This Vintage Bar Cabinet had the WORST Refinishing Job I've Ever Seen

  • This little bar cabinet I thought was going to be an easy(ish) flip, but it ended up taking DAYS longer than expected. I had some significant damage to repair from a prior refinishing and it wasn't looking very promising. I even wanted to give up at one point.
But I'm glad I stuck it out.

I love your channel and your work. When I was in my teens, my dad bought a wood hull boat. The painter (his name was Harry) in the boat yard took me under his wing and schooled me in the art of refinishing the transom. It is an art and also a labor of love just like when you restore your pieces. I found that I had a talent for it, so much so, that people actually commented on how beautiful it turned out. That set me up with a passion for restoring wood furniture. I don’t do it professionally, as you do, but I’ve done quite a few pieces over the years. You are an inspiration! 😊

Not sure how you don’t have more subs… kinda baffling to me
Over the months of watching your vids, you’ve helped me restore an old wardrobe and my wife loves it. Neither of us can believe that it turned out as well as it did, and I wouldn’t have been able to do that without this channel. So big thanks lol

Oh I gain subscribers daily. It's taken a massive leap in the last year and I've only had my channel for a couple of years now. It just takes time for people to hear about me. 😊 Thanks for watching!

An amazing rescue! The end result is really beautiful. You continue to grow as a video maker. You're ability to tell a story through video continues to improve. The music throughout was a nice touch. I'm really looking forward to your next video.

Happy to see you back. This piece was awful and you spent a week on it to turn it into something lovely. You are so considerate of future refinishers who might want to change it up. And thank you for always showing us what products you are using and for leaving the text overlays on the screen for long enough for us to read them. It sounds like your holiday was the refreshing break you needed.

Yay second comment. Love this channel. Especially love your "REALLY cheap" refinishing video of that cabinet from a couple months ago. Rewatched it again and again. You used that eucalyptus paint and bondo to fill that broken corner, the missing edge banding, and the tracks for the doors - and paid $7 for it, I think. Rewatched it again and again. Also love the segment of you playing with your cat, and how you donated it to a charity-type thing.
