Choose either "Ever Dream" to introduce her to Marko's voice; "Romanticide" for the harder kickass sound & Emppu's guitar work; or "Dark Chest of Wonders" for the greatest show opening of all time. She will see a different side from all three, and of course, all three are masterpieces. If it's Dark Chest ... watch as Marko & Emppu cross right in front of Floor as she enters the stage for the first time (the debut for most of these people of Nightwish's new singer). It's almost like they're pulling the curtains open on a new era!

Dark Chest of Wonders from Wacken 2013 is definitely worth reacting to. I'd also recommend Ghost River.

She wasn't even a permanent member of the band at that time, and the Valkyrie came out, OWNED the stage for the entire show, and made it impossible for anybody else to front that band. You could hear the countdown ... 4, 3, 2, 1 for the Nightwish blastoff to the galaxy of greatest musical entities to ever play. The entire band played at a level most people have never heard, including myself, and I think that had something to do with the important harmony amongst its members. All of them have a humility, which Floor also has, and you can watch, in that concert, how they each supported each other at a level I've never seen before in a band. Those of us who know, understand this level of excellence likely started as Emppu & Marko crossed in front of her and introduced her as their new front woman!!

Yes, Floor is Dutch, but she wasn't even well known in her own country until she participated in a show called The best singers. Talk about a vocal chameleon as you called it. She did so many different genres and owned them all. She is amazing.

This must be a win-win situation. Your wife gets to see this for the first time, you get to watch it again and we gets to enjoy it.
"Romanticide" for the heavy, "Dark Chest of Wonders" for the show opener, or "I Want My Tears Back" both to show her Troy with all of his instruments and Emppu pranking Floor. Almost forgot "Ghost River" where she can hear a couple of short growls from Floor.
I think you should introduce her to Marko's vocal ability with Romanticide.

I so love watching her experience them everyone will say ever dream but I think "Bless the Child" will get her good because it always gets me .
I imagine "Everdream" would be the popular choice and yes, it's probably the best choice. Don't forget the wonderful instrumental from this concert though, "Last of the Wilds" which is for me personally a top 3 favorite from Wacken. Thanks for introducing your wife to the band! I wish more reactors would bring in relatives to know and spread the NW love!
Love this, why not follow the Wacken setlist and do the dark chest of wonders. Wich in a way was Floor's European debut, for 82000 fans Who mostley never saw her with nightwish before. 🇾🇪🤘🔥💞

She mentioned Floor’s control of the crowd and how happy they were; you could take her to Buenos Aires and I Want My Tears Back. I agree with others though - I’d go with Romanticide next for Wakken.
I still can't get my head around the fact you kept Nightwish, and your love for them, a secret to your wife. It's almost criminal.

Storytime is my favourite song from the Wacken 2013 concert, it is a song about stories and we all know stories have a life of their own. At the time of this concert Floor and Troy were still guest musicians, they were invited to join around this time and it was announced officially with the release of Showtime Storytime later in 2013

Personally, doing the whole concert starting with Dark Chest of Wonders would be my preference but there is no "wrong choice" as far as NW tracks to react to...as long as you subject us to more of Chrystal. LOL

Can I make a suggestion.
To appreciate floor's amazing vocal spectrum. Just quickly deviate from the Wacken concert and show your wife, floor in her previous band Revamp and the song Disdain at grasspop 2010,to show how diverse floor's vocals are. She is the Swiss Army Knife of female vocalists out there.
For "I want my tears back" you should definitely show the Buenos Aires version.

Where Floor heats up properly. The only song of this concert that is even better in Buenos Aires.
I love all of BA2018 as well, mostly other songs, but just great.
Agreed ... BUT ... you should also watch the Wacken '13 version as well ... just to see Emppu prank Floor by unplugging her in-ear monitors at around the 4:00 mark, and shortly after Floor looking him down as he returns to stage right. It looks like a mouse caught by the cat. I believe it was a significant moment, like the total acceptance of her as a family member. They have been tight friends ever since. At this point, every time Floor hits "the note" in Ghost Love Score, Emppu comes over to touch fingers (like ET) in congratulations and celebration! Don't miss that just because you saw the incredible display of love from the Buenos Aires crowd. They're both incredible.
@@chadbennett7873 thanks, i know all that stuff because i saw different versions dozen times and i read a lot of comments - i am a hardcore fan of NW and Floor, nevertheless very nice comment and info from your side…it is phantastic to see all the commitments to one of the very best bands and special credits to tuomas.
There's another great (fun) version of IWMTB, where you can see Emppu running from the Dutch dance monster during the whole song. By far the funniest version I've seen. Will check the name of that concert and edit it in afterwards. Cheers!

