Hello Matt and Amy. I just watched both of the productivity videos of you both. I would love to have my hands on one of those bullet journals for my first time ever. Thanks for the great advice and helpful tips.
Note to Self :P (5 Tips by Matt): 1. Start with a Daily Log of what you need to do that day. Start Simple 2. Keep a Master Task for every single week 3. Track a personal habit that you want to see progress on or improve every single day/week/month 4. Beginner Specific: Start with Weekly Spreads first 5. Make the Bullet Journal (BuJO) yours! Keep it minimal, simplistic and structured.
I like the collaboration. My tip: Before you start a list collection, consider how, or whether, you will use the info later. Any time I start a list for its own sake, it gets abandoned as soon as I turn the page.
I use my BuJo almost exclusively for school, and what I like to do is timebox: I have a list of specific tasks for homework assignments, I make a box of how long I think it would take me to complete it, and then color in how long it actually took. That way I become more aware of how optimistic I am or am not about alloting my time and I can plan better and more accurately :D #bulletjournalplease
I don’t know if this would be classed as one tip, or multiple little ones. But my tip is: The way you work changes, you change, your ideas change, therefore your bullet journal will change too, and this is ok! #bulletjournalplease
I started bullet Journaling this June and it has been a life saver. I discovered Amy this month and you today. I am so excited to get my life together. #bulletjournalplease. My top tip for bullet journal is to always have a monthly reflection page. You really have to reflect what went right and what went wrong during the month so you can adjust and become better
Hello Matt and everybody in the community! I’m So glad I found your channel. I come from Amy Landino’s community. I don’t miss any of her videos. I started my first BuJo in Jan 2018 and it was great for a while but I found it hard to be consistent because of my own perfectionism (not proud of). What resonated more to me in this video was that it doesn’t have to look pretty because it is only for me. I’m currently using the Day Designer planner and it really helps me to keep track of dates and appointments or anything that has a set time. The weekly spread is really simple and neat, but there is no place for me to write down any brain dump or tracking. So For now I just grabbed a notebook I started this year and this will be my BJ until I can get a new one #lockdown . Thank you so much for all your videos. They are really helpful 😊
Matt, I want to thank you for encouraging me to get back to journaling. I stopped because I was going thru some emotional roller-coasters. I should have remembered it is meant to help me thru anything. But watching you reminded me I am the driver of my own development and bullet journaling is the tool I can use. Thank you for everything you do. I greatly appreciate you.
I think "Make it Yours" is my favorite tip because I got so overwhelmed with all the different beautiful spreads I was seeing when I first wanted to get into bullet Journaling. #BulletJournalPlease
My bullet journal tip goes along with "make it your own." I put information that I am going to need to reference again and again, such as a phone number I don't want in my phone, a list of jobs I've done as a contractor with dates (for taxes), or other a book list for professional development. I'm not as good about micro-logging an index in the front, so that makes it easier flip through just a few pages in the back instead of the larger number and variety of pages in the front. I really appreciate the master task list because I am always hoping to get more done. I also do use Google calendar on my phone for appointments so I can get the reminders. This has become even more important while working from home during the pandemic!! I'm a fan of both you and Amy, and it's so cool to see you work on a collab! :) #bulletjournalplease
Here is my tip: Instead of making many different lists for work tasks versus home tasks, birthdays, memories, etc... I use a different symbol and/or color so that the different tasks stand out. For example, for birthdays I use a balloon symbol, for work tasks I use a square instead of a dot. For memories I use a triangle. #bulletjournalplease
I'm in love with your color coordinated bookshelf😍! I dont have a top tip because I havent started yet lol. But my fav of yours was def the habit tracking and not trying to overcomplicate it when you're a beginner! Thanks for the tips! #bulletjournalplease
I've watched both you and Amy for a couple years. I started bullet journaling in 2018. Originally it was too artsy and time consuming, but when I went more minimal, it became more useful. My tip is to color-code your notes. In mine, for example, all personal tasks and appointments are purple, all health & fitness are red, business is green, family/friends/home is blue, and volunteer/church/community is black. It adds a touch of color, but more so it let's me quickly see when my life is or isn't in balance, and let's me find notes much faster. #bulletjournalplease
Thank you for all these lovely tips! I'm new to bullet journaling and my layout is quite simple. My top tip is to journal the night before and write in what you are grateful for, what you have accomplished, and what you look forward to. These three sections motivate me each new day to be thoughtful about my emotions and actions throughout the day. #bulletjournalplease
#BulletJournalPlease My top tip for the bullet journal is: reflect. Just reflect after every week month or quarter and see what you've achieved/accomplished. It is so uplifting and gives you even more motivation to just keep going. 😊
I’ve been a subscriber to both your and Amy’s channels for awhile, so it’s lovely to see you guys collab! My tip is to only put in your journal what works for you! My bujo is more of a notes catch-all, since I have a separate planner. Know that bullet journaling looks different for everyone-that’s the beauty of it! #bulletjournalplease
Been bullet journaling since 2017 and I am *finally* learning that I like to balance digital and analog together. It's okay to have your appointments down in Google Calendar AND like to write them in your weekly spread. It's honestly made me so much more productive! #bulletjournalplease
#bulletjournalplease My favorite tip is making bullet journal mine. There is a lot of pressure when you search Instagram, Pinterest and Facebook for bujo aesthetic. I may add color depending on how I feel but mostly simply jotting things down is my forte. Knowing that that's just fine is refreshing. Thanks for the videos, Matt and Amy.
