Danny has decided to stay away from the comments on this series (for now). He won't be spoiled, I'll make sure of it 🤫 I'll pass on any thoughts you would like to share with him though! If you would like to talk about book content, maybe just give a little spoiler warning at the start of your comment, just to be mindful of other new ‘tv show only’ viewers! Thanks for watching everyone❤
Also, BIG YES to the Annabeth love. I adored her in this episode. I'm really glad the show shed more light on her backstory and mindset regarding her parents and the gods in general
Fun fact When Riordan initially wrote the book, he didn't research the arch too in depth, so in the book, he actually thought the River was directly underneath, meaning percy would fall in. Now that he learned it isn't, he had to think of a way to make it so percy could still fall in, getting us to here now (I think that one is fair to tell Danny) And yes Next episode is gonna cook
“She’s the tiniest.” In an interview they said that Leah needed a booster seat during the train scene to make her taller. Lol I can’t I see the jellyfish now 😂
I'm so glad Danny is enjoying it!!! I felt the exact way as he did, I started reading the books when I was in college I thought it was gonna be just fun but it sucked me in completely. I think it's because it's a mix of very...fantastic adventures mixed with real family/friendship problems, it's not just a kid's thing
My husband felt the same way you did and I was so happy! I started watching it and got through the first 2 episodes and he was mad that we had to wait until the next week for the next one Lol I’m a huge fan and thought he wouldn’t be that into it and he said “well, I do like it!” He kept trying to get spoilers out of me though since I read all the books so he’d be like “Grover’s going to betray him like the prophecy said right you can tell me” and I was just like I don’t know! Even though he knew I knew it was a crazy month in our household lol
Hi again! Sorry to keep commenting, but I had a bit of a fun fact about the chimera! In the original Greek myth (or the version I read, anyway), the goat's head is actually presented as being the most troublesome. When the hero Bellerophon went to slay the chimera, the snake head spat poison, the lion head roared, and the goat head shot fire at him. Bellerophon decided the goat head was the biggest problem and disabled it first before going for the killing blow. The fact that the goat head, seemingly the most useless of the three, actually ended up being the most dangerous in the original legend was super interesting to me, so I thought I'd share (Also, Danny's not alone; I definitely saw the nereid as being in jellyfish form too 😂)
Glad I stumbled across your channel. Loved your reactions and listening to your thoughts after. I'll be checking out the rest of your reactions on this series, haha. I love how Percy & Annabeth are warming up to each other, and how much agency Grover has in this because yes he is their protector but he is his own person who has his own intentions. The chimera's design was so beautiful (kinda wanted to pet it, lol). Shoutout to Poseidon for coming through at the end and not being a fully deadbeat dad! The only thing I disliked was the length, I need 40 mins - to an hour minimum😅next episode looks so exciting, especially for my percabeth shipping heart.
Thank you so much Georgia ❤️ I have to agree with you on everything! Particularly your point about Grover, they’ve done such a great job with him. Cannot wait for next week!! Thanks for your comment
First, I've been loving your reactions to this show! You're both so fun to watch and you have really great comments and discussions. Speaking of which, I really liked hearing your thoughts on Grover. I've been trying to figure out what it is about live-action Grover that I love so much, and I think you nailed it with the "more substance" comment. Absolutely nothing against book Grover (I still love him with all my heart 🥺), but the show version just seems to have another... element to the character. Like there's so much more going on beneath the surface that he doesn't actually say, and I think that's such a cool addition to the character.
I’m glad I’m not the only one who has noticed the changes in Grover’s character! I’m really enjoying him in the show, I think the changes just enhance his character so much. Thank you for commenting ❤️
@CoyzyMovieNight I'm so excited for you to watch ep 5 because we get to see even more of that aspect of him. And of course! Thank you guys for what you do 😊
It's because in the book he's very reactionary. But because the show isn't completely focused on Percy, they're spreading out the agency to other characters.
I totally agree that it was awesome to see this FINALLY on screen. That's why it quickly became my fave episode. Chimera looked sick. And the fall was spectacular.
Danny is a second person I saw saying the Nereid (or rather Naiad since it's a river) had the voice of Sally but she didn't???? Their voices sound totally different, at least to me. She only repeated Sally's words.
You’re right, it’s a different voice actor! We did discuss it a bit and decided that although it sounded a bit like his mum, it may not have been her voice. I must have cut it out in editing, apologies!! ❤️
Once the statue of a creature breaks, the die and move on. The power of the monster has little to do with how fast they reform. The furies reform particularly quickly, while Medusa can take a century.
I agree that they are all so perfectly casted . I also think Poseidon saved Percy. A funny thing is I got into it when I was about 17 or 18 years old so I was older too lol Thanks for doing this I love how you guys enjoy and explore. Spoiler……. I CAN NOT WAIT FOR ARES AND THE TUNELESS OF LOVE
I was so disappointed that this episode was shorter than the last one. The Nereid’s design as well as the Chimera was amazingly unique. I can’t wait for more reactions! 🧑🏼🦱👩🏿🦱🧑🏾🦱🗡️👩🏻🦰👹🌊💙🩶💚🖤🩵
PLOT TWIST: The REAL faction after Percy are all the members of the underwater kingdom. They're angry about all the fish sticks he ate as a kid... younger kid. Hell hath no fury like a tuna scorned. 🐳🐋🐬🦭🐟🐠🐡🦈🐙😉

Annabeth is my no1!!!!

Thank you for this, I will be passing comments on to Danny ❤️ next week is going to be insane!!!!! Can’t wait

Stop thats adorable!! At this stage, I’m starting to think it was a jellyfish…
The spoils of war do not disappear when the creature comes back, so there are several versions of Medusa's head out there. Must be trippy for them.

I sent this to Danny, his response: ‘jellyfish solidarity’
Loved the reaction as always!! You both have such a good vibe. The jellyfish bit cracked me up 🪼🪼
Thank you very much ❤️

In the books it is supposed to sound a lot like his mom so maybe they wanted a similar sounding voice actor.
27:59 “he doesn’t like to panic”
Me: PANic 😂
i LOVED the percy and annabeth character dynamics in this episode
Love your Percy Jackson reactions. Keep them coming. 👍
Thank you ❤ we’re having so much fun

I really do wish they'd let Grover eat a tin can or two
Hello, how's it going?
