  • The San Diego Prospector shows how to run a Royal drywasher. We are down in the Cargo Muchachos working in a old creek bed. We are on one of our new claims and doing some sampling to find some gold!

Very nice video, the only thing my dad and I do differently is instead of brushing your dirt into a bucket, we unhook the chain put our pan on the bottom and unlatch the riffles and let all the dirt slide into the pan, a few taps on the side get everything right into your pan, makes it quick and easy. Keep on having fun prospecting.

+Nathan Rieck Sorry it took so long to reply to your comment. You are right on with your method of clean out. I now just like you raise the riffle tray while the blower is running and let the air move all the material down into my bucket or pan. Makes clean out really quick and easy. thanks for the comment and idea!

It looks like it works about as good as dry washer could, that's nice. Is the blower set up with some kind of throttle control, where you can set the speed? Like a slider. Yep, that's really nice.

Your exit pile is off-center so that you risk losing gold into the waste pile when the riffles get gold accumulated. I will buy your refuse pile...

what kind of cloth do you use on the tray?

+backtoiron I'm not sure exactly what Royal uses for the cloth , but I believe it is a polyester fabric. Its very thin but seems to be pretty durable. I have been using my Royal now for around 3 1/2 years and have yet to wear one out. I sell replacement screens in my shop that someone can keep with them in the field if needed. Of course in an emergency you could just use a piece of tape to cover a tear or worn spot until you had a chance for a proper repair or recover.