Wacken is fantastic but....you should check the Hellfest concert from 2 months ago than you can see how they are today and how they evolved, and than begin with Noise ,Planet Hell and Shoemaker.

Love the reaction - may I suggest you go back to the start of the show with DARK CHEST OF WONDERS - that is one of the most spectacular opening songs ever.
By the way when she says "that reminds my of a circus" - it is literally. That track is played in the Nightwish-Imaginaerium Movie (yes, there is a Nightwish Movie to the Imaginaerium album) and the scene in the movie (and the music video) is player in a circum like scene. Tuomas has said Cirque de Soleil was part of his inspiration. I have been to a few of their tent shows and original music is a big part of their theatrical story based circus shows. Tuomas is also big on movie soundtrack music, working with a London orchestra and Pip Williams famous for movie music.
Oh Jim, you have just missed them in the USA, they did some 8 venues. Yeh, do more !!!!
While Tuomas, Emppu, Marko and drummers Jukka earlier and Kai later are indeed Finnish, there is also English multi instrumentalist Troy who during the time of Wacken was not yet an "official member". His position as a permanent member of the band was announced at the same time as Floors in autumn of 2013. At the time of Wacken he only played in songs which needed some "celtic vibes", so I guess that's why everybody seems to forget him. However nowadays since Markos leaving Troy participates almost every song because he's the replacement singer for Marko.

Floor is a Dutch variant of the Latin name Flora and means “flower” (from Latin “flos”). Jim forgot also one member of Nightwish - Troy. Redemption song would be "Last of the Wilds" or "I Want My Tears Back" from the same live. 😅

maybe you should explain to your wife why they are so happy right now because this Wacken 2013 concert only took place about 5 months after floor came in and had to be able to sing a setlist of 15 songs within 48 hours that she had never even heard of the then last album. and that it has been very close or there would be no more Nightwish now (that is what Thomas said in an interview and he also said that if Floor would stop at Nightwish then the curtain will fall for Nightwish as far as Thomas is concerned

Great Reaction! Nightwish came to the U.S. earlier this year (2022), but only played 6 concerts, and none of those were at big venues, before heading back to Europe for the Summer Festival Concert Tour. Everybody I see that watches them for the first time are blown away by them. I think they are more popular in South America than the U.S..
If you want to take a little break from Wacken and want to hear Floor's voice with just an acoustic guitar, listen to How's The Heart Acoustic Live Planet Rock. Floor's singing on that song will astound you!
Hi you two, Floor told on Beste Zangers and on her own channel, she daily trains like a apnoe deep diver and does other exercising to keep her voice and her stamina on stage fit. What a wonderful reaction by both of you. Wacken 2013 is a legendary show as is Wembley 2015, Tampere 2015, Buenos Aires 2018, and Hellfest 2022 (a couple of months ago in France). The Hellfest 2022 entire concert video has been uploaded by ARTE (French and German television). That video has had 2.1 million views in two months. To tell something about popularity of Nightwish in Finland, every single album they have released has gone at least gold and most albums have double platinum on sales.
"The last ride of the day" definitely the last song you need to listen in this Wacken Consert..

I think maybe "Romanticide", it is heavier... But, let her see for herself that with Nightwish and this style of Metal Music, heavy is not something you need to shy away from.
Jim You have to do some Wembley 2015.; ‘Shudder before the Beautiful’, ‘Seven days to the wolves and of course ‘Poet and the pendulum’ at least
I saw them May 8th in NYC. They are as fantastic now as they were then. Changes in the band but still brilliant. The reason USA doesn't know about them is the US music industry sucks. 3.5 minute crap songs with no lyrical story and little composition. SONG OF MYSELF, DARK CHEST OF WONDERS(the show opener), ROMANTICIDE, GHOST RIVER...... actually, any song from this concert. Remember, Floor was a replacement singer because the 2nd lead singer had health problems and friction in the band and was replaced mid tour. At this point Floor had been with them for just 10 months.
