This is from Martin Scorsese's Shine a Light movie in 2008. What's extra cool about it is the incredible sound mix that bumps the player/singer up a notch when they cut to them in the edit. I love that!
I hate it so much cause it’s way to often and didn’t show/let hear always the best… for example it seems Keith is playing the same 3 Notes in every solo spot over the whole show. When you see one or two Songs it’s ok but I think that’s the biggest „Con“ for the film…the Mix. But no hate only love that’s only my 2 ct s about the Film & the Mix.
OMG Mick how do you do it amazing you not to make your head any bigger but come on amazing thank you for all your talent keeps me going and alive !!!!!!!!
Look closely on 0:04 looks like Charlie was busy with something and Keith's guitar interrupted him and Charlie follows automatically with drums... this is what i call the legend... RIP Charlie.
I noticed that as well Charlie seemed to be in the middle of adjusting the high hat. Shows what tight band they were though..... or otherwise were just playing fast and loose , which post Micky Taylor did tend to be the case live to be fair. Nothing short of phoning it in at most performances Thus wasn't quite THAT bad though
This is the best film Martin Scorsese made of The Rolling Stones! Because the Rolling Stones were at the best and they're at top of their game! The Store are the best hard-working rock & roll and blues band in the world;
"Tumbling Dice" ... Keith said in his book (LIFE) "I can't believe out of all the tunes out there, no one ever thought about writing a song about dice" ... Then again, in Keef's defense, who ever wrote about sugar that was brown. Satisfaction that couldn't be found and getting some good ole "Shelter" ... Good Job Lads !!!
Jim Ronsivalli I saw zeppelin, the stones(7), cream, BOB DYLAN (41) and springsteen (3). Unfortunately the Beatles were done long before I was born. It’s been a pretty good life so far...
I love my exile on Main Street ,one of my favourite albums of all time, favourite stones album, however there great but I would not pay to see them ,I could not do it , I seen bob Dylan in 2009 in Glasgow,, what do they say never meet Your idols,,, never go and see your favourite bands and people from the golden ages. I got a good Dylan poster ,made up for it 😊
If the stone's tour again, a majority of their song's they sing n play, should be song's they've never done live like maybe, 1 WINTER 2 moonlight mile 3 jiving sister fanny 4 dance little sister 5. she was hot 6. coming down again 7 surprise surprise 8 she's like a rainbow 9 sister morphine 10 out of tears
They played Moonlight on the Zip Code tour last year, I was lucky enough to be at one of the gigs where they played it, not every stop, it was great to hear that one. It would be nice to hear she's a rainbow and dance little sister also.
Good point, THSR. There are many songs that they never seem to play live. You mentioned Jiving Sister Fanny. Great tune. Another one from that album (Metamorphosis) was "I'm Going Down." "Prodigal Son" from Beggars Banquet would be a refreshing change as well.
Happy Birthday Mick Jagger He was born in the County of Kent In the land where a queen won't repent For the evil she's done Like Attila the Hun And Obama, an ex-president As a youngster Mick listened a lot To the records his parents had bought Long before rock and roll Took a grip on his soul, When the radio played 'At the Hop' At eighteen he abandoned his studies To perform in a band with his buddies As they travelled the land They established their brand And had casual sex with their chubbies Watts and Richards and Wyman and Jones And the Mickster performed as The Stones Who got famous and rich After finding their niche In the era of rotary phones They were known as the bad boys of rock Selling out much more often than not At the concerts they played With the money they made They could each buy a Rolls and a yacht Mick was knighted, which caused some abrasion When he knelt on that putrid occasion Jagger clearly sold out And diminished his clout As a man of artistic persuasion David Bowie and Jagger were mates It was rumored the two had some dates And hot sex a few times After snorting some lines At each other’s palatial estates Mick's been charged and convicted three times For committing some trivial crimes His career was derailed But he never was jailed As he paid the appropriate fines But through all of the pleasure and pain And the trappings of fortune and fame Mick remains on the scene Not unlike Charlie Sheen Who's killed millions of cells in his brain So let's wish Happy Birthday to Mick Who's had many a number one hit On the charts in his time Now he's well past his prime Like Neil Young, Elton John and Grace Slick
They are already finished by now. This song is great on "Exile" and there is no need to turn it into a rocker. So Jagger is physically fit; BFD. The Mick Taylor years were the peak.
WAY, WAY TOO FAST. Come on Charlie. Sucks. (See Keith Urban's T-Dice w/Chuck Leavell on jimmy fallon for an excellent version)........This is the Stones at their worst. "Let's get this song overwith, collect our pay, and get the fuck outa here".
Sorry, but this is a really poor live version of 'Tumbling Dice', apart from Charlie who is still great. For those who don't know better, go and watch any live version of this from '72, for example the official 'Ladies and Gentleman" remastered cut. The guitar interplay between Keith and Mick Taylor (and Bill on bass) is phenomenal and Jagger's vocals have a real bluesy tone, delivered with passion, not this kind of high pitched vocal pap that he comes out with these days, sounds and looks more like Cliff Richard! As for Ronnie and Keith, just dire. Ronnie's lead fills sound like he's playing a different fucking song. Go and listen to the original cut off 'Exile" as to how this track should sound, or the '72 live version as mentioned. It's a brilliant track, one of the greatest tracks in the history of rock n roll and probably my favourite Stones riff, but this live rendition is frankly a travesty.
@ joe....the song is 46 years old, it's been played live hundreds and hundreds of times, you can't expect it to always sound like the recorded version. Plus, ALL singers, whether they're rock singers, blues singers. classical, country whatever, after 55 years ALL singers sing in a different key. You can't expect everyone to sound and sing the same after 5 decades.
To me the reason this version isn't great is because the original song has a weird languid tempo that was fantastic, this sped up tempo took away part of what makes the song great. Also Mick Taylor's leads on the live versions in 72 were the best, it has nothing to do with what key it's in
Happy Birthday, Mr. Mick. Best wishes for the next 80 years and keep on rollin'...
over 50 years and they still sell out the stadiums THE ROLLING STONES greatest rock/blues band in the usa
R.I.P Charlie, a rhythm legend
Best band EVER!!!

