I have this amp and run it through a TecAmp 2x12 600W Classic. Great sounding amp absolutely loving it but the only thing I miss is the DI pre / post option. This is a true 500W amp and gets really loud, put compression up to about 2 o'clock and it seems even louder. Highly recommended :)
Absolutely love my Ashdown Rootmaster 420. Great for home practice and loud enough for jamming and small gigs. Pair it with the lightweight NEO Cabs and it's the perfect rig with a lot of options
I think we'd love, LOVE to see an Ashdown Rootmaster $999.00 500 watt 2X10 combo VS the Ampeg Portaflex $979.00 500 watt 2X10 combo shootout. LOVE! Both great sounding, pounding, achievable, gigable combos. Please, please, please.
I don't think the Captain is really right at the begining. Ashdown did the Superfly, the Pibass and the Mibass, which were kind of small and lightweight (not as lightweight as the actual line, but lighweight compared to the traditional amp rig) but they were not a huge success. Anyway, great video as usual. You guys rule!
+Andertons Music Co What about some shock-mount cradles for the cameras as to eliminate the vibration shake from the bass rig? Would definetly tick the last box for production improvements of the channel :) Keep up the good work dudes/dudesses!
Very nice, but how does one carry the head around? Doesn’t look very protected. I give it 3 gigs in and out of the van. Also would have been nice to know what the head wattage is at 8ohms or does one have to buy two of these cabs to get the wattage out. The 800W version is only going to put out around 500W with one cab. Do they make a 4ohm version cab? Just listening to it doesn’t give a serious potential buying much to go on.
Can you guys do a sounds like for turnover? I know they aren't too popular but they have a very unique sound and I think it would be very interesting to see what you guys would pick :)
There is something different about these light weight amps, they do have less girth / energy mass pushing the speakers. Efficient but not as nice as the old timbres
Hey I have a slight dilemma, see I pay bass but currently only have one bass. I play rock school grades (standard tuning 4 string... Obviously) but also play in an orchestral group where we go below standard tuning, I was wondering whether to get a 5 string or get heavier strings and change between gauges for different purposes?
Maybe I’m old fashioned but when I listen for a bass I don’t wanna hear lead guitar an octave lower. They kept saying this rig was loud? It sounded like I was playing in my living with my wife yelling at me to turn it down and me listening. Is this a practice rig? Why don’t they let it rip like they were playing a gig?
Would you guys be able to get your hands on a TwoNotes Le Bass preamp pedal? interested to see how it is between that and something from Darkglass. Price and sound wise. Thanks!

Amazing Amps & Cabs.. I love them X

So, when are we gonna get to hear the Captain play bass...?
I like the cameras being shook by the bass! If this doesn't happen, its not a real test :D

i wouldn't mind one of these for gigs and stuff, I love ashdown amps ever since I got my Five Fifteen, it sounds so sweet!
Nice demo, Nathan is a great bass player
nice demo guys much appreciated
This is a great set up to equal and better Mark Bass.. Cheers for the review.
Good timing, have been thinking about getting one of these!
Love the looks of that amp... and Stratus on the bass doesn't make it worse. :)
I would like to see/hear some of the Ampeg Portaflex series
+1 for Continuum!

Sounds killer
Can someone do a review on their 2x12 cabinet!?! I’ve yet to see any videos on it…

Huge sounds from tiny things ;-)

Please review a Rickenbacker 4003?
Shut up and dance - apparently by Walk the moon
Do the rumble fender series. Sounds tasty
Still great videos !! Think you can review the Fender Rumble amps, I think they are great value for money for people who can't afford valve amps
Is the sound closest to ABM series?

runforcoverrecords has a video where they go over their gear. Search "turnover gear talk"
Not a huge fan on the drive on this amp, not sure if that could be an issue with the flat EQ though.
can dave show up for a few videos? maybe on something like gain mayhem, where you try out a lot of overdrive/distortion/fuzz pedals
How good are these Rootmaster cabs as far as tone, construction and overall volume goes?

Might sound silly ..The guy play the bass, Is he Mark king's brother ? Nathan King
Colm Rooney yes Nathan is Mark's brother
Thank you for reply... :)
Oh yeah! Shake them cameras! Me like!
could you possibly do some videos on good starter bass guitars like the ibanez sr300 or fender squire/ p ect?

I'm thinking about adding the 1x15 for extension what connection do I need for the stack?
Sounds like Sounds like !!!!!
+Ashmit Sinha best suggestion yet!
Andertons Music Co haha , well I just saw the sneak peak of the coming sounds like on Pete's Instagram :)
this amp with the active bass...dont like active circuits usually...

Ooooooooooh.. okaaaaay :-O Might have just seen my new rig! Ha
are the cabs front ported?
Have anyone tried the combo if so is it any good please
SR500? or SR505

+MikeRodioMusic We have Darkglass coming soon & LeBass pedals are in stock, so we might do something on those!
+CaptAnderton Tremendous
Maybe mass-produced bass cabs will improve in the next decade: the improvements made in the last decade are still being ignored.
Does the EQ in the amp affects the DI out signal?
On these, yes, the DI is post-EQ.
On the ABMs it's switchable, so you can select pre- or post- EQ to the DI.

that rhymed
does anyone known of any channels like Andertons and Chapman but for drums?
+Jamesz22 Hi James. We will be doing drum videos very soon. Thanks for watching.
Drumeo is maybe the closest I can think, but they do more lessons than product reviews.
12:19 where the bass shakes the camera
I'm not buying it until the camera shakes!
11:24 Haha
Too much talking.. Not enough sound samples
Ibanez sounded like poo in comparison to Fender Jazz...
I don't have any stake in this, but I betcha the bass wasn't dialed in right. Lot o' knobs on the Ibanez...
