Thanks for the memories, now living in Scottsdale, AZ and America for the past 39 years, you are riding my old stomping grounds in the UK. I have ridden many motorcycles (Goldwing, Triumph, Harley’s, BMW, etc) and on my third RT, which I lick up next week in Lakewood, CO. Ride safe my friend 👍

Love the new 1250 bikes. Do u think the RTs will go with the TFT screens in the future . I like a analog tach but like some things the tft screens bring to the game. A little bit off on a trip makes for a better longer ride .

Congrats on the new bike. Same colour as my 1200RT. I get around 300 miles to the tank but i have 4500 miles on mine. Its a fantastic machine and still amazed at how agile it is given its size and weight. The packtalks sound great. Had same problem with my freecom 4 mic in my helmet rubbing on my lips but soon re positioned and its all good now. Enjoy the new RT. You'll get to 600 miles in no time.

I have a 2015 1200 RT LE (LC) bought new. Love most of it apart from the gearbox. Standstill into 1st is terrible, as is into 2nd and 3rd. Once moving the pro shift is ok. Gave up requesting BMW to sort it.
Would i buy this new 1250, if the gearbox is sorted now, yes.

    • @paulgriffiths6404

It seems to be too close to the gear selected. Anyway I am sure I will get used to it. Thanks for watching Bob.

I have a 2014 RT LC with less than 25,000 on the clock, mechanically it's great but I have to say the paint finish is starting to show signs of bubbling in several places so beware. I am in the process of looking at a change, BMW not helpful with, my advice keep an eye on the finish.

I've also just bought a new R1250RT. Have fun on the new toy and ride safe. I note you have the sat nav. In my opinion it's far too easy to nick from the RT so well worth fitting an anti-theft device for it. My favourite solution is the electronic one that links into the central locking. Nice and easy to fit (even for me). Check it out at www.thetroshinbeemer.uk/offsite/SatNavLock/Sat_Nav_lock_review.php

Congrats on getting the new BM, I'm sure you'll soon adapt to the changes between it and the Honda-the telelever front end and shaft drive are great once you get used to them. I get over 50 mpg out of my 1200 GS so I'd of thought you'll get similar. Not sure what your fixation is with the speedo accuracy, but you could always get the Nav6 and have the speed on there in big bold numbers from the satnav rather than the bike if you wanted to. Loved the banter between you two so I've subscribed. You could buy Ray one of those stretchy cable things to put on his disc lock after posting his mistake on here- I would :-)

Cheers pal, believe it or not the yellow cord to the disc lock was attached. Nav 6 confirm the Speedo is ok. Just felt so slow. There again it is so smooth compared to the Honda. Thanks for watching pal.

@@paulgriffiths6404 Oh dear find him a specsavers LOL. Don't forget you're moving to a much faster bike that's capable of cross continent touring so it's bound to feel like that in comparison to the Honda. Smoothness is a word that's mentioned a lot about the 1250, I'm slumming it with the 1200 so wouldn't know! looking forward to part 2

Hey Paul - Congrats!!! - I just left my beloved 2005 Honda ST1300 after a 13yr relationship with it for a brand new 2018 K1600GTL last spring. I love my new bike but, still feel sad about leaving my ST after almost a year. It' funny, I was just starting my new MotoVlog channel at the time but, life got in the way. I'm planning to re-kindle it this summer with the new bike and all new gear. I just subscribed to your channel after seeing this vlog. Man.. I wish you all the best with your new ride. I know you'll love it too. Maybe not the cost of ownership but, the new BMW's are worth it. Best of luck. :-)

Beautiful bike, may the motorway Gods smile on you :) BTW, you should invest in a good quality non poly carbonate helmet. Better safety.

Congrats on the new 1250 RT and if you need some assistance on the Phone, SatNav and Bike pairing, here's a great vlog I used for my 2018 GS Adventure, although I have the TFT screen, it should be the same steps, well hopefully it will assist - ruclips.net/video/LzPoILCj-aU/видео.html
