This song got me into the black angels, it's still my favourite, disappointed they didn't do it on the latest tour but glad I went to see them perform.
One of the best shows I've seen @ the Turf in St. Paul a few years ago (2nd only to any Black-Eyed Snakes show) The best thing about this band, that you don't get to see here, is every band member can play every instrument on stage. The ol' switch-a-roo. Fun to see. Also, their visual projection crew has got it down.
yessir, its off the Phosphene Dream album 2010. Killer album. All of their albums are spot on in this psychedelic vein. if you need help locating it lemme know and i will get it to you
how awesome is you just standing on your home when you hear some music, then you go to the window and there it is, BLACK ANGELS PLAYING ON A ROOF HOLY SHIT!
I don't think he would draw many comparisons to, Mr. Jim Morrison, because of his higher voice, but his cadence and style are very similar. Still good though.
I got into this band from the game Spec Ops: The Line. The First Vietnamese War starts playing over these loud speakers as you're thrown into a firefight you don't understand what started it. Chaos, bullets wizzing past overhead, explosions, and that badass riff coming in harder than it all. I was hooked. Freaked out when Young Men Dead closed out the first episode of True Detective too. They're so legit.
I honestly thought the first time I heard the Black Angels that amazing voice belonged to a woman. What an astoundingly beautiful set of lungs! So unusual, and made even more gorgeous for the fact.
@az0r22 I just listened to them for the 1st time on NPR's Tiny Desk Concert and was very impressed. They went acoustic in those tiny offices at NPR and the sound they put out was not like anyone I had EVER heard do acoustically! Amazing! As I was listening I did hear the old familiar psychedelic rock sound that reminded me of The Doors; I grew up w/ that music; BUT not once did I think they were ripping them off. I thought The BA had their own current and unique progressive psych rock sound.
How can one band, be so fucking overlooked? If I had just robbed a bank, shotgunned an entire case of Bud, and escaped in my 1968 supercharged hot rod with my big breasted leather clad vixen, having a shoot out with the 'filthy coppers'...this band..would be playing in the background lol
A Yank Abroad if I’d just stole a pint of milk which was delivered by the the milk man wearing nothing but a Celtic Track suit with a pair of snowboarding goggles and a potato gun shouting hail hail the queens in jail with the mi5 on my tail, this would be the background song. From Scotland with pure nonsense
I dig these guys a lot. just got turned on to them. I hear Jim, & VU, but also hear early PF & Syd Barrett here as well. very cool indeed. come to Chicago!
The Black Angels, or the band with the best sunglasses collection ever.
Thanks to SpecOps The Line, I've discovered this amazing band !
brilliant game! brilliant band!
the most underrated band in the cosmos!
not as underrated as king gizzard and the lizard wizard !!
@@paleface4804 not anymore
🖤
It's not about the voice, it's about the style of his voice, the spirit of his singing that makes him like Morrison...
This is a great band that plays a spooky smooth psychedelica. And by the way, at 64 I'm no hipster.
I have seen thses guys live and they do not rip anyone off. It is refreshing for a new band to go back to 60 psychedelic roots. These guys rock!!
Shit!!!!!! What a song!!!!!! Psychedelic!!!!!!
You don't choose psychedelic. Psychedelic chooses you.
Love this psychedelic music too. What a band !!
no words to describe how good this is...
What a voice! Killer band, sound, music. Hooray!
After long seven years, finally im going to see The Black Angels live this September. So, so, so happy!
How was it?
NoahDavidFrancis i was lucky. Saw them doing the sound check and then the gig. Absolutely amazing
What a freakin rock n roll voice this guy has!
The influences are obvious but it shouldn't take away from the fact that they're an awesome band and this is an absolute tune.
They sound really good.
holy shit. totally blown away by this band. exactly what i've been looking for. just bought phosphene dream on eBay.
Ahhhhh, the most soothing voices. Melt my heart.
not gonna lie, I have no clue what the lyrics even mean as a whole but it kicks hard when it play, especially with spec ops the line
@karlmorris-xz6iq STOP SPAMMING YOUR MID ASS BAND.
Just wanted to tell, you guys were the best soundtrack Spec Ops could wish for. This song just goes so well with the "Blood on the sand" theme.
this band is defiantly the child of the doors and the velvet underground
This song got me into the black angels, it's still my favourite, disappointed they didn't do it on the latest tour but glad I went to see them perform.

Thanks guys when we going to expose the pandemic?
His voice turns me crazy! Amazing!
Me too! Stumbled on to them a few months back. Great stuff.
this is a great band. reminds me of the great music that came out in the 60s.
I need more of this 🖤
These guys grab me as the Doors did, something about the lyrics that ring as Morrison's poetic mind...Then the Music flows with the Lyrics very nice..
i truly enjoy this band.
Epic beyond words
it's bizarre to hear something this good without an explosion of clapping at the end.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
THIS IS FUCKING ART PEOPLE LISTEN TO SOME GOOD FUCKING MUSIC!!!!!!!!
Saw these cats open for Blue Cheer years ago. My mind was bent after that night.
The drummer is just awesome, listen to snake in the grass or science killer, she destroys

I have to admit, I have a girl crush on her - she is so fantastic!
What's the problem here. They don't play music like this anymore and this is pretty good. I'm enjoying this

You've gotta love a good, creative, cool band with a lefty guitar player! : )
his tonal frequency may be a bit higher but his lyrical and melodic style are very much Jim.