Treat it like a giant experiment. Have checkboxes at the bottom of spreads where you mark whether you'll use this spread again or not. It's a flexible system so don't get caught up in what it "should" be or why "this method" of tracking either doesn't work for you or no longer works for you. You will change and so will your needs, so let it be your sandbox for productivity.
I just discovered your channel and love how minimal your videos are and all the info you give! When I saw you were doing a collaboration with Amy, I was super stoked! Thanks for sharing your tips! My favorite note taking is "spread it out" on the paper. Don't let the space confine you. ❤️ #bulletjournalplease
Great tips! My favorite tip is #5: make it yours. I was initially attracted to bullet journaling because the journal is completely flexible. I can finally have a planner that fits my unique needs, with no random pre-printed pages that never get used. And I can change my bujo as my needs change. Another tip: think outside the box. I play D&D and figured out a spell cheat sheet layout that is super helpful in combat situations. A bujo can be used for all sorts of purposes beyond just planning and goal tracking. #bulletjournalplease
I follow both you and Amy - my two favorites coming together is so amazing! I love a simple planner. I use a Full Focus Planner and use bullet journal as my task master. I like the FFP bc it has a lot of these things built in already - habit tracker, goals tracker, etc. but then I also enjoy the free flow of keeping my tasks in a bullet journal. I still keep it very minimal and simplistic. #bulletjournalplease
I've watched Amy for a long time and I'm looking forward to watching more of your videos. I'm on my 4th bullet journal. I don't do weekly or monthly spreads but rather, just dedicate a page a day to my tasks. I have several categories I divide them into - Health, Home, Work, Self Care. I include dinner plans and a place for a daily gratitude at the bottom. #bulletjournalplease
Here after watching Amy's 5 tips. I like the tip on having a master to-do list. I actually started doing this a while ago and it is so helpful. I end up getting more done. Thanks for sharing!
I definitely think that the habit tracker is something that is super important for the bullet journal that is really a game changer. I used the habit tracker last year for several months and then I stopped, thinking that now that I had the habits developed, but soon after I once again stopped using habits I had spent months developing. I finally restarted using the habit tracker at the start of the summer and I am amazed at the difference. Thanks for the tips! #bulletjournalplease
Just do it! Write something every single day even if it’s simply “I don’t feel like writing today”. Keep the habit!! It’s magical when consistent! #bulletjournalplease
Happy to see you for the first time. Glad y'all are doing this. Your tip on going one week at a time is CHOICE. Too many times I got ahead of myself and wasted pages on weeks that have no notes. #bulletjournalplease
#bulletjournalplease My top bujo tip (mostly for myself) is to keep it simple to avoid the overwhelm. When i first discovered this method years ago i bought fancy pens, stickers, paper clips, stamps etc and got discouraged when i remembered I'm no artist. I lost sight of all the ways my bujo can help me because i was obsessed with making it post worthy. Keeping it simple allows me to actually use it to be more productive and proactive in my life. I also have an addiction to notebooks😁
Loved your time tracker video (from a while back)! #bulletjournalplease My bullet journal tip is allow yourself even just five minutes to journal. I’d feel guilty at times feeling like I needed to spend that time on other things. Five minutes. Go! It’s worth it!
