The measurement from the flat surface of the laser to the top of the material isn't actually 50.8, it more like 49.4 or 49.5. 50.8 it's from the top of the material to just above that flat surface because the lens is placed just a little higher up. Measure the clear ruler that came with the polar and you'll get a different measurement than 50.8. I always use my calipers to focus my material like u do but I use 49.4 and use my clear ruler to make sure I'm in focus.
Thank you for sharing. What glasses do you use for eye protection? I wish I could be as confident as you when using my polar. I stand a few feet away before firing as I'm worried a laser beam will reflect on some metal part on the bed and shoot towards me through the glass window or some crack or air vent in the cabinet.
Thank you for your help. No one seems to want to help me getting my polar setup with focus and all the things I need to do
@@ChrissCraftCo it can be a process. Just be patient and the learning curve is much easier
Absolutely amazing. Best test card I was able to do using your method!
Thank you for this Tip.

Where can I download those clips to hold material?
I got them from the Facebook group page. If you aren't a member you will need to join to access the page.
