Swimming with whale sharks, SeeCreatures Cabo excursion. La Paz Mexico.

This Christmas we took a family trip to Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo. While there we booked a whale shark swimming excursion with SeeCreatures Cabo. They provided a 7am pickup outside of our Airbnb in San Jose for a two hour drive up to La Paz Mexico to meet our boat and go swim with the whale sharks.
The whale shark area is heavily regulated with 4 entrance windows assigned to each guide company. The number of boats allowed in at any given window is based off of the number of sharks spotted in the area that morning.
We were lucky enough that our boat did not have any other guests besides our small group of 4. Our guide Josie was amazing. She is a French Canadian adventurer who has lived in La Paz for almost 30 years. Her love for these awesome creatures really shows and is a contagious.
The warm shallow waters of La Paz are ideal for juvenile whale sharks to come and feed in the winter months. All the sharks we swam worth were 18 to 25ft in length. Full grown when sharks who do not frequent these waters can be put to 60ft in length.
On the way back we were also lucky enough to spot some migrating whiles who said hello to us.