My top bullet journal tip is: Don’t be afraid to change it up! I’ve found my needs have changed (sometimes quite drastically) and stuff that works one month might not work the next month. It can look a bit of a mess, but my journal is constantly evolving to fit my needs in the moment. #BulletJournalPlease
Boom! Great collab Matt. Excited to check out Amy's video. For me, my favorite was #5 "making it for me" and not for anyone else or IG/YT/Twitter etc... Great job. #BulletJournalPlease
Making a big list of all the things that I want to get done, then boiling that down to less than 6 that I HAVE to get done helps me stay on track and avoid getting overwhelmed! #bulletjournalplease
#BulletJournalPlease. My top bullet journal tip is to make it your own. Don’t let others designs or layouts intimidate you. Make your bulletjournal in a way that works successfully for you.
Loved this collaboration! Ive followed both channels for a while now and these videos couldn't have come at a better time. You're right when you say just start small and simple. The times I've failed to keep my journal was mostly due to a) pressure to keep these ellaborate spreads that took me forever to set up and then b) made me feel guilty when I wouldn't fill them up or fill them up in what would be considered an unpretty way. Only when I figured out that I actually need my bullet journal to work for me first and then if I can make it look visually appealing that's a bonus. So that's my top tip. Too bad that now I enjoy having a minimal journal so much I don't even bother with doodles, stickers, colours and all that jazz. A black pen and eventually a ruler is all I need. I've always wanted to try a BaronFig notebook so... fingers crossed! #bulletjournalplease
What I found starting off was just using what works (simple cheap notebook, ruler, pencil and pen). That and using what symbols I use out of habit already and expanding on it. Just started doing journaling for about 2 months now and it's a lifesaver that I found Matt's channel. I recently got positioned do a lot of event management and the amount of moving parts to keep track of is a big headache. #BulletJournalPlease
Excellent information and now I’m going to watch your other videos on bullet journaling to learn more!! I’m a big fan of Amy‘s channel and I think I’m going to like yours just as much!! Too tip is keeping it minimal and simple. Thanks, Matt!! #bulletjournalplease
My favorite bullet journal tip is to block out a specific time during the day to journal. I schedule my day out about an hour before I start working. That gives me time to think about what’s on my plate for the day, review yesterday, look ahead to the rest of the week and review my goals. I do this EVERY morning at the same time. On days where I have a lot to do, I schedule in a second check in after lunch to make sure my priorities haven’t changed, or to adjust to how quickly or slowly my work is progressing. Some things just don’t take as long as I think they will or maybe I grossly underestimated how much time I would need. Rather than chalk the day up to a fail, I adjust. Then I don’t feel like a slacker or rush through my work to get it all done.
My top bullet journal tip is having a pie chart to track what you do in a day. This really gives you perspective on where your time is actually going. Loved your tips!! #bulletjournalplease !!
I'm new to this. I always had agendas but as you said, many empty days and it came to May and I had already given up. I am very excited about your tips and will give me one more change :) Notes to myself: 1. begin 2. start again as many times as needed 3. keep it simple 4. weekly reviews to keep me on track 5. set a main goal to track and the rest go with the flow #bulletjournalplease
My favorite tip is to binge watch your BJ videos. 😀Seriously, though I found you at the beginning of the year when I started using my BJ and your videos have been incredibly helpful. The biggest tip I've learned is to not try to trying to chunk out sections of my journal (kind of like your tip about not writing out a whole month). What I found was as I tried to estimate how many pages I needed for a section (e.g. for coaching notes), I was invariably short. I'm now putting notes in at the end of each week and using the index a lot more. Saves from waste which is it's own stressor! #bulletjournalplease
Tip for beginners is to use a structured journal (e.g. full focus planner) in this way you just go straight in to writing & don’t have to think about how to create your own. Once you get the feel of it, then use a blank journal and start doing it your own way. #bulletjournalplease
#bulletjournalplease I think my biggest "a-ha" moment for journalling was discovering the rolling weekly spread and creating "sections" for weekly habits, goals, and notes. It really made journaling easier and more productive. I also started to gamify it by adding "experience points" for me to track and level up. Thanks for your channel! It has been a great inspiration and resource. Also.. shout out to Nashville. lol
The one that I like is that the bullet journal is for you and for no one else. Mine is practical and minimalist because I think that when you spent a lot of time making it so artistic then comes the lack of using it as a journal where you are going to dump your thoughts. #BulletJournalPlease
My bullet journal tip is to use tabs, so that I can find important pages faster. You do great work, Matt. Bullet Journaling has changed my life. #bulletjournalplease.
