This NW concert was 1hr&38min long. Not a bad song in the 15 song setlist, so whatever you choose from this Wacken 2013 concert will be unforgettable.

@@helli0n824 There are multiple performances for many NW songs. The crazy thing about Wacken 2013 is that every song performed there was the best performance of that song ever before or since.
Personally if I had to compare Floor with anyone physically it would be Lucy Lawless who played Xena Warrior Princess. Bear in mind that this song was written for the second singer Anette Olzon and Ghost Love Score was written for the first singer Tarja Turunen and yet Floor outsings both. Nightwish were the headliners at this concert at night and it was an hour and a half approximately.
Somewhere in this reaction I saw pure joy, and this is what most of us feel when hearing Nightwish with Floor.

Arwen is the name you were trying to remember my friends. I experienced my first live Nightwish performance last May. Amazing! Floor was breathtakingly wonderful.
Thank you. I was about to go look it up because I was racking my brain. My memory is crap now and it has been a while since I watched any of the movies or read the books. I used to know all the characters, my FAVORITE book series as a kid.
Now I am sad that so much has gone out the ears... Senility really sucks.

@@jamescurfman3284 when you get older you can't see very small text anymore but you see clearly any approaching fool. Aging also has positive aspects :) As i tell my wife - honey, you're 21, everything else is pure experience and that's the only thing that matters. (I'm 50 and my wife is little bit older)

You are used to mud in Wacken. But this year it was more than extreme. Already on the first day of arrival, no vehicle could drive through the camp meadows under its own power and every single one had to be towed by tractors.
I had arrived with my van from Finland and was already stopped in Hamburg because there were extremely long traffic jams due to the conditions.
After a total of 47 hours we got the message from the organizer that all those who were standing in the waiting areas can no longer go to the area, because even these big tractors could no longer get through this mud.
For this reason, only 50k were allowed to visit the Open Air this year and I also had to turn back.
Wacken 2024 I will be on the road again!
I can confirm Wacken was very wet, that they limited the number of people that could get in and that they refunded many tickets. I can also confirm that they let people in throughout the festival and that they managed the wet and the mud exceedingly well, with the result (to my knowledge) that no one was seriously hurt. Wacken 2023 was an amazing event. I was there and loved every minute of it, so full kudos to the organisers for adapting as best they could to a difficult situation, something that other festival disasters have demonstrated is neither easy nor to be expected (looking at you Burning Man) and to the Wacken fans for being understanding and also adapting to the situation (further proof that the metal crowd are truly wonderful folks).

Burning Man is supposed to be crazy... Normal temps above 40 celcius and at night single digit celcius. THe rain was a freaky rare occurance.
@@nicod1361 It will never sound the same. The crowd is too loud and the echo is too much. What you get here in the video is basically what the band members can hear through their in-ears.
BUT (in my own opinion) this is still THE live band to watch. They are truly one of the greatest bands in the world either way but even better live than when in the studio.
There won't be another live band like them for a long time to come.

the question was more towards those critics who say that they actually dont sound this good live,others who where at this concert say they sounded pretty much as is portrayed in the video, direct audio feed in my opinion does not take anything away from the fact that what we see & hear is testament to possibly the greatest live talent on the planet.
Liv Tyler played "Arwen"...I named me daughter after her .we named her "Arwen Éowyn Joël" ,first and second name are from LOTR.

Haha guys, l saw them live 16.6. at Kitee Rantakenttä, Finland. And Floor was larger than ever there, because she was over 6 months of pregnant. Still they delivered a full two-hour show, including also "Storytime". 😎👍
I would give up every concert I have ever seen to have been there for this one.

Yep, I worked security for 30 years and did front of house at many concerts every year. We are there for people's safety, we would hand out water, pull the crowd surfers to safety, most people kept an eye on their neighbours, quite often people would signal to us someone was in trouble, and keep them safe while we jumped the barriers and came to carry them out to safety. The biggest crowd I did was 30 thousand, there was 70 thousand I believe at this concert. After all those years, my dorky brain is just running the logistic numbers for staff requirements

"Bouncy" is a good way to describe this performance...I bounce along in my chair EVERY time I watch/listen, even after 100's of listens!

yes you are true when you say Floor is more metal!...she started off with the band After Forever when she was 16,, then Revamp all very metal and symphonic ...her band Northward is also very good...totally different

I've seen them last november and was blown away! 14 songs 90 min concert, 90 min of goosebumps! including Shoemaker.

Well, what song next.... that is a tough one to answer because there is so much to choose from.
But to explore more of Floor her vocal range, I would suggest "yours is an empty hope", good ones are the 2015 Wembley arena concert, or the Mexico city.

Awesome tune , although it is kind of a popish sound (originally sung by Anette, the second singer of Nightwish), but Floor gave it soooo much POWER !!! Including this "Operatic" part, what was originally done by children's choir because vocal limitations on their second singer (Great singer also, I might add), but Floor has none of that "Limit".
Nightwish lyrics are often a bit interpretive, and not as "straightforward" as many other bands, because Tuomas ( The Metal Mozart Tuomas Holopainen: founder, leader, keyboardist, songwriter and the main composer for Nightwish.) prefers people to put their own interpretations and life experiences into the lyrics. you connect with songs on a personal level when there is something there that relates to things you have gone/are going through, and you may even find new connections later on in life when you have gone through other big events/emotions. there might be songs you are quite indifferent about (oh, nice song) and then you go through something big and all of a sudden it makes you break down in tears because now you relate to something in the lyrics you didn't before, and see it from a whole new perspective. imagination and life experiences are powerful, and Tuomas has great appreciation of this.
As for the "NEMO", please do Floor and Troy's acoustic version. I think this version captures this songs vibe more than the original, although the Wacken 2013 version of this song is an absolute BANGER !

If you do Nemo Wacken 2013 with Floor, pay special attention to Jukka the drummer. Stick swings all over the place in the second half of the song. Other than that, this is the best version with Floor anyway.

You saw some songs of the Wacken 2013 by Nightwish its totally wort checking out the whole concert of that show. not reacting to it but watching it. Floor still calls it her favourite concert and its like 90 minutes long and when the show ends the whole band is in freaking awww and realize in front of how many people they played and the have a huge smile on their face teary eyes and all... :D Amazing show
I'll be honest, I love these kinds of reactions and as a fellow Dutchie I will put forth Floor when the aliens come to ask us for our best humans on earth. But seeing how recent this was, I feel an obligation to request a song: The greatest show on earth. That's not a joke, not a vainglorious attempt at relevance. That's the name of the song written by Tuomas (the guy on the keys since the band was founded). He tries to capture the glory of all of life in a single song. And Floor tries to belt out that song like no other human alive on this planet could ever do.

This year in Wacken they stoped to take any more wehacles to tha camping area. Everybody got in by person, but wagons and cars had to stay out, because off the mud.
