  • Maybe the only thing better than being 'mugged' by a blue whale is having one turn on its side and lift its pectoral flipper, almost as if waving hello! Close encounters with whales are on their terms. Our boat is in neutral and the whale decides how close to get to us.

I love whales, they are so amazing! I saw humpback whales one time in my life and it is on my bucket list to see blue whales in the wild.

Amazing! We took Captain Dave’s tour back in 2019 and didn’t get to see any whales but there were thousands of dolphins, at least three different species. Plus seals and other ocean life. It was a wonderful adventure that I will never forget. I hope to return to CA someday and take another tour.

First time subscriber from Trinidad this is touching I wish you had a big lake to keep the humpback whales from dying and showing up dead on the US beaches this is so sad. Keep doing the good job that you are doing 🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹

The Blue Whale (Sibbaldius musculus) is a large baleen whale with a cosmopolitan range, it feeds only on krill and is known to travel long distances, it is known for being the largest whale alive today, the largest mammal alive today, and the largest living animal in the world, it is the only extant species of the genus Sibbaldius and its closest living relative is the Humpback Whale (Megaptera novaeangliae), both species belong to the subfamily Megapterinae, which also includes the minke whales (genus Pterobalaena).