I have not bullet journaled in the past but I want to start this habit!! I have watched MANY of Amy's videos in the 2 months that I have known about her and she has helped me be a lot more productive and accomplish a goal that I have not had the discipline to accomplish. I am excited to watch your videos and soak in everything that I can learn from you!! #Bulletjournalplease
I am excited to start doing this! I love my daily, weekly, monthly planner (even during 2020 😐), but a Bujo sounds more fun! Love your tips, thank you! Top Tip: Make it yours- use it however it works for you and start small and simple if that works best for you. I look forward to watching more of your videos 😊#bulletjournalplease
My tip: Keep at it. Even when I fall off, if I start again, I see progress. If I don't restart, I stay adrift. So keep starting again. #BulletJournalPlease
I'm fairly new to bullet journaling. I've been enjoying the tips so far. The tip that I've learned and appreciated the most is to make it yours! Your journal won't be in a wrong or bad format. It needs to meet your needs and no one elses. Thanks! #BulletJournalPlease
Just saw Amy's video so have come over here from her channel. I've never used bullet journaling but I'm keen to start. I really like Amy's calendar blocking which I now use which is awesome. Hopefully I can get some great tips from your channel on bullet journaling. # bulletjournalplease My favourite tip has to be a tie between habit tracker and weekly spread. Because I'm just starting with bullet journaling I think by following your tip of focusing on one habit to track to start with and to focus on a simple weekly spread I will get some quick and easy wins which will help me to stick with it. Now to go find an old journal to use to give this a go!
#bulletjournalplease Thanks Matt for these wonderful tips... specially the one recommending start small with the week planning at least and tailor specifically to you! Make it simple and in a way that works for you! That’s the best! My tip will be to set aside a specific time on Sundays to work on your weekly planing so you can know ahead what are your plans and goals for the week ahead.
My best tip (other than make it work for YOU) is to start small. I started with a Field Note, then moved to small Moleskine. I like the feel of something that will fit in my pocket or in the pocket of my backpack. #bulletjournalplease Thanks, Matt! Love the channel!
Love all of these tips! Esp making your bullet journal yours and serviceable to you, and keeping it simple in the beginning! My top tip is to not overthink it and use it however it makes sense to you, and not be afraid to change things that don’t work anymore 😊 #bulletjournalplease
I loved the tip about doing a weekly spread at a time to avoid blank pages, definitely my top pick. That’s something that’s happened with me and your right, it really is discouraging and kinda makes me not want to continue. I would love to pick back up and get into a routine with a bullet journal again! #bulletjournalplease
I've been using my bullet journal for years and my top tip - check it morning and night - checking it at night means that I don't wake up during the night with a "must do that this week" rattling around in my head! #bulletjournalplease
Thanks for a brilliant video (both of you!) I am new to this and have yet to get a proper journal, so I would love to win a notebook! My tip is to have the month at a glance with an overview of events/appointments, spending and habit trackers. I use different colours when I have completed tasks/habits. It is very simple but at a glance I can see my progress.
Thanks for your video!, great tips!. One of the ways I use my "squares journal", is writing in black what is pending for that day, and right underneath, in blue, what happened that day. In this way, I can keep a diary for memories, or in case of need, to find some past information. #bulletjournalplease
My Bullet Journal tip: Don't Compare!! I suppose that kinda goes hand in hand with "making it YOURS". But I have had to learn this tip myself....several times actually. Like Matt said, this bullet journal is for YOU - no one else! So, regardless of WHAT you use it for, HOW it looks, WHEN you use it - don't compare YOUR bullet journal to anyone else's!!! #bulletjournalplease
I love the minimal bujo designs. I do go out of my comfort zone and try some artistic changes. I do love that it is so customizable to each need you have at that time in life. Tracking my son's conditions is vital to his progress and therapy. Love her page, thanks for the linkup. #bulletjournalplease
#bulletjournalplease my tip is if your list keeps growing or certain tasks keep getting put off then consider what can be deleted. Even better focus on your top three tasks and put them in priority order. Thanks Matt! Great video! First one I've seen of yours. Off to watch Amy's now! 😀
My top bullet journal tip is to write out EVERYTHING you need to do as soon as you find out you need to do it. Bullet journals can be extremely beneficial in organizing your life and helping you stay on top of things. I have ADD so bullet journaling helps me a lot that way but it could also benefit anyone that wants to have a more productive and organized life. #bulletjournalplease
My favourite bullet journal tip I've ever gotten is to not pre-plan or pre-design entirely your layouts. You don't know what you will need or what you definitely won't until you experiment with them. Design them as you get to work with them & take notes on what to add & what to reduce obviously after establishing a solid trial timeframe. #bulletjournalplease
I think " habit tracker " is my favorite tip. It keeps you on track of those little tiny things to do every day or every week ( a given frequency ). #bulletjournalplease
Loved your top five tips! My bullet journal tip would be start with rapid logging on the daily pages. Record those random thoughts and other tasks that occurs during the day. Then you can deal with them later but they are safely tucked away until the right time. #bulletjournalplease
#BULLETJOURNALPLEASE Yaaay, so happy to have found you through Amy's channel. I'm constantly working on different ways to maintain my everyday journal. Having an additional bullet journal would be great. I like how our everyday to-do lists need to be segregated from our weekly/monthly goals. Usually I write it in the last few pages of my everyday journal to keep track of them.
