I recently went into my 17-year-old daughter's bedroom and did come cleaning, organizing, and decorating. She's a HS senior and she's been working so hard in school, and she has a part time job. She almost cried when she came home and saw her room. She said "Oh mom! I feel like I'm on HGTV!" Her room is usually not clean at all, but I can see that she is working so hard in other areas that I wanted to bless her. I think this also teaches your kids to serve and bless others, when they have the opportunity. 🥰
The kids rooms really aren't that bad. My mom never really was the best at teaching me how to clean and setting a good example for how I should keep up with my room so it was always super messy. I think you set an amazing example for your girls and I know they appreciate all of your help and kindness. Love your videos!
I was raised by my mama, grandmother, and aunt who were so clean….you could eat off their floors!! Everything was behind doors and drawers…organized and no extra!! They set the example for me!!👏🏻👏🏻. You keep doing you mama!
It is your home and so you have authority in your home. Don’t let anyone get to run their home and yours. Everyone gets to do what functions best for them as a family. I do hand over hand learning with my kids. I also go into their rooms from time to time and do my cleaning. My house, my rules. No one gets to tell me how to do it.
Jamie empty nester over here. People will judge you no matter what! Mine were responsible for school, that was their job. Yes keep your room tidy but I cleaned the house including the bedrooms. We all pitched in around the house when it was warranted as a family but it’s unrealistic to heap so much on a child. You have to be age appropriate with them & that includes your expectations on housework. Keep doing you. FYI… mine are grown and amazing humans who are productive in society. Not living in my basement because I cleaned their room as a child! 🙄😂

I played school with my brothers and sisters. I have been a teacher for 42 years and I am retiring in May. It’s very hard but time. ❤❤ I have 2 sons and they have daughters. So my 2nd grade granddaughter plays school with her sister and her cousin. She is going to turn 5 Monday and she wants to be a teacher like her grandma😮😂❤. I think you are an awesome mom!!! Yes we do need mom touches to our kids rooms. We show an example. Keep doing what you do. I have followed you since you have started and still look forward to watching you every week. Yes I love your videos on cleaning organizing. My mom wasn’t much of a house keeper but I learned young, and I am good house keeper. Real life messes are nothing to be embarrassed about. What I see from it is that your girls have a full life of school and other activities that keep them busy, which is such a blessing. My mom consistently cleaned my room as a kid (while teaching me how), because she said I was a kid once and had other things she wanted me to prioritize.

You’re doing a great job with your girls. Listen when mine was teenagers I would go into their rooms once a month and do a good Mom clean. They had laundry baskets in their rooms for dirty clothes and they knew if it wasn’t in the basket 🧺 I wouldn’t wash it. Believe me both of them learned to do laundry as a teen. Lol!! My biggest thing was that I wanted my children to grow up and be respectful, responsible adults. I thank God everyday that they did and now they are doing the same with my grandchildren. I know it’s hard sometimes but I think we all just try to do the best we know how. You and Mike are raising your girls to do the same. Hats off to you both for being amazing parents. Thank you for another great video! The round laundry baskets are great for the towels on the top shelf. The rolled up towels fir perfect and you can see what is in them thru the holes. Also, you can easily grab the holes at the bottom of them to pull them down. You always show us the best ideas! I love your perspective on parenting in this video! I agree wholeheartedly!

I agree with you 110% every household is different and I think you’re doing a wonderful job being a parent is always trial and error but I think you do a wonderful job. Your kids are proof of that. You should never have to explain why you do things I understand why you do because there are critics that want to come on and say something different which should be kept to themselves, but I think you’re doing a wonderful job. Hi Jamie, thanks for your videos, I really enjoy them. They motivate me to take care of my mess. I love that you show real messes and you shouldn't be embarrassed to show the mess in the girls room, that is real life.😊 I was very much like you when my kids were little, I would have them help some but I did mostly everything because it was much easier and faster for me especially if I was home and the kids were at school or doing some activity. However now that they are young adults it's very difficult to get them to help around the house. It can get frustrating because im not as young as i once was and i don't have the same energy i once did. So if I could do things again I would definitely give them more responsibilities so that as they get older it becomes part of their routine. Parenting is not easy and I commend you for doing a great job.
You are a wonderful mother, and don't let anyone make you think differently. You always show what is real, and I don't see anything wrong with that in my opinion. Hi Jamie! I didn’t get to watch your video last week until real late. My hubby officially painted the last space in our house. Yes he started in April or May I believe. It was my closet and I decluttered more of my clothes that I was holding onto and it didn’t fit. Some I’m going to try to sell, some I’m giving my twin sister and some is going to goodwill.

I use this same stain remover. My hubby does HVAC. His shirts can get on the messy side with dirt & grime. Another DYI Laundry Hack…. Add a tablespoon or so of Murphy’s oil to the dawn, peroxide and baking soda for very stubborn stains. It works! Great video!❤

I also enjoyed the BSC they do happen to have the series I believe on Tubi which is free and the movie somewhere too even though different actors for movie to the series I never understood that lol. Those dollar tree organizers look like they def come in handy. Can’t go wrong with it. You should never feel embarrassed about your kids rooms! We all have kids and have all been through it. Trust me! I was the same way. I did their laundry and left it for them to put away when they were in middle school. But every room in my house got a good monthly "mom" clean and declutter. My kids are older and married and I see they are the same way at their houses. So they did appreciate it when they were younger! I love your videos! I love how you talk to us one on one in your videos. Like I am sitting down with a friend. 😄👍
Ok, I just wanted to jump on here quickly and say the stain hack you gave for blood is phenomenal. One of our cats got sick on my living room rug (white, yes, what was i thanking having a white rug 😂). I used my carpet cleaner and the oxistain pet cleaner, which is amazing, but it didn't pull all of it out and left a stain. I came out this morning, and though let's give the dawn, baking soda, and peroxide a try. Left it sit on for about 30 minutes and NO MORE STAIN! Thank you so much.

