Hi, thanks for the video. I ran out of battery of one of the wireless sensors fo my Vista 20P system. I wasn't able to get the battery replacement for some weeks, and today I replaced the dead battery with a brand new one, but the screen keeps saying that zone is open. What should I do to reset / test the wireless sensor? I was under the impression that just changing the battery will solve the issue but it wasn't the case. Your support is greatly appreciated. Regards,
So I tried to Trip the sensor so the serial number would automatically be in the number spots and its not putting it in when I open the sensor, it's not connected to any other panel and there is a battery because I just changed it today.
Joe, good information thanks. Question I have a Honeywell Vista-20P It is working great. but I have one sensor 5820L that's batteries every 4 to 6 weeks . How do I replace it with a new sensor. Can I just change the S/N of the sensor or do I delete the zone and install the zone again with the new S/N ?
Thank you for your question on the Honeywell Vista 20p with wireless sensors. How far away is the 5820l from the wireless receiver? Is your RF Reciever next to the vista or built into a wireless rf keypad?
The sensor is less that 20 ' away. The system was installed in 2017 and has worked fine till May of the year 2018. the alarm shows low battery, and when I test the battery it does show low. Does the sensor need to be replaced ? If so, how do I program the new senor so it as the same zone. Is there a way just to edit the S/N of the sensor ?
Thank you .Do you have a RUclips that would help on how to do it? I have an idea but I don't want to blow it or even delete all the programing in the control and have to reload all zones. Thank you for any help..
Great video series. I've been trying to use my 6150rf keypad to program a 5816 door/window wireless transmitter into my Vista 10P system. I'm working in the dark guessing at the prompts, but I think my steps are correct. I can't get the transmitter to "trigger" the 3 beeps in the "enter serial number" screen (if in fact I was on that screen to begin with). Because I can't see the prompts, I can't figure out whether it's a programming error, a hardware program, a system configuration problem, etc. Do you know if the prompts are similar in the Vista 10P? What's the most likely culprit to my dilemma? After a successful transmitter programming, after exiting, should the system already know to be NOT READY as soon as the magnet is moved away from the transmitter (ie. how do I know I have successful added a new wireless zone + device)? Thanks.
Thanks for your quick reply. I think I will buy a 6160rf keypad just to make programming easier anyways. Before I do, on the box of my 6150rf keypad, it said the keypad contains a built-in 5800 series transceiver. Does this mean my keypad is capable of wireless zone programming? Thanks again.
that just means that it has a built in wireless receiver to allow for wireless but you would still need a 6160 programming keypad to program the sensors

Hi GEOARM. I navigated to the serial number screen on my 6160rf for my vista 20p system. I can't trip the serial number on to the screen by removing the magnet from the wireless transmitter. I tried to enter the serial number manually, but this didn't work either (ie. the system can be armed with/without the new transmitter being there.) Am I missing something? Can this be a faulty transmitter? Faulty receiver in my 6160rf? or did I forget to enable a setting to allow for the transmitter to communicate with the system? HELP and thanks!
Hi, "4112800" doesn't work for me. The installer is no longer in business & I'm trying to program a 5816 for a new door. Honeywell customer service is no help. Any suggestions? The wall unit is M6983. Thanks!
+GEOARM Security No monitoring, just plenty of armed, nosey neighbor's! Lol! I was able to change the installer code, but don't know how to add the contacts. I was unable to do it following these steps, I guess the process isn't the same for the 10P? We finished out our garage & are trying to add 2 contacts (Amdeco 5816) to our Vista WA10P-2.0 system using a Honeywell M6983 keypad. Our alarm guy is out of business. Thanks for your help!
As a former installer it would be helpful to show users how to program the serial number into the keypad especially if they are replacing an old unit. Also please explain better the difference between loop 1 and 2. You glossed over the reason for the difference. Otherwise great video. Thanks
Thanks for supporting our page and the positive feedback on the diy installation of the honeywell vista panel. This is an old version of the video stay tuned for more tutorials.
There is a way to back door your installer code power down your system than power system up within 45 sec get to keypad and hold * and # until you see 20 installer than hit *20 4112 * 99 that should reset your installer code back to 4112.
Thank you for this! Easy process! In and out of the customers facility!
Thank god for this video.
Very helpful video. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for the love glad we could help you with your honeywell vista panel.
How do I add multiple of these door/window sensors? Do I need to create a new zone for every sensor?
Non hardwire rf contact loop is?

You will want to add a Honeywell 6160rf keypad or a Honeywell wireless receiver 5881.Programming on a 6150 is not going to allow you to program zones.

I believe you do have to enable rf radio within that keypad have you done that already or is this the first wireless device you are adding?
System Model # is WA10P-2.0. Thanks!
Do you have alarm monitoring services for this Honeywell vista 10p?
Would it be the same procedure for a vista 50p ?
No, the Honeywell Vista 50p is a much older panel and would program differently.

+GEOARM Security Yes, some of the ones we already have are wireless. Thanks!
Do you have key fobs on your keychain? Also how many wireless sensors do you already have?
Hello GEOARM Sercurity! How must I understand about loop number? Thanks!