My tipps: 1. Just start! 2. don‘t be afraid of „messing it up“. 3. Think about what you want to get out of it first (creativity looks different than productivity) 4. It is okay to not do it everyday but be consistent (
This week I just got started using my BuJo journal and I believe the biggest tip any new user should have is forgiving yourself if you don't write down anything for the day, week, month, etc. and continue where you left off and thank yourself that you are taking action to better your life and being productive! 😁 #bulletjournalplease
My favorite tip is definitely to keep it simple! I don't even draw lines because I found it would look messy if I made a mistake. The fewer opportunities for pen mistakes, the easier to use. #bulletjournalplease
My tip would be to leave some extra space in your weekly spreads to write about that day at the end of each day. This is a little bit like maintaining a journal, but in its most basic form. That way when you flip through your bullet journal at the end of the month or the year, you can use it as a place for quick reflection. I recently started bullet journaling on a trial basis on an extra composition notebook I had laying around (and I am loving it), and I have found I really enjoy doing this everyday. Hope this tip helps someone else! #bulletjournalplease
Thanks, Matt, love your videos! My top tips - if you have recurring meetings with other people, create separate pages for each person to track actions, projects coming out of the meeting, and other ‘waiting for’ items to discuss at the next meeting. I also use threading to track the prior and next pages of notes for each person - if your first meeting with Bob starts on page 12 and then your next meeting notes start on page 12, but continues to page 20 I note at the bottom of page 12 that my notes jump to page 20. At the top of page 20 I note page 12 where the notes began. #BulletJournalPlease
Thank you for great productivity videos. Thank you also for the #bulletjournalplease giveaway. My best bullet journal tip is to keep using identical spreads each week as long as they work for you. I heard another youtuber say that and it is so true! I've been using pretty much the same spread each week for months now and it makes it a no brainer to plan out my week. No excuse not to stick with it!
Thanks Matt for that awesome video! A tip I have after a few months of bullet journaling is to set aside a specific, uninterruptible time throughout the week dedicated to planning your week. I also find that this serves as a small win for the week, which is a great motivator for the upcoming week! #bulletjournalplease
Use collections when appropriate. I have had the bad habit of dumping all the tasks for a new idea on a daily and then getting demotivated. Even if you think a collection is silly, if you have any intention of executing those ideas, put them in a collection and tick one or two items off whenever you have the time. Stress free productivity 😊 #bulletjournalplease
I loved all of the tips from you and Amy. I have a blank bullet journal that I need to get started. I really liked that you emphasized that it doesn't need to be "artsy." Those layouts are beautiful but impractical for me. #bulletjournalplease
My tip is to be flexible. I never do my days ahead of time because each day is different. Some days are packed and need a tight schedule, others I might just focus on one huge task. Some of my days are half a page long, others are five or more pages. The days don’t have to be consistent, but using the journal can be. #BulletJournalPlease!
