- It' time to get started on the Belltech 6" drop kit and c-notch. This is not a step by step however it does give you a pretty good guideline to installing one by yourself with basic tools!

You are killing it. You are going to have a sick C10 when you're done.
That's the plan Bud!Thanks
Best video I have seen on the topic so far! Thanks!
Wow, thanks!
Looks good. I just personal never liked lowering them that far. My 80 was that low had to raise it up, drop kit was good welded it soild and boxed it in, just to low for me. I also had a ford that low.
🤫
How did you reverse it? I just bought an 80 with a 6/8 drop and it's WAY to low...
Looking good! As I’ve said I don’t like lowering or drops or lifts even, I respect and love that you like the way it’s going
And as always Fox-man, I respect someone who can respect another's passions! Your a good Fella!
The fixes to the body turned out really well. Great job.
Those brackets are pretty slick good job
Yes they are. Thanks man
Wow! Well done!
Thank Ya! Thank ya very much!
Good video Jason
Very cool project 👍 great job 🍻
oooh, my Hilux ( your tacoma ) has belltech drop spindles! Ive never looked into the american stuff, this is cool!
Thank Joey!
The channels look good on the frame after them being bolted up
They sure do! Now to get it painted up!
Looks like a well put together kit. On the brake line, just pinch it off. You don't need it. The front wheels do most of the braking anyway. :-D
😉 Good call Harley!
Heck yeah bud ! Awesome what do you have plan for tires / rims ? Or ya keeping it as is ? Yeah been subscribed to UBT since day one ! It actually was Whitlock garage before UBT ... I love that channel ... as always señor much love love this content brother !
Hopefully you can make it to the show! Thanks Hermen!
Olde Carr Auto Guy hopefully bud ! Much love
Jason your a braver man then me lol but then again I probably wouldn't have dropped it as much if at all but looks good so far
It's not bravery, it's determination! lol Stock is good too....
Heck yea slam it low...... love it
did you have to notch the bed rails?
No, just the frame.
I just got a nice original paint 86 c10 silverado and it has a bolt in beltech C-notch and it sits nice. Does the bolt in notch compromise anything? Should I get it welded?
According to belltech it’s designed to be strong and strengthen the frame. I have faith in its integrity! Thanks for watching!
@@OldeCarrGuy thanks. I noticed that this truck drives nicer than my other truck with a similar drop kit and no C'notch It could be because I have 15" wheels and bigger tires and the 20 inch small sidewall tires. Ty
The 15" certainly doesn't hurt. But with static drops, you're pretty much maintaining the stock ride. I run 18" tires and it still rides pretty good.
@@OldeCarrGuy I think the gentleman I bought my trycj from told me that 18" the highest I can go. 18" will look lower maybe. Just want to find the widest and offset that is best for the rear. Thanks
What size drill bit did you use?
I believe it called for 1/2”!!
Olde Carr Guy thanks man. Going to be doing this tomorrow!
It’s really not as intimidating as it looks! Just be sure to support the frame on both ends of your cut!
Olde Carr Guy will do! Thank you!
If you need help with brake issues... don't come calling me 😂
"I'm going to cut the rivets out... because that's fun" made me laugh
Belltech has had an industry leading name for years. Had thoughts of C-notching my 95 F-150 way back in the day, but that never happened. Dale gettin' low!
haha! Got those brake issues fixed first thing!
man that is going to be super low in the back. You already have 4 inch drop kit on there now with those drop or raised hangers in front and those longer shackles in back those together usually net about 4 inches of drop and now with another 6 on the flip kit? You may want to wait a bit on removing those leafs in case it sits too low. I would assume someone has done some lowering in the front to make it match the back maybe just spindles, maybe cut springs or drop springs? My point being you've got like a 4 or 5 inch drop max in front(after you install your kit) yet the rear as is should be around 10 and that may end up not what you are looking for in the complete drop. Now then again not a problem because if you were to install factory front hangers and factory shackles, it'd be exactly what the kit was for drop wise and then removing leafs could help to soften the ride and maybe drop the back a bit more. Loving it so far, going to do my dad's the same but wondering if I might squeak by without the notch.
Yeah! I realized all this once I set it on the ground last night, when I reassembled everything. Its practically sitting on the bump stops. it was then I realized that I needed stock replacement spring hangers and shackles. You have a good eye to catch all that from the video. I knew it would be lower but this is way too much for the look I was going for. When the drop springs and spindles are installed, I want it to sit level and it doesn't look like I'll have that as of now!
It's all a learning experience for me and I'm having fun! Thanks for your observation and thanks for watching.
@@OldeCarrGuy Anytime buddy my eyes are actually terrible I've just been around these trucks alot and always looking into parts and watching videos, pics of them. I know lmc has them but at what cost not sure. I just order a rear shackle hanger for dad's and it wasn't bad around 45 us shipped. I hear the front's are more expensive. I also know rockauto has stock shackles and maybe some local parts store because I'm not sure if rockauto ships to you? You may even hit up some facebook squarebody pages or forums and offer a trade for your lowered stuff to their factory stuff? As always though buddy love watching the build.
