For my whole life I was convinced that they just screwed the order of the dungeons and that you are SUPPOSED to do 6 before 5 to get that staff... Jesus Christ...
Hawl and Sera The Shapeshifting Cyber Spider Tigress Lub Lub is whatever you want them to be. They are the smile of every little boy and girl at Christmas. The twinkling of the stars in the night. Lub Lub is... the 99%.
An old but cheap strategy I did to clear the game was to get the dungeon items first without clearing them, go to the seventh dungeon to get the Mirror Shield and beat the Turtle Rock boss, then get the golden sword with the superbomb and finally clear the dungeons. It was really fun to take out most of them with almost no effort. You remind me of that when you mention to get the Cane of Somalia first and use it to skip that tedious puzzle.
Didn't have problems with the dungeon, including the tongue part(it wasn't obvious for me, but I tried that not too long after I pressed the switch). But the part in 5:55? I had to get the Cane of Somaria before I passed it. (I was young and stupid, also I only killed the first crystal boss after finishing the 4th crystal dungeon). Also I was afraid of the Iceman. And I ran out of magic in the boss, so I got stuck. I love this dungeon so much.
+Jonathan BarSela I can agree to this. the ice dungeon in phantom hourglass has the same statue. Hookshot, point onto it's circle on the tongue, release.
Umut Solakoglu The way the room is designed does lead you towards the statue but like they said this particular dungeon has those statues in MANY places and puzzles including interacting with stuff like that is very rare in the game unlike the later ones that do it to death. You mostly know what you can and can't interact with.
i just went through this dungeon in the GBA remake and it was slightly less tedious than depicted in this video. i did a quick google search before writing this comment and apparently this dungeon was slightly modified for the remake.
Nintendo seems to make every Zelda remake easier, which I have mixed feelings about. Particularly the changes they made to the water temple in OOT. Yeah, it was hard in the original, but it was a crucial part of the experience. Making it easier makes it less memorable.
@@qty1315 I don't remember them doing anything to lower the difficulty of the Water Temple in OoT3D except making the locations of the water-changing areas and one of the keys more obvious and turning the Iron Boots into an item.
@@Wiimeiser The main reason why the Water Temple was difficult was because it was hard to navigate. Nintendo made it easier to tell where you were in the remake. I remember in Yahtzee's review he remarked that "The Water Temple is easy. Just go into the rooms you haven't already been to," yeah, except, you couldn't tell which rooms you hadn't been to in the original.
One of the rooms in here is a "You Can't Get Ye Flask" moment, isn't it? Also, which version of A Link to the Past are you playing, that makes LINK a bunny permanently & has that "But, does it clash with your fur color...?" message put in place?
I just beat this dungeon today, so I'm fresh of experience and I can confirm that is quite frustrating compared to the previous ones. Fortunately I did the Misery Mire before it, so I skipped the annoying puzzle with the blocks.
0:31 It took me awhile to realize why Bunny Link was useful but then I realized that you were using a mod that makes Link a bunny for the whole game. Okay that's clever.
5:20 Just to clarify, the blue mail reduces damage by 50%. The red mail in the final dungeon reduces damage by 75%. Unless the hack changed that or something.
I actually went to the 6th dungeon to get its staff to solve the puzzle. The amazing thing about that is, I somehow managed to skip about 70% of that dungeon when I went there later because I just rushed in to get the staff earlier.
You know, one thing I like about the Worst Levels Ever series is that sometimes you go over a game I might want to play, so I have an idea of how to avoid getting terribly stuck or how to combat the annoying parts of the more dangerous levels.
When skipping the level to get the cane of Somaria early and avoid the final puzzle is a valid strategy, you know this level is painful. It's like having to clear Ghosts 'n Goblins twice.
What version are you playing with bunny link (Who can't do anything the English and Japanese versions, and is only when you don't have the moon pearl or when a magic thing gets you.) and the triforce is red?
And now I have done a Swordless No Damage run of this place: ruclips.net/video/xPVxjdBov8g/видео.html Yeah, Ice Palace was just awful to deal with. Though to be sure, enough of it was from using only the Hammer on the Pengators and Kholdstare's second phase. The funny thing is, the pressure plate switch puzzle was more of an annoying gnat than anything, but the moving floor room more than made up for it.
The GBA version fixed it in another way... Hit the Stalfos in a way it falls in to the switch that you need to push a block from the upper floor, of course, the sequence breaking factor still exist in that version.
Correct me if I am wrong, but that annoying puzzle was changed for the gba version, right? Even though it is a really annoying puzzle, it is really satisfying I guess when completed!
I'm gonna assume you're a MtF rather than the more likely scenario that you were just trolling. Also, another good video. Hope you enjoyed your recent play through and didn't save state too much ;)

It's filled with long, narrow passageways, forks galore, frequent encounters, dangerous enemies and scarce save points. Good luck.
You need to push a block to hold down the switch eh? Or you could easily sequence break to get the cane of somario. And yes, that's a joke, I know it's somari.
funny fact: I played A Link To The Past when i was younger and I stopped playing because of this stupid dungeon... XD. I think i never realized you could pull the tongue, and reading walkthroughs while playing such a game really puts you down...so much that it makes you feel like you don't deserve to play it anymore...so....Damn this dungeon!

Ice Palace sucks along with Turtle Rock. That place needs you to use your magic items a lot. The boss is a problem because you have to use the Fire and Ice Rods to take out his heads and if you run out you have to die to restock on magic power!

I thought literally the only thing was the red triforce and the fact Link is, well, a bunny, but that comment from the big chest about the tunic clashing with your fur color made me confused. Umut Solakoglu Those statues appear in most of the other Dark World dungeons and they did nothing before.
Umut Solakoglu
Its funny enough i did it in one try, maybe because i was lucky.
Oh! Ok then, my bad. As someone who never saw that before, I naturelly looked at the tongue first.

Water levels are always the worst. In the absence of one, "solid water" will take this responsibility.
At this point I would've just went to Misery Mire and got myself the cane of somaria. Just to skip that puzzle.

3:02 9:15 thank god it's (sort of) remake A Link Between Worlds has teleporting circles. (and regenerating magic)