I'm always looking for new ideas on how to track my goals, so these are some great tips, Matt! I came from Amy's channel and subscribed. Can't wait to see more. 😌
Journaling has gotten me through some really rough parts in my life. It has also helped me maintain a 4.0 gpa at school. My number one tip to anyone who is starting or currently journaling is to change up your system when you get in a rut. I’ve tried tracking my every hour to a master list, and I finally figured out what works for me (for now). I’m almost finished with my current bullet journal and I would love #bulletjournalplease
My best tip is to find a size and style of bullet journal that you love. My first one was pretty, but way too big (like 8.5x11) and it wasn't easy to carry around. I know many people love that size, so it really is a personal decision. Still on the search for the ideal journal. #bulletjournalplease
#bulletjournalplease thanks amy for introducing us to another awesome creator. My bullet journal tip: Use your bulletjournal as a creative outlet. Although my lined journal is not really effective at this point, i found the creative side very calming and relaxing. You feel much more in control when you design your own planner than having to conform to a set corporate page-a-day view!
This is great! Makes me want to bullet journal again. #bulletjournalplease My top tip for bullet journaling is to find a good one that won't smear so you can write quickly.
I love the bujo method! I started with habit tracking first and I realized i had been lugging around 3 or 4 notebooks and this helped me put everything in one and in an organized way! #bulletjournalplease
First, I’d like to say that I love the simplistic way you do your bullet journal. I like using colors but I’m not an artistic person, so your method is what I’ve been looking for. I’m quite new at planning and bullet journaling, so by now my favorites methods or top tips are planning by weeks and daily. First, I have a general view of my weeks goals, and then I make some daily arrangements. #BulletJournalPlease
#bulletjournalplease I have taken ideas from everywhere, but the best advice is to not worry what it looks like. It has to be functional for you. Make it yours and you will use it.
Great tips to get started on bullet journaling. I use my bullet journal to track my habits of drinking water and meditation- this really helps you stay motivated and on track to reaching your goals. Even if I miss tracking or recording for a day, I keep at it for the rest of the days. I set weekly or biweekly goals for myself to build the habit of using bullet journal and using it to get the life I want. #bulletjournalplease
My biggest tip is to try out a whole bunch of different ideas in your BuJo and play with it. Most people get frustrated and quit instead of asking themselves "What do *I* need out of this?" (Similar to what you said in point #5). I've kept up the habit for over a year simply because I've allowed it to evolve and grow as I need different things. I couldn't imagine life without bullet journaling now! #BulletJournalPlease
I started using the bullet journal technique thanks to Amytv videos and since then this has been life changing for me!!! Thank you guys for sharing your wisdom!!! #bulletjournalplease
#bulletjournalplease. My best tip, just start! Sometimes I restart several times a year. Usually with a new notebook. I am restarting this week and going to try one line a day journaling with the daily log and the 30 day prompts from Matt!
#bulletjournalplease my tip is structured chaos. Don’t get caught up in the layout. If set up make you dread bujo, simplify. Make it your own and stay consistent.
I implemented a daily work log and it really helped me organize my tasks and be more productive at work! And drawing on what you said about the master list, I found the right spread for me in which I have my weekly master list on the bottom of the page and I can always look at it during the week and allocate tasks on different days! #bulletjournalplease
What a great video! So much good stuff. ❤️ My top bullet journal tip: to have no judgement. To know it doesn't have to be perfect and to have the opportunity to just pick up where I left off and keep taking action steps to move forward without judgement of how I could have made my bujo more "perfect" #bulletjournalplease
Yay! SO excited to be doing this together, Matt! Bullet Journal Lifers!
Hello Matt and Amy. I just watched both of the productivity videos of you both. I would love to have my hands on one of those bullet journals for my first time ever. Thanks for the great advice and helpful tips.
Loved the tips...🤩 awesome collaboration:-)
First time watching Amy’s videos thank you for that recommendation 🥰
Note to Self :P (5 Tips by Matt):
1. Start with a Daily Log of what you need to do that day. Start Simple
2. Keep a Master Task for every single week
3. Track a personal habit that you want to see progress on or improve every single day/week/month
4. Beginner Specific: Start with Weekly Spreads first
5. Make the Bullet Journal (BuJO) yours! Keep it minimal, simplistic and structured.
😎👍👍💖 good break down..
need some time stamps in this...aww never mind..I got it.
That sounds great! Can you post a picture of that?
Great idea!
So glad I found your channel. So
For now I just grabbed a notebook I started this year and this will be my BJ until I can get a new one #lockdown .
I never have a set weekly spread I just daily log so I'm not faced with loads of unused space when I miss a day. #bulletjournalplease
#bulletjournalplease
Here is my tip: Instead of making many different lists for work tasks versus home tasks, birthdays, memories, etc... I use a different symbol and/or color so that the different tasks stand out. For example, for birthdays I use a balloon symbol, for work tasks I use a square instead of a dot. For memories I use a triangle. #bulletjournalplease
I agree with not worrying about having a pretty journal. Mines about as boring and functional as you could imagine.
