
how much price for this.
Electro wars There is a link in the description.
5$ on ebay
8008 is cute but go for the 8009 with the extra whistles for a tiny amount more. Or when you no need the Duty cycle count etc. go for the M11 one with temp and probe unless you need the extra decimal in Ohm mode. All in all, a very handy, good and nice meter for an amount that is ridiculous low compared to what you could get for just 5 yrs ago. But anyway, are you a pro or need do pro stuff at mains Voltage level and above. Forgettabout Aneng and start saving for a Fluke etc. Greetings from one with +35 yrs exp in the discrete, detail engineering in electronics.
Foot note: Fluke (i.e. a 175) during its guaranteed 10 years life (I have all mine Flukes OK for more than 20years) will cost you less than one McDonalds visit per month and you will show like a pro. Still, those Anengs is gems! :)
@@Brakballe Would this be better than the "AstroAI Multimeter 2000"?
@@ReptilianXHologram Better than what? :)
@@ReptilianXHologram I have no idea. Haven't bought or tested them all but when in a budget range you cannot be picky. None of these Anengs will replace a Fluke.
UNI T UT 136B is a better deal at the $20 range....
I found it on ebay for 18.00
it's only 4$ on ebay.
Eric jones where did you find it ,and when did you see for 4.00
Eric jones that 3.99 was for the small cheap yellow meter, they give those meters. Away for free at harbor freight, with any purchase.start looking closer
goo.gl/y4MVQA look up an8008 on ebay.. long links don't work on here. found 2 sellers.
did you see the an8008 ? they have photos. there is no confusion. not yellow in the link i posted below. Yeah, don't fully trust but site has good reviews! strange.
first comment. I got one too. I got it from Ebay and is cheaper.
cheetahkid You got it cheaper than $19 bucks?
yep, by a cent $18.99
If you need to measure A.C. voltages, you need to hit the 'SEL/HOLD' button after you've selected 'Volts' on the rotary switch. That is poor design, since it by no means obvious that that additional 'step' is required. Typical type of 'thinking' that you find in all Chinese products . . . and decidedly not good.
This meter is definitely targeted at EE hobbyist, and maybe even professionals, not Electricians so much. As both, I love it, I want one for my lab but I wouldn't take it with me to work, I have my Kline Tools meter for that.
Breath in breath out
sorry you need help, you shoudlnt be breathing like that. do something about your life bro
So terribly sorry that my slow death from congestive heart failure offends your sensitive ears. Feel free to fuck right off and have a lovely day though...
@@learnelectronics hahahaha ❤️🤜
@@learnelectronics I'm sorry to hear about your condition. I wish you the best. Don't listen to insensitive people who don't know you or your health situation. I listened to the video with headphones and didn't notice anything worth mentioning. Thanks for the videos. You have a lot of content that interests me which I am slowly going through. BTW I just ordered an Aneng Q10.
