- Erik Anders Lang is in the Southern Oregon Coast to play Bandon Trails. Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw began working on Bandon Trails, the third course, following Bandon Dunes and Pacific Dunes. It opened in 2005, and was constructed atop a massive sand dune that opens into a sprawling meadow, coastal forest, and back in the dunes. Join Erik as he takes you shot for shot at the incredible Bandon Trails at the Bandon Dunes Golf Resort.

I feel that I’ll par a hole and then double the next.
"What am I climbing Everest?" 😂 loved the commentary through the par 3. "I'm in there like a dad trying to get fruit loops out of his son's mouth." Probably my favorite 30sec of RGC yet
Your #11 shank...Stress of filming and what appears to be the awkward interactions that happen with passing groups. You start feeling self-conscious and without a clear head, that is EXACTLY what happens to me. I don't know how you do it. These are amazing videos.
Sometimes there are good rounds, and sometimes there are bad ones. There's definitely a bit of an added pressure when the camera is out. But, what really matters is trying to have fun with the game. Can't be too serious with it otherwise, it'll make for a difficult round.
I like all the natural landscaping and pine trees on this course. Like someone made a golf course while disrupting nature as little as possible.
Any video from the Bandon property is gonna be epic. Thanks again.
This series is so awesome! As a newcomer to the sport, listening to your insight and approach to every hole is so invaluable. This channel does such a wonderful job at capturing the essence of the game. It really is beautiful. Great job to your whole team. Big fan from Canada ☺️
The final stabbing putt after the flubbed tap in, was priceless. Love these course vlogs!
It’s so refreshing to watch someone who is good at golf after I go play a round of golf
I had the most ridiculous bogey today. Tee shot was pin high, but in the sand on the right. Clean sweep the sand and hit it into the trap Left of the flag. Then blade it out of the sand and land 35 yards away on the next tee box. Then use a 56 wedge and sink the shot for a 4

"I'm in there like a dad trying to get some fruit loops out of his kid's mouth"
Your engaging commentary just keeps getting better and better. These course vlogs get me so pumped to get out and play. I'm an Oregonian, and I'm planning on finally getting out to Bandon in the fall, so watching you play these courses is such a treat!
Honestly, seeing EAL on the 17th is so good to see. Yeah, it's not his best hole, but shows that everyone has bad shots sometimes. Thank you for sharing this with us! Much appreciated! And, of course, in these situations NEVER forget rule 17b.... :P
Trails was my favorite of all the Bandon courses when I played there. It just felt so different than all the other courses, you almost forget where you are until that 18th hole. Great video.
That course is so sick. We were just up there and got to play all 5 courses. Trails was by far my favorite. Love how every hole is isolated. Old Mac was a gem too though.
Best course vlogs on you tube hands down. And Bandon is the best resort in America if you love golf
Golf has gotta be the funniest sport. 17 killed me haha.. Love the videos!!
Thanks for letting me relive my favorite day of golf on my new favorite course. 14 is unbelievable and worth the trip from anywhere. You would think you’re in the middle of nowhere next to the ocean with no people, which you are!!!
I love the course vlogs so much that I just play them in the background. I’m an artist and I listen to your voiceover as I paint portraits in my studio. So many little bits of wisdom.
Easily best RUclips channel to watch and admire golf not how to hit it further for views but pure for the love of golf
The course vlogs are everything I ever wanted
I legit laughed out loud when he said "this is pure comedy"
It's so soothing hearing you narrate your round! :)
After a busy day at work it really is nice to open up RUclips and be greeted by a new EAL course vlog upload. Really gets me in the mood to go out and fight the course tomorrow lol
"And I don't even know what I'm thinking, I've never done this before" 😂😂😂
You took your medicine like a man Erik. Enjoy these videos where you show each shot. Bandon Dunes courses are pretty tough.
You are the absolute man EAL! Love this series
Watching these with a nice coffee while relaxing is simply therapeutic
One of the best course vlogs on youtube!!
These have become my favorite vlogs on youtube. Love em'.
O Man that was sooooo GOOD! I'm sorry but misery loves company and I just came back from the course and the bunker was just perfect. I know, we all know, it wasn't funny but it was sooooo Funny!!! Thanks Erik for sharing, aghhhh, so good, so good!