#BulletJournalPlease
My top tip for the bullet journal is: reflect.
#bulletjournalplease
My favorite tip is making bullet journal mine. There is a lot of pressure when you search Instagram, Pinterest and Facebook for bujo aesthetic. I may add color depending on how I feel but mostly simply jotting things down is my forte. Knowing that that's just fine is refreshing. Thanks for the videos, Matt and Amy.
What's your favorite planning and bullet journal tip?
Matt Ragland Always start my day writing 2 things I’m grateful for that day🤍
Just use it. Don’t try to make it pretty. Don’t worry about messing it up.
Keeping it simple and functional. I like the flexibility of adapting bullet journaling to what you need from it. There's not one right way to do it.
#bulletjournalplease
#bulletjournalplease
My top bujo tip (mostly for myself) is to keep it simple to avoid the overwhelm.
Going for the give-away - Loving the bullet journal, and happy to learn about Matt's channel.
I am very excited about your tips and will give me one more change :)
Notes to myself:
1. begin
2. start again as many times as needed
3. keep it simple
4. weekly reviews to keep me on track
5. set a main goal to track and the rest go with the flow
#bulletjournalplease
#bulletjournalplease
I think my biggest "a-ha" moment for journalling was discovering the rolling weekly spread and creating "sections" for weekly habits, goals, and notes.
I've been using a bullet journal for 3 years. I love that you can customize it to your life. #bulletjournalplease
Great tips! I always love finding another functional planner! 🙌
Just saw Amy's video so have come over here from her channel. I've never used bullet journaling but I'm keen to start. I really like Amy's calendar blocking which I now use which is awesome. Hopefully I can get some great tips from your channel on bullet journaling.
# bulletjournalplease
My favourite tip has to be a tie between habit tracker and weekly spread. Because I'm just starting with bullet journaling I think by following your tip of focusing on one habit to track to start with and to focus on a simple weekly spread I will get some quick and easy wins which will help me to stick with it.
Now to go find an old journal to use to give this a go!
I really need to try a bullet journal- I love to be organized, but haven't ever tried one. Can't wait to watch your videos for more tips.
#bulletjournalplease
Thanks Matt for these wonderful tips... specially the one recommending start small with the week planning at least and tailor specifically to you!
Well said Celia! Thanks for watching!
I love the minimal bujo designs. I do go out of my comfort zone and try some artistic changes. I do love that it is so customizable to each need you have at that time in life. Tracking my son's conditions is vital to his progress and therapy. Love her page, thanks for the linkup. #bulletjournalplease
Letting your journal evolve as you see what works and what doesn’t for you personally. Each week can look a bit different and that’s ok😊
#BULLETJOURNALPLEASE
Yaaay, so happy to have found you through Amy's channel. I'm constantly working on different ways to maintain my everyday journal. Having an additional bullet journal would be great. I like how our everyday to-do lists need to be segregated from our weekly/monthly goals. Usually I write it in the last few pages of my everyday journal to keep track of them.
My tipps:
1. Just start!
2. don‘t be afraid of „messing it up“.
3. Think about what you want to get out of it first (creativity looks different than productivity)
Really liked your tip #3! I like my bullet journal and definitely keep it simple but effective.
I loved all of the tips from you and Amy. I have a blank bullet journal that I need to get started. I really liked that you emphasized that it doesn't need to be "artsy." Those layouts are beautiful but impractical for me. #bulletjournalplease
Woo hoo! I was already subscribed to you both! And I have been wanting to try the baron figg journals. 😊
My bullet journal tip:
Use your bulletjournal as a creative outlet. Although my lined journal is not really effective at this point, i found the creative side very calming and relaxing. You feel much more in control when you design your own planner than having to conform to a set corporate page-a-day view!
This is great! Makes me want to bullet journal again. #bulletjournalplease
My top tip for bullet journaling is to find a good one that won't smear so you can write quickly.
Love that I found your Channel through Amy 😍😍😍
Came from Amy's channel, but definitely gonna stay and check out your other videos.
My top bullet journal tip: to have no judgement. To know it doesn't have to be perfect and to have the opportunity to just pick up where I left off and keep taking action steps to move forward without judgement of how I could have made my bujo more "perfect" #bulletjournalplease
