It doesn't get better than Bleeding Me when in a somber mood or just needing to hear something epic, this is an epic journey of pain that many of us MetallicA fans that grew up in the 90s gravitates towards after the tumultuous 80s when it was cool to be evil/rebellious. I grew up under the roof of a very strict home and though my parents loved me a lot and my brothers thrived, being the youngest and not learning intellectually or learn life lessons the same way I struggled greatly for a very long time. James' music and writing helped me through that until I could come to grips with reality, and the thing is I still appreciate it today bc now it's something totally different to me, it's a reminder of my triumph over myself at least in self sabotage
This song is like a desperate call for help. Life on the road, substance abuse, caught in the frantic rise to fame. I think the whole band was going through many issues at this time in the mid 90s, and it resulted in some absolutely epic music.
These guys are so epic. You don't persevere for almost 40 years without being great . Their lyrics are always meaningful and musical excellence is off the charts . Take it from a 60 year old who has been listening To and enjoying them for 4 decades . And oh by the way , thank you for being genuine in your reactions . How refreshing !
A lot of people dogged load and reload but I loved the change because ya cant play it safe forever or your sound would just be the same and go away so I give them credit doing everything on their terms
This is from 1996, the Metallica era where James's alcoholism and anger management issues were becoming things in need of addressing. "Thorn in my side" is a paraphrasing of a Lord Byron poem.
This song Is about heroine. The leash is tied to the arm for the drug. The bleeding is for the blood from the needle and also bleeding of your being. Double Antundra