The kids’ rooms are fine-thank you for showing them! I do think it’s important to teach kids to clean up after themselves and care for their rooms, but I also do not think that children are able to really maintain their rooms totally by themselves. I do the same as you and clean and purge in my daughter’s room periodically. She is always so grateful afterward-it is overwhelming for her to manage when the stuff gets to be too much. Keep doing you! ❤ I always get so much motivation from your videos and working alongside you.
I can’t agree more with parenting not being black and white. My kids do great in school, do homework without a fight and always show up as great athletes in any sport they do. So if helping them by tidying up their room or giving it a deep clean is what I need to do to take some pressure off them then I will absolutely put the time in to helping. You’re doing an amazing job.
I agree with you 100% my girls rooms were always a mess. I would have to go in and and give them a good cleaning. They also had chores where they had to pick up after themselves and they did it to the best of their ability so you’re right and what you said you guys be safe and God bless.

Hi Jamie, thanks for your videos, I really enjoy them. They motivate me to take care of my mess. I love that you show real messes and you shouldn't be embarrassed to show the mess in the girls room, that is real life.😊
I was very much like you when my kids were little, I would have them help some but I did mostly everything because it was much easier and faster for me especially if I was home and the kids were at school or doing some activity. However now that they are young adults it's very difficult to get them to help around the house. It can get frustrating because im not as young as i once was and i don't have the same energy i once did. So if I could do things again I would definitely give them more responsibilities so that as they get older it becomes part of their routine.
Parenting is not easy and I commend you for doing a great job.
You are a wonderful mother, and don't let anyone make you think differently. You always show what is real, and I don't see anything wrong with that in my opinion. Kids' rooms tend to be messy but that is part of them growing up, having creative minds and learning as they grow up. When I was growing up as a kid my room wasn't always clean until I grew up and became older. You and Mike are doing amazing! You two are doing amazing with raising happy, respectful and kind hearted children ☺️♥️

Hi Jamie! I didn’t get to watch your video last week until real late. My hubby officially painted the last space in our house. Yes he started in April or May I believe. It was my closet and I decluttered more of my clothes that I was holding onto and it didn’t fit. Some I’m going to try to sell, some I’m giving my twin sister and some is going to goodwill.

I use this same stain remover. My hubby does HVAC. His shirts can get on the messy side with dirt & grime. Another DYI Laundry Hack…. Add a tablespoon or so of Murphy’s oil to the dawn, peroxide and baking soda for very stubborn stains. It works! Great video!❤

I also enjoyed the BSC they do happen to have the series I believe on Tubi which is free and the movie somewhere too even though different actors for movie to the series I never understood that lol. Those dollar tree organizers look like they def come in handy. Can’t go wrong with it. Thanks for my motivation today of doing laundry 🧺 here on Long Island, NY our weather is up and down one day it’s cold the next it’s hot so crazy lol. Hope you guys have a great week! 💜😊
You should never feel embarrassed about your kids rooms! We all have kids and have all been through it. Trust me! I was the same way. I did their laundry and left it for them to put away when they were in middle school. But every room in my house got a good monthly "mom" clean and declutter. My kids are older and married and I see they are the same way at their houses. So they did appreciate it when they were younger!

Ok, I just wanted to jump on here quickly and say the stain hack you gave for blood is phenomenal. One of our cats got sick on my living room rug (white, yes, what was i thanking having a white rug 😂). I used my carpet cleaner and the oxistain pet cleaner, which is amazing, but it didn't pull all of it out and left a stain. I came out this morning, and though let's give the dawn, baking soda, and peroxide a try. Left it sit on for about 30 minutes and NO MORE STAIN! Thank you so much.

Just love them as much as possible! They will be grown in the blink of an eye! I used to clean my kids and grandbabies rooms everyday thier job was SCHOOL which I felt was important. Vacuum sealed bags are the best ! I just used them organizing my kids summer / other sized seasonal clothes !

The kids’ rooms are fine-thank you for showing them! I do think it’s important to teach kids to clean up after themselves and care for their rooms, but I also do not think that children are able to really maintain their rooms totally by themselves. I do the same as you and clean and purge in my daughter’s room periodically. She is always so grateful afterward-it is overwhelming for her to manage when the stuff gets to be too much. Keep doing you! ❤ I always get so much motivation from your videos and working alongside you.

I can’t agree more with parenting not being black and white. My kids do great in school, do homework without a fight and always show up as great athletes in any sport they do. So if helping them by tidying up their room or giving it a deep clean is what I need to do to take some pressure off them then I will absolutely put the time in to helping. You’re doing an amazing job.

I agree with you 100% my girls rooms were always a mess. I would have to go in and and give them a good cleaning. They also had chores where they had to pick up after themselves and they did it to the best of their ability so you’re right and what you said you guys be safe and God bless.