Very nice drive Sir Edmund Hillary on the 5000 yd par 5!! It's a great thing to be able to laugh at yourself, it makes you who you are EAL!
These videos are really good.
i love when people are a little too nice, its my favorite :)
First time coming across your videos and absolutely loving them! Some really funny comments, some good golf, some not so good.
Heading out to bandon next week so these videos are perfect, thank you!
Subbed 🔥
This episode was amazing, thank you for this Erik! ⛳️
Eric that 14th hole looks so nice!! I love elevated tees!! Lot of tricky greens or if you don't hit them you are penalized for not hitting them!! Thanks for posting looks very nice but hard!!
I love these every-shot course vlogs. Probably my favorite content on RUclips. Thanks, EAL!
commentary is always gold
I love when he says "Make it to the hole your own way" While hes hacking at the ball in the forest somewhere 😂
Absolutely love these videos! Cant get enough and your commentary is fantastic, keep them coming.
i absolutely love your "every single shot" vids.
EAL! That 2nd shot on 14 was pure brilliance!
That was definitely a good moment!
@@RandomGolfClubFilms Where is your striped jacket from? Would like to get one for my boyfriend!
What an awesome looking course. And another great course vlog. Thanks
Sir Edmund 'Tillery'? Do your research......LOL......kidding. That bunker shot and next shot were brutal. You weren't laughing on 17, but I was ;). No worries - we've all been there. :)
Hey internet, stop laughing at Erik! We've all been there! This one might be my favorite. Another great vid. Can't wait to get up to Bandon.
Wasn't quite sure on playing trails when I head out to Bandon, but after these 2 videos I'm definitely playing all 5!!
This course... maybe time for a trip. Never saw a course that made me want to travel so badly.
This was awesome loved the laugh I had but I feel ya lol
Trails, Sheep Ranch, and Old Mac were definitely my favorites. The scenery at Trails is just great, can't believe you had to walk that hill to 14 though.
These videos always look so professional. I want to get on this level of editing.
You really got me with the thumbnail pal😂
Favorite golf channel
What a cool course and also sometimes nice to see Erik shoot a similar score to me😂😂
6/18 played this course. On 17 when you're in the grass hole take your 58 take a steep swing like you're swinging out of the sand and swing left. I did manage to scramble a 80.
Like this stuff dude 👊🏻👊🏻🏴
#17 on an 18x loop is basically my round at Bandon Trails.
I just ordered some vice golf balls! I’m exited to try them!
a good walk spoiled. great book by the way.
What OB rules are you playing??? Does abandon play everything as lateral hazard??
Right?! This is what I was thinking! The same thing happens in another video. I was thinking that should've been double right?
Haha yeah dude - I said the same thing. 3rd shot after the drop? No way homie, either back to the tee or you can drop that for 4 (didn't need to drop it in the bunker either). Love these vids but gots to be repping the rules of golf out there!
Nice bunker cliff face climbing technique hahahaha
Brilliant video, just had a thought though, on the 10th after a wayward tee shot, is a drop and hit the 3rd shot? I thought this was only if it was lost in water?
ordered the Ace Cam is Live hat last night, can’t wait to get it!
Since when can you drop the ball if you OB`d?
What jacket did you have on earlier in the video? Pretty clean look, would like to grab one. Great video as always!
The beginning notes makes me instinctively lay back and kick my feet up
Edits are "on par" or should i say on eagle ...amazing dude thanks for the content
Really love the videos! I really wish I could've snuck into your video when you played there Bridges with Brian Bumgartner. I did get a card though lol.
I live in Washington and work in the Golf Industry and I've never made the drive down to Bandon Dunes....Need to do that next year!
its heaven
Keep grinding buddy 😁👍
Dang....you faced a 1,000 foot putt then later a 5,000 yard par 5?!? 😖😖
😅
Eric travels around the world so fast, the time-space continuum just struggles to keep up...
