I love that you have Annabeth talking about the construction of the gateway arch because, in the books, Annabeth is obsessed with architecture
Annabeth was the only one carrying a bag in the temple, she probably has the cash on her 24/7. We saw her buying snacks in earlier episodes. Athena really said go ahead and unalive my kid for no valid reason while deadbeat Poseidon came through. They made a point of showing them step in water on their way to the temple, the fountain, etc. so Poseidon must have been watching over them. And he must have been watching Percy all his life, also in that flashback in the pool for him to repeat the "just breathe".
There is something about baby Percy that makes the full mama bear pop thee hell out.

He doesn't need an ocean, if he'd just had a little cut of something the fountain would have worked. The Chimera poison was just really strong so he had to be fully submerged in water for him to heal.
No big secret about Nereids - they're nymphs of the sea, as Naiads are nymphs of fresh water and Dryads are nymphs of plants.
One of my favorite BTS tidbits about this episode is the fact that because the studio lights and stuff typically wash out Walker (percy's actor), they would have to tan him up so he doesnt basically glow on camera, but for this episode as the poison progressed, they put less and less makeup on him (which you can tell because you can start seeing his freckles lmao) and the final scene on top of the arch fighting the chimera, the only makeup he has on is redness around his eyes to make him look more sickly.
And again-- loved your reaction! I love how enthusiastic you are about this show without knowing any previous pjo stuff. its so fun to watch.
I saw that interview after I watched the episode! Gimme a good story with interesting, fun, lovable characters and I'm all the way in!
In addition to the red makeup around his eyes they also have put concealer or foundation on his lips. Because his lips are extremely pale as well. But yeah they didn't put any on the rest of his face.
Lots of folks made Harry Potter comparisons but for me this series was my American Gods. The way Riordan inserted the gods into contemporary American culture and folklore feels very Neil Gaiman in the best way

I have been in love with Percy jackson since 2007 and while I knew the show was going to be amazing it is BEYOND my wildest dreams with how it has been adapted. Every change makes sense/ enhances the story and characterization. I am so so so excited for you to experience the rest of the story and for book readers to also experience!

regarding the ep 3 recap, its worth noting that the TV version is still a little ambiguous on whether medusa considers her experience w poseidon to be love, she just said he told her than he loved her and she was vulnerable to it at the time.
Yeah, in addition to specifically saying that he told her he loved her ...she later on calls him a monster. That both her and Percy's mother were "tricked" by him. So yeah I definitely don't think that she was trying to imply that Poseidon and her(Medusa) were in love...

I don't remember if you've watched the movies (i'm sorry if you already mentioned that) and it's just fun for non-readers to pick up on their chemistry. Anyway, I don't want to spoil you anything specific but I assure you they will be older when their relationship finally take off. 😌 But that's a very valid concern.

@@ManicMeeks yea… I understand. I read the books years ago when the movies came out. I didn’t have time to read this go around so I listened to the audiobooks. I wanted to refresh my mind before the show started and I am loving this adaptation.I don’t get the negativity some people express at all.

I too am concerned about their stuff because Percy 's backpack is a bit of a major plot device and like there is a scene in the trailer where they are holding the bolt and there is a reason they don't look happy.
