That amd he says it's against Gilgamesh's character. The guy who wants to see Saber flourish the most is Gil. He just also wants to... Own her. Kinda. He's too prideful to let anything getting in his way of her go unpunished, and Caster and Berserker both do that.

Code Geass was what got me into Anime, Lelouch drew the entire worlds hatred and ire onto himself, he understood humans better than most "hero's" do and understood to truly unite humanity they needed a common enemy to work against, the final scene where he says "he destroys worlds, he creates worlds" sometimes you gotta break something to remake it
That Fire Force entry was peak.
Also, is Joker a villain? Because him and Benimaru really did wreck house...

Don't know all of these series, but for the ones I do, some I'd question if it really applies....
Viral's role as a Villain was already over by the time of his team up, he had just spent years in prison and really didn't care less anymore since the Beastmen had already lost. He's more a negative neutral strong armed into helping the good guys as a whole, rather than a Hero/Villain team up.
Also wouldn't count Gilgamesh, the war was literally suspended by the Church, all Six Servants were obliged to hunt Caster down. Even then, Gilgamesh actually did nothing against the actual threat, he spent the start of it watching for his amusement, then ended up stuck in an off the side dogfight with Berserker. He didn't even fight the same enemy as Saber, he was fighting Berserker alone.

Honorable mentions go to Dazai and Chuuya vs Lovecraft (BSD), and All the heroes plus Stain and Gentle Criminal VS the villains in MHA (currently unreleased in Anime form, but it happens in the manga)
Obito & kakashis team up hits you differently 💔
You missed out Katekyo Hitman Reborn team up. Tsuna’s Guardians teams up with VARIA and the Kokuyo gang to fight the Six Funeral Wraths
I don't think that really counts considering their all Vongola technically...

There is nothing more hype than the mc and one of the early villains teaming up to defeat this pure evil or something like that character. For me it will always be one of the most hype things in anime. It's just so cool and satisfying to watch.
I think it all comes down to the fact that bungee gum has the properties of both rubber and gum.
I can only currently think of two anime that had a dodgeball episode and both were pretty epic. Hunter X Hunter and Welcome To Demon School Iruma-Kun!

I think there is no more legendary team up than Vegito, of course! I think people forget that while Vegeta went "soft" long before this, it's actually the first time they fight *together*. And literally! This is like, the progenitor of Hero-Villain team ups. I mean, DB/Z is *really* big on that. Most of Goku's friends were previously his enemy.
You'll have to update the list when Thousand Year Blood War ends though :)