Have you guys ever heard of Black Diamond in Lecanto, FL? They have a couple courses designed by Tom Faizo. One is the Ranch Course, whose 16th, 17th and 18th holes "represent the three best finishing holes I've ever designed," according to Fazio. Then there is the Quarry Course, that has 5 of its holes set around an old quarry, and it's a real treat to play. It'd be amazing to see you guys be able to play there, as I don't think it's really super well known outside of my local area.
This is my favorite course out of all of them due to all the elevation changes. Plus, if you're out of shape, it's tough to walk, especially hole 16 lol.
Mind sharing where you got that pullover? That is a classy looking jacket!
“I am like a dad trying to take fruit loops out of his kid’s mouth” 😂😂😂
Thats what separates us from the pros. Once in a while we hit a great shot. The pros hit great shots consistently.
Hey Erik , what did you to film all the shots? Quality picture! Also, loved the video, what a course! My favourite design of the ones there (minus SR), great shot value.
Poetry. in. motion.
Love these videos but my biggest golf pet peeve is when people miss a short putt and dont count the stroke cause "they usually make those"... but ya didnt. LOL
Kind of n ice watching "normal golfers" play who still have skill. Just shows you how little there can be between a round where you shoot mid 80s and mid 70s. Just a few lip outs and few bad breaks later...boom.
Would love to learn more about why you choose certain clubs. Like, why a 5 wood on the tee box for a 400+ par 4? Why not a driver?
Great content. Got me back into golfing.
Great idea!
he can hit his 5 wood around 220 to 260 im guessing off the tee which leaves him with an iron he's comfortable with. Its a much easier club to control than the driver. its more important to be in the fairway than hit it far. Its called course management, when hitting your tee shots you want to first try to get it in the fairway and secondly set yourself up with a club you're comfortable with for your second shot.
its better to place a shorter shot in the fairway and be able to take a full swing with your next shot then to bomb it 50 extra yards but be in the rough and between clubs.
Course management is a must have skill to shoot low
Hi man! Great video, as always. Where is that killer jacket from? Cheers from Sweden!
Hole #17, I so can relate Erik...it gets worse and worse......
Shout-out to whoever editted the video to add the water effect 😂😂😂😂 classic
Thanks for noticing ;)
What shoes does hè wear these are so clean!!! And Nice vid man love these video’s
“Two shanks, one round”. Ugh, the imagery.
Me: sees video is a minute and a half longer than front 9 and thinks "uh oh..."
(Coz I like when Eric does well :) )
Hole 10, is that tee shot OB or a hazard? OB hit a provisional or take the 2 stroke penalty drop in the fairway. I'm lost as to why you dropped in the bunker.
I sense you and Kyle Berkshire are going to meet up and do a course vlog. Both of you are posting videos at Bandon Dunes around the same time.
why the driver on the short par 4's? understand the first one...why again on 14? cool to remember that course, thanks!
Sometimes we just take a beating! Last week I played my best ever competition round, then went out a week later and shot 15 over my handicap 🙈
"Missed that birdie put-- who can relate" --- me who has maybe one bird putt a round.....
They can't all be tap-in 6 footers haha!
I missed like 7 or 8 birdie putts the other day in a tournament😢😂
“Like a dad trying to get fruit loops out of his kids mouth” 🤣
If it were me on 17, those 8 shots would've been followed by 9 club tosses. 😂
4:40 caught that Lawsonia Links reference 😉
hehe
@@RandomGolfClubFilms been fortunate enough to play both trails and lawsonia - solid reference! speaking of random... preferred five pocket pants for golf?
Hole 14 reminds me of Pursell Farms
Man Erik...you’ve really got to start assessing penalty strokes and scoring correctly. I’ve noticed it in some of your other course vlogs, as well.
The simile about the dad getting froot loops out of his kids mouth... speechless
OB drop is stroke+distance. You were hitting your fourth shot from that bunker
Exactly what i was thinking lol
Might have been red stakes technically. Some courses say "everything over here is a hazzard" instead of marking it OB.
I don't think he said it was an OB drop tho
only just realised you've said the exact same thing as me. but yeah agreed.
Nope he was right. He was hitting 3. Under the new rules he can do that. Just allowed in tournament play. Hit 1 out. Drop 2. Hit 3 out of bunker
Don't feel bad, my cousin also made it in the only water that exists on the 5 courses. 😋
