An entertaining assessment of the NYT list, I've read 15 of them but there were lots of non-fiction, which I don't generally read, and I usually prefer British/Commonwealth authors to American ones so that handicapped me... I definitely recommend The Corrections, I devoured it and enjoyed it immensely. I'm interested to hear that you like Elif Shafak, I was disappointingly underwhelmed by "10 Minutes 38 Seconds..." but maybe I'll give this new one a try...
Thanks @johnnzboy, I'm glad you enjoyed it. I shall be searching out The Corrections forthwith. The Island of Missing Trees has, I think, a deeper meaning than 10 Minutes 38 Seconds, so hopefully you like it. Shafak's latest release "There Are Rivers in the Sky" is out in hardback on 8th August and sounds fascinating.
Hi there! thank you for the very personal assessment of the books on that list. I really appreciate it! All the best!
