The names of the performers are: Stephanie Baily - Percussion Christian Bland - Guitar (On the left) Alex Maas - Vocals/percussion Kyle Hunt - Harmonium Nate Ryan - Guitar (on the right in the sunglasses)
The Black Angles is the only band that I truly love all and every aspects of their music. Truly masterful performances from all sides, absolutely amazing.
Why do I get recommendations for the same videos over and over when this GEM is hidden in the Archives of NPR TDC?? Lovely surprise... like finding money in an old birthday card.
Good job.. since they are all hungover (hard) They probably taped at 6:30am Not judging... just been there. Glad they are around, part of the reason I live in Austin now. It took a bit for them to catch. Feel like they are running away from it now. Wish 'em the best. Hope they can work it out.
764amc. Dont worry buddy. You grow up one day and realize. Music is whatever you want it to be. Thats the beauty of it. Stop analyzing everyone. And enjoy it
mike cayer true, who cares if he's influenced by Jim Morrison, or who ever, thanks for saying what I was thinking here too. It's just amazing, and the dream is all up to you and me. Have a great day. Love from Norway 🙈🙉🙊
He was unhappy about touring and was clearly over it. His playing lack the passion and it took a toll on the other members. If you ever seen them live all players except the drummer plays different instruments.
Anyone have any idea what kinda of guitar Christian Bland is playing in this video on the first track? I'd love to get me one, or one similar... the hollow body w/ trapeze bridge and neck pickup would be perfect for slide guitar drenched in reverb...
That appears to be a Kay or a Harmony or a Vega or a National archtop guitar from the early sixties or mid 50's. Time saving tip: Buy them in person! They are notoriously shit kicked beyond playability on ebay and it's hard to get one that can be repaired unless you know the seller or know what you're looking at. Take a road trip to Nashville and bring about 700 bucks. Happy trails...
That was a little weird taking the guitar away from the guitarist and making him just sit there but who know's maybe he could not handle the cord progression :-D otherwise liked the sound now bring on the free love LOL.
You don't even know what's going on there. He usually plays bass, first off. Secondly, "Too Much Hate" is a solo song Alex normally plays at their shows, without any band members. So do some research before you jump to stupid ass conclusions.
+Dogma427 seeing your comment before watching the thing i thought that your'e saying that there was lots of hate going in their albums :P I haven't seen the song on any of the albums..
doors ans te velvet underground more i think mrgungho, but then again a lot of riffs taken from an already well unknown band the black keys. but with more a flourescent light bulb feel atmosphere too them
Bring them back!!
I can't stop falling in love with their music, they are just amazing!
you said it woman, they are coming to my Argentina and I can't believe I'm gonna be in front of them yet ♥

get out of my head
How did I only discover this band a few months ago? How sheltered of a life do I lead. Now they are all I listen to. So obsessed.
same thing happened to me this year!
this band is certainly one of my favourites. I saw them 3 times in France, and always the strongest feelings on their performance i ever lived.
this band is fantastic and the singer has such a great voice, very haunting and beautiful.
I used to love these guys. I still do, but I used to, too.
years later coming back way too frequently! please bring them back!
the guitarist looks like a complete badass
Yup, I agree! Folky Doors
GREAT music. GREAT band !!! Thank You Angels...
This music would go so well with No Country For Old Men
Wow, you're right! I love this band.
These guys are the new Doors!
They did a tiny desk before it was cool - only the black angels
I'm in love with this band
The can pull it off surprisingly! Go angels!
2019 still sounds like '69
I wish they toured more often....... COME BACK TO PHILLY!
Best band for a long, long time
what a voice -awesome
i still dig this
Man they're absolutely insane
Stellar group!
Amazing sounds... Love 'em
Loving this group
Genius! So glad i saw them in Berlin!
Good job.. since they are all hungover (hard)

I LOVE them.
O verdadeiro rock. Brasil
this is badass
Hauntingly awesome. I feel like I should be walking down a dusty bombed out road with just a gun on my shoulder and my dog at my heels.
I want to see them one day
wow! I'm def a new fan, brilliant work!
This is so good 👍
Thank for sharing ✨
how am i so late to this party?
needs to be re-released, please NPR.
Caught myself growing with happiness
they are like a happy upbeat version of david lynch's music
I'm hearing a stripped back Creedence.
the first verse just destroyed the possibility of a 'dislike'

Love from Norway 🙈🙉🙊
look up the word "contraption" and you'll see a picture of the thing that guy on the right is playing.
so great!
Sounds like The Black Angels to me. Bummer about losing the drone.
fantastic!
How cool
Excellent!!!!!
Awesome song. However, notice the acoustic version of Bad Vibrations is basically the desert them music to Super Mario Brothers 3 ...win-win
10:33 .. He takes the guitar off the guitarist so he can sing and play guitar. That's just rude. The guy is left hanging.
and Nate left them.
MrZacharyMaul
Is there a special reason Nate left the band then? I still haven't found any further information yet...
He was unhappy about touring and was clearly over it. His playing lack the passion and it took a toll on the other members. If you ever seen them live all players except the drummer plays different instruments.
He didn't leave but was kicked out of the band.
You've never been in a band. The lead singer is always a twat. Lol
( And I'm certain the band had good reason to agree)
With a some Bad Company and a touch of CCR.
Yep, CCR.
Bravoooooooo!!!!!!
Brilliant
So amazing, Alex's Too Much Hate nails the world problems in one song.
Not to mention Stephanie looks insanely cute and hot in this one.
love
You got me with Bad Company!!!
TRES Heavy!!!

If the mammas and the pappas ever were possessed by david lyncha dreams here u go..... its fantastic
🖤🖤🖤
Thumbs up if you thought Hyde from that 70's show was on Guitar :P
nice! god job!
I like it better when a band doesn't blast their music so loud that you can't hear the dynamics.
Totally agree
Sounds like a mix between The Doors and 16 Horsepower.
My favourite band
Only found thanks to GTA5
DAMN
Beards, they kick ass.
❤
Bobbie Gentry at all?

This is slowly becoming weird and epic, before my very ears. Impressive is not strong enough
I accidentally pushed dislike, not to worry though it's just these damn smartphones. Great band and radio station.
Hey. Hi. I love you.
did too much hate even go on an album?
+Dogma427 seeing your comment before watching the thing i thought that your'e saying that there was lots of hate going in their albums :P
I haven't seen the song on any of the albums..
+Cool Fish haha but thanks man
