i was not expecting this series to be as good as it's starting out to be and I love that Percy is a kid. Him flossing in the forest and petting animals is perfect for his character. Kids in shows are always so damn grown that watching this ADHD kid is refreshing.
In the scene of the forge, those were the kids of the god Hephaestus. This god is the god of fire, forges and weapons. He is also kind of physically ugly god, because his mother threw him off Olympus when he was just a baby. His kids in the books are described as very muscular but no quite good looking due to work in his forge in their cabin.
Annabeth is like "hold on let me grab my purse" I started laughing sldhksdhdmd
you know i never really thought about how often these Gods would actually have to be fuckin mortals to have this many kids like 😭😭😭 do they do anything else?

@@ManicMeeksfunny thing is in the books they got way more kids ESPECIALLY the unclaimed ones sharing the Hermes cabin. I get why they didn’t have that many kids in the show cause the number of child actors would be wild 😂😂😂
To be fair, the Gods can split their essence into hundreds of fragments and have each inhabitant an avatar of themselves that can act independently of one another.
Luke's friends are with him are just basically guidance to show Percy around the camp I don't find it weird cuz just like Clarisse's friends in Ares cabin so yeah Chris is one of Luke's closest cabin mates so he is basically a way to show Percy around camp and also Luke is also a very beloved character in the series.
Also, Luke is the cabin leader of Hermes, so it's his job to guide the others

So Zeus basically says that it was Percy who stole the master bolt (literally knew he was a demigod for two days), Hades has Percy's mom with him, and Poseidon claims him and says he goes on a quest XD these brothers smh

I don't know why but I find reactors who haven't read the books nor the movies are the most entertaining to watch. I love it when people discover the wonder of the percy jackson universe for the first time.

I think you asked (sorry if I misunderstood and you already knew.) The being that took Grover to the council meeting is a nymph. Wood nymphs are called dryads and water nymphs are called naiads. There are other kinds of nymphs, but I can't remember their names at the mo'.
I use a telescoping backscratcher like yours, so I grin like an idiot when you gesticulate with it like it's a magic wand.. because it is. I think you and I might have the same kind of skin where nerve endings prickle all over the place, all of the time.

I read Rick Riordan late in life late 20s - early 30s, so I understand. I still go back and play the audiobooks at work every now and then. I'm excited to see your reactions to this show, and I can't wait to watch the full watch along on Patreon.
Zeus has an actual lighting bolt but you’re right about the gods fighting over people. Dionysus is at camp as punishment from Zeus for going after a nymph he wanted 🤣.
Why are you so sus of Luke? He's just trying to be nice and show Percy around camp like a good older kid/ camp counselor is supposed to do. He's head counselor of the Hermes cabin. I find it amusing how you'll See Clarisse bully Percy and be like "I like this girl," and then go," Im not trusting Luke" when the boy has done nothing but show percy that he's not alone in this. But also your reactions are super freaking funny. I love your sense of humor and its nice to see someone going into this series completely blind. I also have experienced super paternal instincts towards these literal children. someone help them.

Camp Half-blood gets a lot more time in the books, but got the episode the cram it all into one episode so they can get the characters started on the quest, which is when most of the cool stuff happens.
I can't give any more opinions without getting into book spoilers.
Btw, the books are fun, but they do skew young. So if that's not your jam, don't force it.
I just had a realization: Zeus is the father of a bunch of gods including Athena. Poseidon is Zeus' brother and Percy is Poseidon's son, so Percy is Athena's cousin. If Annabeth is Athena's daughter, then Percy and Annabeth are 1st cousins once removed...
Basically in the actual Percy Jackson books they do address that, familial relationships don't count for anything unless it's your actual parent so there aren't really cousins or aunts/uncles. And in Greek Mythology it's pretty much the same.
yeah they kinda address this n just say that gods dont have dna so theyre not related like that 😭

All these kids got a dead beat parent who at best might show up to tell them “hey I need you to do me a solid” (the lucky ones can at least say “my godly parent actually claimed me for tax purposes” & that’s it). Where is the child welfare ppl at? 😂😂😂

I read the first book a longggg way back when I was a wee teenager maself, so it's been a minute. and even an hours since I saw the first two movies. And lemme tell u I had the same reaction as you when luke came about...said the same thing too...no trust!
Now how on Earth are you going to hate on Luke who is doing his utmost to show Percy around camp and make him feel at home, but then forgive the daughter of Aries who is literally beating on his ass in every scene she's in? That's crazy. 😂

Just don't think their relationship as sibling but friends and closer than the family they ever had.

These kids books, there is less picking on Percy (more taunting that you kind of laugh at or kind of trying poorly to get him to side with them, which is what the dream voice is technically trying to do, he is the big bad for the whole series, you can kind of guess who he is if you know Greek mythology) The dreams might be a unique feature of the show or they just didn't make the impact that they are in the show. But the big bad needs some help and the help he has isn't enough, he needs one of the forbidden and at this point in the story, Percy is it. I am not sure of other characters later in the series, but there is a character who is popular but I kept forgetting about
Percy has dreams in the books but they're very different and more symbolic.

Walker who plays Percy is 14 playing 12 don't know about the other main characters.
he was 13 when he played 12. NOW he's 14. Aryan was 15-16 playing 24. Now he's 17. Not sure bout Leah

his defining trait is his sass and his humor. so is Walker's. physical traits are only mentioned in books to give clues to the readers to help imagine them better. you dont need that in a visual medium

@@lilbrownbear yea you dp lol physical descriptions are very important, one of the main killers of books to live action films is improper character looks. Any adaptation that doesn't match isn't good, harry Potter and hunger games both got this down to a T. Children of the sea (poseidon) in this world had black hair and sea green eyes, this mf has neither and its kind of lame they half assed it like they did. It also set him apart from the other characters in the show who were mainly brunette and blonde.