A melhor banda do universo
Je ne suis pas une fan de M. J......Mais là, comme bien souvent, son énergie et son talent portent à bout de bras le groupe !
I get season tickets each year to Utah Symphony/Utah Opera, but I love that ugly/nasty Rock and Roll, and always will.
Keith Richards is the only straight man who can pull off "Pirate Drag".
I am not so sure about the STRAIGHT thing

*MADE IN ENGLAND*
Happy Birthday Mick Jagger
He was born in the County of Kent
In the land where a queen won't repent
For the evil she's done
Like Attila the Hun
And Obama, an ex-president
As a youngster Mick listened a lot
To the records his parents had bought
Long before rock and roll
Took a grip on his soul,
When the radio played 'At the Hop'
At eighteen he abandoned his studies
To perform in a band with his buddies
As they travelled the land
They established their brand
And had casual sex with their chubbies
Watts and Richards and Wyman and Jones
And the Mickster performed as The Stones
Who got famous and rich
After finding their niche
In the era of rotary phones
They were known as the bad boys of rock
Selling out much more often than not
At the concerts they played
With the money they made
They could each buy a Rolls and a yacht
Mick was knighted, which caused some abrasion
When he knelt on that putrid occasion
Jagger clearly sold out
And diminished his clout
As a man of artistic persuasion
David Bowie and Jagger were mates
It was rumored the two had some dates
And hot sex a few times
After snorting some lines
At each other’s palatial estates
Mick's been charged and convicted three times
For committing some trivial crimes
His career was derailed
But he never was jailed
As he paid the appropriate fines
But through all of the pleasure and pain
And the trappings of fortune and fame
Mick remains on the scene
Not unlike Charlie Sheen
Who's killed millions of cells in his brain
So let's wish Happy Birthday to Mick
Who's had many a number one hit
On the charts in his time
Now he's well past his prime
Like Neil Young, Elton John and Grace Slick
Tumbling Dice is my favorite song 🎲💥🎲but this version is not 😔except amazing Charlie Watts 🙏

I'm a huge fan of the band and this tune, but the tempo is too fast. The album version is slower and better for it.
slow down ffs.
Mick give all - Keith thinks he is Jesus -
This is not in NY. Boston.
That was Tumbling Dice??
WAY, WAY TOO FAST. Come on Charlie. Sucks. (See Keith Urban's T-Dice w/Chuck Leavell on jimmy fallon for an excellent version)........This is the Stones at their worst. "Let's get this song overwith, collect our pay, and get the fuck outa here".
i give you one huge fucking down-vote. Keith Urban couldn't carry Keith's guitar case.
has mick ever had an ounce of fat on that physique??
Not the real Keith. They replaced him
stumbling mice.
Too fast
